I totally agree about Okami

XIII I played on the original Xbox, and I thought it was really cool and the comic-book cel-shading effects worked really well

Assassin's Creed was another one, despite the repetitive gameplay it still had great style and looked absolutely amazing... I loved the overhead views of the cities as you road to them on your horse...

Shadow of the Colossus.

Beautiful and breathtaking. Should have been a next gen game. The PS2 really couldn't do it justice. The landscape was vast and empty (as it was meant to be) and each of the colossi were beautifully made. One of my top 5 games.

Agree with Okami, I thought it was genius. But the Wii controler tends to be a little more difficult to use that the PS2 controler for this game (and I hate all PS controlers). Maybe I shouldn't be drunk when I play?

I also agree with Assassin's creed. Repetative gameplay, but beautifully created worlds. And something that doesn't get mentioned much about AC is the sound. Especially when you stab or cut someone. It just SOUNDS brutal. I have beaten the game and was playing for fun yesterday and I accidentally found out that you can counter with the hidden blade (I didn't know that). I stabbed some poor guard in the face (totally fu@#ing awesome).

Yeah, Team Fortress has a beautiful design style, all the characters are detailed and interesting to look at.
World of warcraft is a nice one, a lot of effort has gone into making each area unique and interesting and the world looks excellent

Funny, 'cause I found the Wii controls way more intuitive than those of the PS2 (especially the whole painting mechanic). Adventure games + booze= total confusion.

Even though it looks dated now (even when it came out there was better out there) I loved XIII's film noir comic stylings.

I also loved Wind Waker because of how much care attention went into the style, but since Okami I have a new favourite.

Voxelstein, I just played it for the first time about a day ago due to a recommendation from another thread. It was the first time I ever had a real 3d feel to the graphics. You can't see it in the screenshots, but in the actual game its like playing a game with amazing graphics at an extremely low resolution.

Team Fortress 2, it's almost aesthetically perfect, that is there's very little that they could add to it graphically that would make it even more better looking than it is. This, and the way the classes and maps are designed. That whole evil genius type feel and look is just awesome :3

Speaking of which...the game 'Evil Genius' pulls of this look very well, being that the whole game is bascially designed around this theme. Though the gameplay is a bit..lacking, it's still quite a good 'tycoon' type game, and this is mainly due to the amount of style it has.
I have to agree the graphics dont seem like much but its very good looking and theres almost no lag

I don't if anyone has heard of these games, but the sly cooper thrillogy. It has these colourful artistic graphics that are very appealing.

The PS2 Shin Megami Tensei games have a unique style.
Also Okami, naturally.

THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU!

Even though it LOOKS like it's a spawn of KH, it's actually nothing like it. The Dialogue is fresh and witty, the gameplay while overwhelming at first becomes exciting and with the combination of sub-slots, you can land some pretty serious combos. Yeah, there's grinding, but there's a great replay value in the secret reports where you can get info on the environment of the UnderGround Shibuya that wasn't mentioned in the game. Plus the secret ending once you get all of them (including the cracked out Another Day), is .. well, confusing to say the least, but it totally works.

That's definitely one I'll be plugging for a while. You can FEEL the pulse of Shibuya as you run through the city, the trends and while it does tread familiar JRPG territory, the characters are all different and they do grow and they do change and clash and grow. Which is something missing from most games. Definitely, definitely check out TWEWY. :)

PS: I also loved Okami :3

Team Fortress 2
Okami
Guilty Gear X + any updates of Guilty Gear XX
Shadow of the Colossus

I also think the upcoming game Saboteur [http://pandemicstudios.com/saboteur/] looks like it's heading in the right direction with the art style.

Jumping on the Okami bandwagon - one of the few console games I possess. I like to think that Crysis has the best graphics ever seen in a computer game - but Okami is prettier, by a country mile.

Shadow Of The Colossus and Team Fortress 2 as well.

In it's own way, I felt that STALKER had an amazing style to it - a grainy, washed out nuclear wasteland; derelict cars, wild dogs and eerie shadows.

Burnout Paradise deserves a mention for just oozing cool

But TF2 is probably the best use of styling to make up for technical graphical ability.

I can only really comment on shooting and drivng games

Hmmm...the pixelacious style of Monkey Island still brings out a lot of good memories. The thing it did impressively was have a night-time setting that wasn't just "Everything in the game but Dark", it actually created an artistic style. Purples and blues shaded together with the torches and firelight...the same style happens when Guybrush is down in Hell or screwing around the island.

It's a style that I don't really see working in the VGA adaptation or the later games either. It's kinda like how a watercolor painting done in oil doesn't work on the same level. Love me some 16-bit EGA art...
