Doctor Horrible was brilliant. The Guild is alright. Hated the Stargates and BSG.

I sort of liked Life on Mars, but it was very depressing, I thought. Life was boring, as was Heroes.

I'm not really into war stuff, so have been avoiding Band of Brothers, even though everyone has told me it's brilliant.

As for the rest, I shall look into them. Thanks for the recommendations, feel free to keep 'em coming.

I'll second Fringe.
Also if you like the darker Vampire stuff then give True Blood a try.

You should try watching Red Dwarf, a British comedy series from the 90's.
Also, the first ever sci-fi comedy.
I love it.
This times 1000. Really, my favourite series ever.
Black books is another British gold level comedy.

I watched the first two seasons of Lost and then started to hate it because the plot started to get too convoluted and the characters were going nowhere. It started really good.

Bones I found ultimately boring even though I quite liked it at first, and NCIS is just shit. As is 24, or was in the start, haven't watched it in a long time.

Six Feet Under was good, although I went into it expecting essentially a black comedy, so was a bit disappointed.

Pinky & The Brain is a classic.

Enjoyed True Blood very much.

The first few seasons of The X-Files are fantastic TV. But stop watching as soon as they start having a circle jerk over the Cigarette Smoking Man.

Breaking Bad and True Blood have had me obsessed for some time, they're fantastic, Breaking Bad especially, but it ain't for the faint hearted.

Prison break, more twists than a really big bag of twisty pasta.

If you watch red dwarf and like it try blackadder, it's got Hugh Laurie (house) in but in more of a slapstick role, it stars Rowan Atkinson in various roles (depending on the series) trying to get a small victory in each episode but due to the stupidity of the people around him it never works out and the insults are usually ... bizarrely funny or very witty.

Example.
Baldrick: but my lord I've been in your family since 1532.
Blackadder: So has syphilis. Now get out

Could try "that 70s show", married with children, Rosanne, everybody loves Raymond and everybody hates Chris.

There's loads of other British comedies too. Like Spaced, The Brittas Empire and the Fast Show.

Star Trek : The Next generation
Star Trek : Voyager

V looks to be shaping up to be pretty good but I'm not sure it'd be what your looking for but it is worth a look only 4eps out so far in new series though.

I think Fringe is good as well as Heroes but those are very plot and back sotry reliant to you will have to start from first episode to get them.

I personally enjoy the American version of the Office, some people don't like it but it really has some great moments in it.
