Suggest An Open World Game For A Bored Gamer.

I wouldnt recommend fallout 3 as it gets boring after awhile.
Play Red Faction Guerilla, Elder Scrolls 4 and/or Just Cause 2 'till Skyrim comes out

Oh GTA IV,GTA san andreas, Saints Row 2.

If you want a challenge, get Borderlands and try to collect every possible weapon at least once.

op. you can also try the yakuza games if you have a ps3. now, you can't blow stuff up in it, but you can beat the shit out of thugs and mafia members using awesome weapons, the environment, and outrageously badass martial arts moves. and when you get bored there is a shit ton of stuff to do and find in the world like games to play, foods to try, women to date...etc.

start with 3 then go for yakuza 4

As open world as you can get, ridiculous levels of chaos (literally) and also the grapple hook.

Go forth and attach pedestrians to fast moving objects

Find airplane.
Find guard.
Use hook on both.

You need Mercenaries 2 then.

Or if you can manage to get a hold of it, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

Some good ones (already mentioned numerous times) are Fallout 3, Fallout NV and Prototype. In the Fallout games you have to level up and a play a bit, the blowing someone to many little pieces with a grenade you shoved in their pants does not get old. In prototype you are god of destruction, you can really go mad with that one.

far cry 2 is loads of fun if you dont mind really long drives and constant assault truck ambushes. you can set the savannah on fire! it's awesome!

Hey guys,

I think the title of this thread says it all, but allow me to expand.
Im bored as hell, due in no small part to the fact that most games ive played lately seem lacking to say the least.
So basically it comes down to this, i love open world games where i can follow the story or just go nuts. I love blowing stuff up, no seriously, you have no idea how much i love blowing stuff up, given the choice between most games ive played lately and razing an entire city to the ground id choose the later..... In a game i mean.... I mean dont expect to look out your window and see me holding a can of fuel and a lighter because that going too far even for me.
Ok, sorry, ill summarise this.

Bored gamer, want to blow stuff up in an open world game, what can you recommend.

I agree with the guy who said just cause 2, but if money is a problem I would go with Infamous. You can download it for free with the welcome back to playstation network package (assuming you have a ps3 and not an xbox)

Don't do Just Cause 2, it is horribly unbalanced. (at least on the hardest setting when you are already 30 hours into the game and they don't allow you to switch)

Saint's Row 2 is the way to go if you haven't played it already.
