OK so currently I own a PS3 but when it comes to games I genuinely like, the list is pretty short.

I'm a big fan of the Uncharted series and the Motorstorm series but you can only play those so many times. I really dislike first person shooters, so that narrows the choices a fair bit. Grand Theft Auto IV was OK but I only played it for the story, nothing else. Prince of Persia wasn't a bad game but I've completed that. Point is, apart from Motorstorm and Uncharted: Drake's fortune, nothing has really had the wow factor for me. I don't mind if the games you reccomend are from previous generations, just make sure they're on the Playstation platform.

I'll list some of my favourites from across the three generations and see what you can come up with for me:

PS1:
- Crash Bandicoot Series

PS2:
- Jak and Daxter Series (Jak 3 was epic)
- Burnout 3
- Gran Turismo Series
- Prince of Persia Series
- SSX Series

PS3:
- Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (very excited for Uncharted 2)
- Motorstorm 1 & 2 (Big fan of Motorstorm 2)
- Prince of Persia

A short list I know because I play games on and off but when a good game comes along that a really enjoy I'm very addicted, see what you can come up with that I can try out and hopefully enjoy.

Umm...I enjoyed Assassin's Creed, and that's somewhat reminiscent of PoP...an obvious choice to follow Burnout 3 is Burnout Paradise.
That's about all I came up with.

Defiantly try Burnout Paradise, it's awesome. Also Assassins Creed is very good. But I would reccomend you go through an upcoming games list and see what catches your eye.

Go out and buy Ratchett and Clank. It has a natty little story and cute ideas, and you seem to like the whole platforming thing, which this game does really well.

From what I can glean from the demo, you might enjoy InFamous, it "feels" a lot like Uncharted, just with a big change in setting and concept.

Also pretty much any of the Rachet and Clank games should be right up your alley.

This doesnt really fit with your past games but have a look at red faction guerilla, the destruction engine it uses is amazing and has a huge wow factor

Is your PS3 backwards compatible? (Or do you still have a PS2 kicking around?)

If so, pick up the first Sly Cooper game, it's absolute win. If not, you can't go wrong with Ratchet & Clank for the PS3.

If you liked Grand Theft Auto, go try Saint's Row. It's 10x better than GTA and doesn't take itself serious...which is amazing.

Also, saying you don't like FPS is a pretty blanket statement. Do you not like generic FPS games or do you not like any, period. Reason I ask is because Dead Space is a third person shooter that is an amazing game. Are you just not good at them or just don't like them because of something else? If you liked Uncharted, which is a 3PS, you will like Dead Space.

And, I agree with the poster above...Ratchet and Clank for the PS3 is great!

How about Valkyria Chronicles? It's not much like the games you've listed, but it's generally praised by all. You mentioned you're into story, and VC has a strong story. Check out some reviews first; it might not be your kind of thing.

Series? Theres only been one game so far.

But I would deffinatly second Ratchet and Clank, much better than the Jak and Daxter Series.

You could try Burnout:paradise its a bit different from the old ones but I enjoyed it.

And maybe Shaun Whites Snowboarding.

I'd say go for ICO and Shaodow of the Colossus although they are difficult to find, Ratchet and Clank would also be good to go for God of War might also be good to try.

It sounds like you like speed. You should really have Warhawk. You can play that sort of third person shooter on the ground/invehicles or jump in a "warhawk" fly around and have dogfights at crazy speeds. Really, if you have a PS3, you should have warhawk; especially if you like speed. As a friend of mine says, it's fun even if you suck at it.

If you liked GTA4, try Saints Row 2. It's similar but more fun. But if you just want to play through the story (there's a lot more fun and rewarding things to do too) try renting.

Unfortunately Burnout Paradise was forgettable but you might want to rent The Wheelman. It's fun but not worth purchasing.

The best advise I can give is to log into the PSN Store and download a ton of demos. They're free.

Thanks for the replies, I'll definitely look at all the suggestions.

Some are suggesting Burnout Paradise, now I did try this one however I didn't rate it because I found the navigation very challenging, I had to constantly check the map to see where the race was headed. I also found they messed with the physics a bit and it just didn't feel as fun as Burnout 3.

Valkyria Chronicles and Shadow of the Colossus I've never heard of so I'll look into these, keep the suggestions coming if you've got any more.

Edit: My PS3 is backwards compatible with PS2 games.

This is what search engines are for.

Simply go to Google.com.
I'll spell it for you G-O-O-G-L-E.

Type in the genre(s) for the system(s) you like.
Then press press the button labeled "Search".

This should bring up a few pages related to the keywords you used.
To go onto the next page, simply scroll to the bottom of the screen, and click on the page number that follows the one you are currently on.

In fact, one of the Ratchet and Clank games are called, "Up Your Alley."

Yeah, try Ratchet and Clank and Assassin's Creed.
