The wait till Dragon Age 2 is really starting to get long and I recently played and beat Fable 3 which was very enjoyable and funny at some points.

Now Im back to playing Mass Effect 2 to try all possible combinations of characters I can imagine, such as Evil girl, etc.

But are there any other RPGs out there I have yet to discover and love? Are there any recent releases?

Heres the list of all RPGS I own or have played:
-Dragon Age series(Awesome)
-Fallout series (Wicked cool)
-KOTOR 1(Loved back in the day)
-Bioshock?
-Warcraft(Meh)
-Mass Effect series(Awesome)
-Fable series(Pretty cool)
-Elder Scrolls Oblivion(As big as warcraft in console form)

So recommend me a RPG I might discover and love based on my top experiences. Im willing to try anything here so give me a holler.

MorroWINd.
If you like Oblivion, you'll DEFINITELY love MW. Just don't cry to everyone about the combat system. It works, get over it.

I'd suggest Vandal Hearts on PSN, but all the games you've played previously it might bee too tactical and slow paced for you.
Wouldn't want to bore you.

if your into jrpgs, then maybe give these a try ?
Lost odyssey
blue dragon
Star ocean
it would appear however that your mostly console oriented which all of the above are available on, but it seems a shame to waste some of the classics, diablo 1&2, dungeon siege 1&2, and lest we forget daggerfall ? all classic games, and if given a fair chance well worth a go.

Oh, also on console try - RiseN, its not the greatest game but worth a go all the same, hope this helped =]

Fire Emblem series (GBA, gamecube, wii, and DS)
Golden Sun Series (GBA and DS)
Tales of Symphonia (PS2)
Deus Ex (pc)
Final Fantasy VI (GBA)
.Hack// (PS2. warning: confusing)

And that's all I got. I can vouch for every one of them except Deus Ex, because i've only seen a friend play it.

Alpha Protocol might be something. It has different ways you can answer in dialogues(like in Dragon Age/Mass Effect) and it's a shooting RPG(like Mass Effect \o/), a genre I've fallen in love with myself. The best of two worlds!
I hear the story is also really good and somewhat makes up for the supposedly bad gameplay mechanics. Recomending a game I haven't played myself isn't really my thing, but it appears in my mail box tomorrow if I'm lucky - so then I could elaborate more if you're intrested.

I suppose that you have played Bioshock?
Perhaps it's not really to be considered as an RPG.

If you're willing to forsake playing on consoles then I would definitely suggest trying Diablo 2. If you're into hack and slash RPGs then Diablo will be right up your street.

I just don't understand how I can be standing right in front of a stationary target and still miss.

Sorry if your more of a console fan because Mount and Blade for the PC is stellar. While it may not look like it but Mount and Blade is one hell of an RPG mixed with mild amounts of RTS. It may not look like an RPG because it is completely open ended and you get to choose to be any type of person you want to be. Addicting game to say the least.

this is if you like jrpg's but take a look at lost odyssey but apart from the ones you listed i can only suggest neverwinter nights 2 for pc. however if you are looking for a more simple rpg then steer clear of this since its one of the more in depth games i have played in terms of how you level your character since its based on the D&D engine

I'm going to once again massively plug Fallout New Vegas. Even if you have it, I don't care, I just love going on about it.

Way back in the day I got seriously into Oblivion to the point where I had done literally everything a few times over at least on three separate computers. I finally got tired of that game as I ran out of new and even relatively fresh material but it remained basically my favourite game ever. I was incredibly eager when Fallout 3 was released as it was put down by many as "Oblivion with guns". Loving guns and Oblivion I thought it would be perfect for me but after a good deal of playing the continuous grey landscape and realtively straight forward linear main quest meant I got tired of it very fast. I did enjoy the DLC The Pitt which I consider one of the best examples of Moral Choice in games, play it to find out why, but one playthrough was all I could muster. Needless to say I was very apprehensive about New Vegas.
I recieved it a while ago as a gift from my parents but due to computer trouble and a busy schedule I didn't get round to playing it until the holidays at which point I started afresh and went out to find my way in Vegas. The first thing that struck me was the sun, the setting of Vegas meant that the lighting was much brighter for outside than it had been in Fallout 3, which seems reasonable what with its comepletely different setting. The effect of a bright sky just really helps me lift my mood when I'm playing games so Oblivion, New Vegas and Borderlands taught me I am easily influenced by this. The second thing I noticed, and this was much later on, was that all the skill sets seemed very balanced. There seemed much more speech and other skill challenges in all the quests I did and all actually had proper benefits. Also there is a greatly developed assortment of factions, all of which you have a degree of politics with to the extent that you really make an awful lot of personal decisions and you really feel like you can shape the world. Over the holidays I've clocked up over 60 hours playtime and I literally had myself to force myself to stop because I have work due in. But as soon as that's out of the way I will immediately be back on it.
