Plaaaaaaanescaaaaaaaaaape toooooormeeeeeeeeeent.

Really now.

Oh, besides that? Lessee... Sacrifice. On Steam, unsure about specs. System Shock 2, not on Steam, still excellent. X-COM, entire series is on Steam, ignore interceptor/enforcer.

Hm... older Thief games? And the Avernum/Geneforge series, while not old or on Steam, are fairly old game-y in style and graphics, so they should run fine. Quite good indie RPGs.

Edit: And every roguelike ever. Seriously, binge on them. I personally suggest Nethack and Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.

Again, not old, but excellent and something your computer can handle: Iji. You owe it to yourself to play this, much like Planescape.

Alpha Centauri is good pick if you're into TBS. Anything Sid Meier's done is generally pretty good.

Total Annihilation / TA: Spring
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Annihilation < Total Annihilation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_%28game_engine%29 < Spring, a new engine designed for a remake of Total Annihilation. It's pretty taxing, and bloody badly optimized, but give it a shot.

Hmm, I wonder what game from earlier this decade I could recommend you...

HMMM...

MAFIA! A truly superb story and cast, realistic driving, great (and fucking hard) gunplay. You'll love it, as long as you don't make the idiotic mistake of assuming they wanted to make a GTA game in the 30s. Only idiots assume that. Because they're idiots.

Mafia is about crafting a strong, engaging narrative and putting you into the role of Tommy (protagonist).

It's hard to find, but I'm assuming it's going to be released on Steam soon; at the minute it's only available as a free gift if you pre-order Mafia 2.

Wow, I have a lot of games on my backlog now... I plan on playing most of these games eventually. I feel it's my duty as a gamer.

As far as I'm concerned Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, released in 2000 by Bioware, remains the absolute best rpg ever made bar none. Ten years old now and the games are still in production, with boxed sets still available on store shelves and online, with an active modding community to this very day. If you've never played the series and are even a remote fan of the genre or Bioware as a company, you must check it out.

Another game on the 'best ever' list is Heroes of Might and Magic 3. In so many respects, this is simply one of the best games ever made. The combat is entertaining, the races diverse, the tactics plentiful, and most of all it's just plain 'fun'. Another game over ten years old now, hard to believe considering I still play this game frequently to this very day. Turn-Based Strategy/RPG at its very best, there's never been another game to match it. Available on the already mentioned Good Old Games website dirt cheap too!

And since I'm on the list of best evers, here's one more: Freespace 2.

By this point you're probably bored of reading, so I'll just link this video demonstrating why Freespace 2 is the best space-sim ever made.
Hard to believe this game is also over ten years old. The late 90's, early 2000's were easily the best time to be a PC gamer. Also on GOG.com

Commander Keen! It's an old, 1990's 2D game, and it's awesome! You can get it off Steam for 5 bucks.

Also, Half Life. 10 bucks on steam, and the xpacs only cost like 5 bucks a piece.

I can't think of anything else...

You should be alright running this, just be careful you don't kill yourself in frustration.
