So my friends and I are all masochists, apparantly, and we enjoy watching and playing horrible games and movies . We're apparantly pretty good at it too, because we managed to not only sit through Batman And Robin and The Room, but we also had a blast playing through Sonic 06 (Glitch saved me! Glitch saved me again! Glitch saved me!...Glitch killed me.)

We have our limits, though. We were able to get through one 'path' in Shadow the Hedgehog before giving up.

I suppose there's a certain kind of bad game or movie, though, that makes it awesome despite how terrible it is. We're looking for more like this right now. My question to the escapist community, therefore, is this: What games or movies do you recommend that are horrible games, but hilarious experiences?

Deadly Premonition! It's the best worst thing ever!!!

And for bad movies; Cabin Fever, simply for this scene:

The Happening is a hilarious movie. It tries to be horror and suspense, though.
Also I thought the Grudge was funny.

And I love the 2004 Van Hellsing-movie for the hilariously bad quality and stupid action. This movie is definitely a quilty pleasure of mine.
And I must mention the Asulym's Sherlock Holmes. I loved it. It's the one where there are dinosaurs and Ironman.

As for games, the plot of Sonic Adventure 2 is hilariously bad, but the gameplay is good, which makes me like it a lot.

Movie: Drag me to hell. It was so bad that was just gut busting hilarious. Other movies: any 70's horror movie

Game: The X-blades. When I asked a friend of mine if I could borrow it he said I could keep it. It didn't take me long to find out why he wanted to get rid of it. I let it collect some dust for a good few months, when after that same friend came over and, after having some good laughs with Dead Rising 2, decided to play it for the heck of it. Maybe it was because we were in LOL mode or something, but it was truly hilarious.

You know, I've actually tried to find the happening before, but it's surprisingly difficult to find (legally, anyway).

ah, the Hellsing movie... I watched that by myself several years ago, but my memory's pretty fuzzy abuot it. May be worth a re-visit.

We actually played Sonic Adventure 2 before, and I agree with you. It's completely ridiculous but quite entertaining (in a group, anyway).

In preperation for Batman: Arkham City, I bought a dvd 4-pack of Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. Batman and Robin is so bad that's it's pretty amazing. I easily recomened who want to watch some crap. And of course, there is always Tommy Wisaeu's The Room, if you can find it.

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.

Want to play a game where you play the special needs caretaker for a magical giant Ogre who acts and sounds like the unfortunate amalgamation of Lennie Smalls and The Grimmace?

If you're looking for something older I also suggest Steambot Chronicles.
It's what you get if you played Armoured Core and thought "This game needs a schmaltzy story about the power of music and love."

Fair warning, the translation on this game is notoriously terrible, to the point where it actually hinders your ability to tell where you're supposed to go next.

Lastly, try finding a copy of Life Line.

You'll need a headset to control the game due to it's honestly pretty innovative concept of speaking to the protagonist through the headset to guide her through the game.
Sounds like fun until you find yourself yelling at the game because it doesn't actually recognize your commands very well and it has a prohibitively limited vocabulary.

Your entire gameplay experience ends up sounding like this.

"Go left...no no no...LEFT! What are you doing? Yes...I see you, stop waving at me you dumb broad. Walk left...thank you. Pick up the keys...the keys...pick up the keys....they're right there pick up the fucking keys!"

And so on and so forth.

I'm not sure if Drag Me To Hell really counts here. Sam Raimi's "bad" movies are usually intentionally so, like in Evil Dead 2. It's meant to be funny.

Deadly friend.
<youtube=lSW2pPlZF-M>
that is all.
Also Birdemic, but I'd suggest watching the Rifftrax version since the movie is horribly paced and painful in the beginning.

Fugitive hunter, you kickbox Osama Bin Laden.
fight starts at 4:15

Leprechaun 4, that movie is bad all over. It also has one of the most contrived reasons to show boobs on screen that I've ever seen. "When the Princess flashes her boobs at you she's marking you for death." ...what?

If you really want to challenge yourselves try digging up this old movie simply titled SSSSSSS. If you can sit through that without wanting to kill yourselves by the end I applaud you.

Ghost Ship, seriously holy shit the beginning will have you in tears.
The Hills Have Eyes films, they're god awful and i still don't know how it managed a sequel.
That film MovieBob just did for his 'The Big Picture' looks awfully funny and is a shame it's only been released for Region 1 doovde, i should lobby the studio for a Region 2 release.
Ken Park, it's not even a film in my opinion its just like a far more graphic episode of Skins.
I'll put Hobo with a Shotgun in there, while i thought this film was hilarious start to finish and don't think it's god awful it's one of those really naff films that you have to see.

For games, any StarFox game after StarFox 64. The dialogue can be taken as one big sex joke.

For movies, just watch a SyFy channel original movie.

Old Hammer horrors tend do be wonderfully bad. Two of my favourites are Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde [http://youtu.be/qasdD1VQ6YI] and Twins of Evil [http://youtu.be/TW1TxsVQ3QE].

The Giant Claw. Trust me The Giant Claw try to avoid knowing anything about it before watching (or at least don't tell your friends when you watch it just say it is a funny monster film) it it will make it so much better.

Tru on dat. However, first part is actualy not THAT bad and knowledge about past events isn't required to enjoy this piece of sh... i mean, interesting classic movie that no doubtly inspired future makers of "SAW" franchise. ;)
