I'm not sure whether this topic belongs in Gaming Discussion or Off-topic Discussion, so if a Mod thinks this belongs in the other feel free to move it or something.
If you've been surfing the internet in the early 2000's and were big into video games and anime, chances are you've seen or heard of Super Mario Bros Z [http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/supermariobrosz]. Mixing characters from Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog with a plot ripped straight out of Dragon Ball Z, it was one of the most popular game-related Flash series on the web. Unfortunately massive pressure from fans, life complications, and a loss of will to continue animating lead creator Mark Haynes to drop the series after 8 episodes. This hit fans hard as not only did their favorite series get cancelled but it ended on a nail-biting cliffhanger that left many wondering what will happen next to this very day.
Well there is now some good news and bad news. Good news: Mark is pondering the idea of getting back into the show. The bad news: he plans on rebooting the series, starting right back at the beginning and forever leaving what happens after the end of the original episode 8 a mystery. In a post made on his DeviantArt account [http://rukaisho.deviantart.com/art/Sprite-animation-practice-SMBZ-ep-1-remake-405291459], Mark states that if he does start working on SMBZ again, he would want to go back and redo the series from the start in order to fix some nagging issues he's had with it. He also posted a test animation of what the first scene from episode one would look like in this new reboot, both as practice to see if he could still do sprite animations well and to give fans an idea of what he plans to do if he actually decides to go through with it.
As an old fan of his work, I'm happy to hear he may be making a comeback. I do worry, however, about the reaction this will have from his fans. Mark was notorious back in the day for delaying the release of episodes or even outright threatening to cancel the series (before he actually cancelled it for realsies) because of how much the fans were pestering him. I would love for him to go through with this, but not if it means he has to go through that personal hell again. What do you all think?
Edit: Just in case there may be any confusion, this isn't 100% confirmation. Mr. Haynes is still debating whether or not he actually wants to do this, and there is a chance he may decide not to. By all means be excited, but try not to be disappointed or mad if or when he decides he can't do it.
