No reaction to this woman who looks suspiciously like the woman who helped you in the last game? Not even a fleeting moment of "OMG she look familiar"? No mention of her helping you at all? No repercussions that Damien might have at all from having to fight the very same woman who saved him in the first?

...Right. Fine. I can take a hint.

Outcry raised herself from the ground, brushing specks of dust from her hair nonchalantly. "That was a foolish move, Damien. I may have offered you a painless death, but that possibility just ran out for you. A shame." Her eyes went to and fro among the throngs of escaping people, seeking out even the slightest movement of her prey. She could selectively filter out anyone not matching his profile, and the majority of the crowd started to fade away into darkness leaving a few slivers of light left.

A blast of concentrated gravity came from behind her, attempting to knock her away once more, but she anticipated the move. She righted herself in midair, blasted back towards Damien and thrust a knee with much gravity-assisted force into his stomach, knocking the wind straight from his lungs, before she launched into a flurry of hits with imagined objects, constantly stabbing, slicing and ripping at him with any number of objects she could make. A knife one second would be a cork-screw the next.

Damien slammed her into the ground. He held her there, making it unable for her to escape. She looked like she was being crushed to death. It must have been excruciatingly painful. He walked over to her, saying, "Well, I was not expecting that. You stole my powers. But it didn't have nearly the strength I normally can summon. Therefore, I think you're only a second rate copycat. After all, a jack of all trades, master of none. Still, your fighting style reminds me of someone." He made it over to her. When he saw her face clearly, he blanched. "K-Kathy? Is that you? Your first name: Katharine, nickname: Kathy, Alias:Supergirl. What are you doing? It's me, Damien! Don't you remember me?" His eyes widened as they locked onto an insignia located on her armor. "Oh God. The Company. I'm so sorry Kathy. All i've done for the past few years is screw other people over." He shook his head and sighed. "I don't want to fight you. I can't bring myself to do it. I'm sorry for attacking you, but i'm gonna have to keep you restrained until I can get away. The restraints will dissipate when I get far enough away. I'm not ready to die. I have too many things to do, to many wrongs I have to make right." With that, Damien lifted himself in the air and flew away, faster than the eye could follow. A tear rolled down his face as he added another screwup to the enormous pile that was his life.

No. Never again. Every time somebody apologizes for a wall-o-text, Zooey Deschanel is forced to gruesomely consume a bucket-full of orphaned puppies.

Think about that.

Hehe, that was good joke Aqua, the one about you not being in Surge 2. Heh. Nice one, you almost had me.

"O_______O"

I sense a great disturbance in the Shwartz, as if tens of RPers suddenly cried out, and then were silenced. Something terrible has happened.

Sam Kinder, lead reporter for Channel 7 News in Urbis, walked into his office and sat down in his chair with a heavy thud. He was tired, but he was also satisfied. The constant influx of murders, thefts, and super-brawls was giving his team more than enough to cover, and since they were faster, better, and smarter than all the other news channels, they were getting the stories first. Ratings had never been better.

As he sat in his seat and gazed at the ceiling, enjoying his brief, five minute break, he suddenly thought he heard a noise, like a soft, barely audible pop. Glancing down, his eyes locked on a tape, sitting on his desk, that he could have sworn wasn't there when he walked into the room. On top of it lay a single length of straw.

Leaning forward, he brushed the straw away nonchalantly and then examined the tape, turning it over in his hands. No writing, as far as he could tell. Gazing around the room, he saw nothing that indicated how the mysterious tape had arrived. With a shrug, Sam walked over to the TV set on top of his file cabinet, popping the tape in, and then pressed play. What he saw instantly made his eyes go wide, and sent his hand up to his mouth.

"Oh my god... the Sarah Malian murder... no cameras were even allowed there!" He stared dumbstruck as the video displayed the outside and inside of the house, capturing every abnormality and spectacle in hurried yet steady detail. This is proof.

"Cindy, get in here! I want this tape on air NOW!"

**********************
An hour later...

"In Urbis, we strive for a better tomorrow."

An eruption of cheers and applause, as the crowd gathered in Livingston Square expressed their approval of Mayor Greg Ellis' words. Umbrellas dotted the sea of people, as the overcast sky dribbled out the remnants of it's recent storm down through the towering bastions of steel and glass.

"We strive to create brighter futures and better lives for our citizens." More applause. "We protect them, ensure their well-being, and make sure that none are discriminated against." More cheers and applause from the crowd, as thousands of cameras flash.

"Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, is more important to us, than the safety, quality of life, and equality of rights, of our citizens." A thunderous sound of cheering echoes through the city streets, hundreds of news cameras capturing the Mayor's riveting speech from every angle. Thousands of eyes glued to their television sets all across the city, watching intently.

"We have always tried our utmost to preserve the rights, recognition, and equal quality of life for all." As the Mayor said this, a tall, blonde-haired man in his mid-thirties walked onto the stage, grinning and waving to the crowd. The man crossed the distance and then stood next to Ellis, hands behind his back. "This, ladies and gentlemen, is Harry Melone." The Mayor said, smiling and placing an arm around Harry's shoulders. "Harry is a super."

There was a brief hush in the crowd, as they all stared at the super with mixed feelings. A few scattered cheers, and then they gradually grew in strength, till a good-sized noise was made. The Mayor smiled and put a hand in the air, bidding them quiet down.

"Harry can... what is it you do again, Harry?" The Mayor asked.

"Oh, I control sound waves." Harry said confidently into the mic, his face beaming. This was a grand moment for him, as it was for all super kind.

"Very good." The Mayor turned back to the crowd, spreading his arms wide. "Today, supers gain recognition. Today, supers will, officially and publicly, gain their own, recognized social group. They will be seen for what they are, out in the open, without anything to hide." The crowd, although obviously having mixed emotions and being more than a little skeptical, applauded anyways. The sound grew as more joined in, and the Mayor back away from the mic, satisfied, as Harry stepped up to make his own statement. Ellis then looked at the numerous guards surrounding the stage, and gave a quick nod.

Instantly, a dozen weapons were trained on the man, and a pair of handcuffs were clamped around his wrists. Harry tried to twist around in surprise, but was pulled backwards and grabbed around the arms, several soldiers pinning his limbs against him. "No! Hey, what the hell!"

"Arrest this man!" The Mayor proclaimed, pointing a finger dramatically at Harry. The super's face suddenly twisted into an expression of rage, and a high-pitched, shrieking wail emanated across the square, cut short abruptly by the butt of a gun. The soldiers then quickly dragged the limp body off the stage.

Mayor Greg Ellis stepped back up to the pedestal, gripping the sides of it as he leaned into the mic, his face now etched in grave determination. The crowd before him was silent, dumbstruck by what had just happened. Even the reporters stopped scrambling and fighting for the perfect view.

"Ladies, and gentlemen. Citizens of Urbis." The Mayor began in a slow, cold tone. "The threat has gone on long enough. These freaks, these inhuman monsters, have plagued our lives from the shadows for too long. They have used their solitude, their separation, and their distrust, as a cloak. As a blanket of darkness, to shield them from the watchful eyes of those who would seek to bring them to justice out in the open, in the eyes of all those they have harmed. No more."

The crowd remained silent, entranced by Ellis' enigmatic words.

"You have all seen it. The murders, the fights, the destruction of public property and the threat to the citizen's lively-hood. That all ends now. The Eradication Act has been passed!" As he said this, Ellis held up a document, for all to see. The crowd began to cheer, first slowly and unsurely but then stronger, their enthusiasm building.

"The Act calls for the arresting of all supers!" The Mayor continued, his voice growing to a shout. As he spoke, hundreds of police cruisers and swat vans began to pull out in every direction, swerving into their formations as they sped down the cleared corridors in the crowds, out into the city to begin The Crusade. "All people with supernatural abilities are now recognized as criminals! They will be hunted, arrested, taken into custody, and made to pay for their crimes! This city will be SAFE!" As he yelled these last words, the crowd's cheering erupted into a roar of enthusiasm, filling the streets and echoing throughout the city.

********************

The roar of the crowds was music to the Monster's ears. They wanted blood now, they all did. They wanted to kill and destroy, they wanted the lives of hundreds of innocent people ruined. The leaders and politician's agreed, casting their votes and their lives into the bucket of blood that fueled the cosmopolitan gathering's primal rage. The final stroke, that tape, had been cast, the final drop added, and now the bucket would overflow and drown them all.

It hadn't been hard, really, especially with the unknowing help of his fellow freaks. The murders, the thefts, the "damage to public property", all strung together and cleverly placed and prodded to bring the hammer down on supers. Of course, he could have simply showed up, killed everyone, and then they would have known, but that was no fun. Death and destruction were better drawn out into long, painful festivities.

The fact that supers themselves had helped in securing their bad-guy image was just icing on the cake. The killing of Judge Alito, just before he himself was about to commit the act, had been unexpected, but the results had gone off swimmingly. Couldn't have asked for better media attention. Which brought him to his next little escapade.

Deep under the pavement beneath the black lamppost, that wasn't really a lamppost, the hulking form of Pain turned away from the small screen that was connected to the camera hidden inside his fake lighting fixture.

"Sick, sadistic little bastards, all of them." he chuckled to himself, in his deep, throaty voice. He bent down and peered at the young african-american woman who lay on the floor of the sewer, bound and gagged, unconscious. Temica Gray was her name, beyond that Pain didn't really care. All he needed was the woman's identity, after all.

Lifting Temica's cell phone up, Pain slowly adjusted the satellite receiver next to him till the signal was good, then morphed his hand into something smaller, more able to press the keys. He made an odd motion with his jaw, and a small, metallic voice emulator appeared at the front of his mouth.

It hadn't been difficult to follow Alito's killer home, nor to secure the man's cell number. A certain Adam Kirzinski had been more than willing, after a little "persuasion", to give over his friend's number. Not that it helped him at all, in the end. Heh.

With a final grin, Pain cleared his throat and dialed Reginald Silva's cellphone number.

The cops, the SWAT, the detectives, pretty much everyone, is now officially and publicly out to get supers, as anyone with super-human abilities is now considered "arrest-able on site". Also, Zepren's character has garnered a new stalker secret admirer >;)

And just to be clear, my posts will start being shorter and more focused on Pain (in case that was bothering any of you), now that his master scheme has reached fruition.

Mike had come across the mayor's speech in his walking around the city, it was too good to be true, but what was truth in a world of falsehood? He stood at the back of the crowd and dug a nail into his palm, a woman in the crowd yelped and check to see what had hurt her. Again he jabbed himself this time sinking it into his thigh through his pocket two men standing next to each other glared at each other thinking that the other had done him some kind of harm. He moved through the crowd inflicting his pain on others.

By the time the mayor had finished her announcement that these "supers" were threats Mike had made it halfway through the masses and tensions were beginning to flare. After making it all the way to the other side fights began in the crowd. Mike went across the street and sat down at a bus station to admire his work, what had begun as a rousing speech ended in a full scale riot. The mindless savages were beating each other because of him, the officers near the stage called in back up and more arrived donning riot gear. The mayor not even bothering to think of other possibilities went straight to the conclusion that supers were involved in this though very few in the crowd heard her they were too busy choking on tear gas. Mike simply smiled got up and walked off in search of more targets.

Trevor lay on his cot still trying to process what happened.
"what the hell, was that stuff and what were those things, man this is getting way too confusing, just gotta take my mind off of it". Trevor rolled off his cot his feet hitting the ground with a thud, he slowly shuffled outside but as he reached the entrance he turned his head to the side and saw the rest of the freaks gathered around the small T.V they had, their only form of entertainment whilst waiting to be gawked at by punk kids and drunk losers.

The screen flickered as Trevor saw a news reporter standing in front of a crowd of people all of them cheering in approval of someone who assumed to be the mayor was saying he saw someone else approach the stand, the man announced himself as a super, but suddenly the man had several guns pointed at him and was quickly shot dead and dragged away.

Trevor simply stared at the rest of the speech with a blank gaze, the rest of the words spoken merely bouncing off him he ran outside knowing he had to get as far away from the city as possible, he had to escape, he turned for the parks rear exit but before he could even take a step his entire body seized up and his left eye turned a deep blue.

"what, what the fuck is going on" Trevor panicked his breath turning into shallow gasps as he tried to move his body but to no avail.

"where you going, looks like the fun's happening in the city, would`nt wanna miss it"

"what?, who was that?" Trevor asked a look of panic in his remaining eye.

me?,well I guess you could call me...a terrible person" the voice said before releasing a long maniacal laugh the sound echoing through Trevor's head, then suddenly his body suddenly turned around and started walking towards town, it`s movements stiff, almost looking like they were forced.

"what are you doing?, they`re gonna kill me...I mean us if we go there" Trevor said trying to reason with whatever was making him do this.

"oh let`s see them try, and besides what I want is`nt in the city" the voice said before going completely quiet leaving Trevor to try and struggle as his body moved ever closer to the now super killing city of urbis.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, i was just away from my pc

A sigh escaped his lips. "Vigilante justice huh? Have you ever stopped to think that under all of this corruption there is a system that works?" Kris was beginning to get agitated, this man in front of him was killing people recklessly, that would definitely bring trouble to this place. It would bring more police activity and when the media wouldn't be able to explain things, they would blame Supers."I don't give a shit what you were there to search for, Pulling that off is bad news for everyone trying to do business here!" Kris turned from the man letting out a frustrated sigh."Look, i don't care who the hell you kill around here ok? but at least try and do it more subtly, do you understand that? the concept of subtlety. Not making people redecorate altars with their brains."

Kris was about to say something else but the thought escaped his mind when he spotted several police cruisers pass by the other end of the alley. There was never such an active amount of police in the area. Maybe they finally clued in to a missing cruiser and two officers."Hey..." Kris turned back to the man."Did you... remember to make the officers call in to the station? Cause i think we might be in for some trouble."

Well... I just made an extremely powerful kinetic woman to be a head villain. On her first encounter with another super (where it's her job to steal supers) I made her react accordingly. Then, upon using one of her most powerful and influential abilities, she was brushed aside. Basically, in translation, if Dark Mist had thrown a helicopter at Damien, Damien would easily sidestep it and then walk into Starbucks expecting a cappuccino to go.

Now you, Yorg... We're like peanutbutter and jam. :D I do have another character in mind, a neutral/good one. Maybe I would find a better start going into this RP with you. But... If no one else is going to read our lengthy posts...

I read our lengthy posts, as does Grim, and Nuke, and 3W as well I presume. Revolver probably does too. Fank and Para appear to have read my most recent post, even if they just skimmed it. They got the message, and the important details.

I think you should stick with Gladys, as it will only get more awesome when she starts interacting with some of the others, specifically Pain, even if that is a little farther down the road. If something like you described happens, the best thing to do would probably just be to walk it off. Let him go get his cappuccino, and just continue on your merry way as if nothing happened, in an attempt to find a more in-touch character to interact with. It would kinda put a kink in the story for anyone who might read over it, but hey, it's not a perfect art.

Perhaps the only thing that's needed is a clarification of her powers, as that seems to have been the stumbling point in your recent impasse with Xero.

Sorry to break up the OOC-fest, but we have an RP to do.

Damien's words made no sense, and his actions made even less. He had her pinned to the ground, and could easily have attempted to kill her. But instead he flew away in what appeared to be a depressed state.

She stood again, this time a soft growl emerging as she saw her prey escape.

"I have too many wrongs to right," he had said. And he said names and an alias of which she knew nothing. Strange. Perhaps Carter's database would shed some much needed light on the subject... Her eye turned the signature green and the database opened.

Code:
//databaseinquiry: Supergirl
[color=red]//ERROR
Restricted files accessed
Shutting down inquiry[/color]
Her eyes flickered back and she stared up to where Damien had disappeared... What the hell had he been talking about and why would those files be restricted? This shed no light at all, only a thick fog of questionable uncertainty. She would find these answers later when she returned to The Company. For now, she would ignore them. She knew that Damien would not fight back the next time she met with him at least, and perhaps playing a game with the man would prove to be useful for a short time. 1W might even refer to it as "fun."

But her mind quickly went to closer, more pressing matters. Namely the fact that her only target so far was now on the alert for her, and would be acting irrationally. It seemed she would have to wait once more for a new super to reveal themselves.

A sharp wail was emitted, bullets rang out and panicked screams started to erupt from nearby, all causing her to shoot upwards to identify the sources. If a super had been found, and was causing this, this could be her first kill of the day.

It appeared not. A rally of some sort. She managed to hear the last few words of the speech, "All people with supernatural abilities are now recognized as criminals! They will be hunted, arrested, taken into custody, and made to pay for their crimes! This city will be SAFE!"

They were gathering supers into prisons? This could easily help Outcry to kill them all at once with no risk to the human's themselves. She could murder each super as she pleased, stealing their power before leaving them to die.

But then she paused. The supers could massacre the humans. And the First Law prevented her from letting any of them die, even by an act of omission. And the humans would murder her if they saw her... A problem was presented. She would have to think of an answer quickly. It was only a matter of time before the supers started banding together and retaliating.

A smile grew on Nathan's lips as the man ranted, flicking his wrist in the air so the senior of the two officers lowered his shotgun and walked towards the police car

"Whatever is going on, its not because of these men. They did report in. I'll get our senior officer here to call in, see whats happening"

Nathan tilted his head slowly to the side, studying the man before him intently as the officer called into his HQ

"And you think this is about me changing the system? About justice? Surely by now you've managed to grasp some concept of my abilities. If I wanted to really change the system, all I'd have to do is ask"

He grinned a leering grin as the senior member walked back towards them

"Sir, due to a recent outbreak in Super attacks, the mayor has sent out an arrest order on all Supers in the city"

Nathan cursed

"Then we need to get out of here. Start the car, report in that you're transporting a witness across the city. That should give us a cover story"

He turned to the patched eyed man

"You heard what the man just said, want to join me? I'm willing to include that they're transporting two witnesses, if only that now us Supers need to stick together"

He held out his hand

He looked at the other mans hand. This had to be because of the Company. They were the ones that came in the last time. The ones that gave him a chance to escape from Arthur. He felt the throb from his missing eye, his memory of those events was something akin to swiss cheese. This time, the whole city would be against them, it wouldn't be a mass confusion like the last city. Other than the man starting something in what he considered his playground, Kris had nothing against the other man, he seemed calm and maybe a bit over confident.

He grinned back the the man. taking a few steps closer and grasping the mans outstretched hand in a firm handshake."You got yourself a deal." He then moved towards the car."Last time something like this happened, Supers nearly destroyed the whole city... I was in the middle of that conflict."He tapped the bandages."So, lets try and not make a huge scene with all of this. Lets be... subtle yes?"He grinned at the man he was now standing beside the cruiser. This would be his first and hopefully only time in a police cruiser.

Nathan was visibly relieved at the other mans acceptance of an alliance, a nicer smile replacing his earlier leer

"Yes, subtle does sound like a good idea"

He answered, twisting his hands in the air to direct the two cops to get into the police car as he bent down to pick up the Glock he had kicked away before, slipping into the holster he had squired.

"I guess now would be the time to exchange names. I'm Nathan. Nathan Andrews"

He suddenly said as he opened the door to the police car, and got it strapping on his seat-belt

"And if you don't mind me asking...what happened during this other conflict? Anything I should alert these two about?"

He asked, motioning to the top cops sitting up front

Trevor continued his forced walk towards town growing more terrified with every step, whatever was inside him was controlling him somehow and he no way of stopping it, the city slowly came into view as Trevor tried one last time to try and turn away and leave, but as he had already known, it was useless he was going straight towards a city of people who all hated what he was and he knew it.

"why are you doing this?, what do you want , please stop this" Trevor said pleading, almost begging with what ever was forcing him to do this to stop, he went to open his mouth again but suddenly felt a sharp jolt of pain in his head he let out a blood curdling scream.

"oh would you just shut up, I`m in control now and your lucky I`m still letting you stay in here, I could erase you from your own mind if I chose too and that option is becoming more and more pleasant with every word you say, so for your own safety, shut the fuck up" the voice threatened sending another surge of pain through Trevor just to emphasize his point.

"if you can get rid of me at any time why am I still here, what role do I play?" Trevor asked trying to get some info as to why this...thing in his head was making him do this.

"simple, I plan on committing some atrocities after I get what I need and I`ve seen the things you`ve been through and I thought it would be...therapeutic if you got to see some people die" the voice said following it with a sick laugh.

---------------------------------------------------------------
The two had finally reached the outskirts of the city Trevor looking around nervously with his free eye hoping he did`nt attract any attention, but without warning a man who Trevor assumed was law enforcement stopped him dead in his tracks.

"sir do you mind explaining the glowing eye you have there" the officer inquired pointing to Trevor's left eye, Trevor opened his mouth to respond with whatever hastily made excuse he could come up with but what came out was much different.

"well you see I have this glowing eye because, I`m a super and if you know what`s good for you you`ll run away as fast as you can" Trevor gasped knowing that whatever was inside his head made him say that.

"why you little freak, I`m placing you under arrest" the officer bellowed raising his night stick in a feeble attempt to subdue Trevor but before he could bring it down Trevor's right hand shot out almost of it`s own will and gripped the policeman's head in his palm and fired a surge of electricity through the officer's head killing him instantly everyone immediately turned their gaze to Trevor some of them even screaming as they saw the dead officer in-front of him, then suddenly several other officers drew their weapons and pointed them at Trevor preparing to fire.

"ha, it`s good to be back" the voice said through Trevor as he merely ignored the officers and started running ducking into a nearby alley, continuing his search.

A cold chill passed over Reggie as he left the pne of the offices of the Kirzinski crime family. Though he had his thirty grand in a suitcase at his side, there was something wrong somewhere. What it was he didn't know. He could just sense these things sometimes.

He walked down the street, they were bare.

Where is everybody?

Suddenly his phone buzzed in his pocket. It shook with fury, in angry that someone had disturbed it's slumber.

God, I think too much in to things

He stepped in to an alleyway and pulled the phone out casually, flipped it open. He didnt recognise the number. He put it to his ear.

"Hello?" He asked into the mouthpiece. "Who is this?"

"Kris, professional item collector."That always sounded better than saying he was a thief. Kris got in the car and sat beside Nathan."And as far as you should know, the other conflict...well that was complete bedlam. You remember hearing some snippets of a stupid cover story for what happened up north a few months ago?" Kris looked out the window of the cruiser as it made its way out of the alley."Well, Supers happened... everyone in that city went insane, except a few people that I met with shortly after everything went downhill." Damien, Guenevere... and Arthur. He shook his head. Images of others came to mind, the superhero woman, Supergirl, Kathy. Things he would rather not think about at the moment."In any case, what you and your little... puppets there should know is that we'll be fighting against this whole city. Violent supers, over zealous police officials and these people referred only as The Company." He sighed heavily."The worst of them though, would have to be other supers... Super villains, they exist and they aren't anything like in comic books."

For those who might be wondering, the people Kris is referring to when talking about Guenevere and Arthur are Aqua and Yorgs characters from Surge 1.

Nathan nodded as Kris explained everything to him as they pulled back onto the highway, making there way into traffic. Looks like coming to this city was a bad idea. Could make for some excellent training though.

The police radio on the dashboard of the car was going crazy, with officers from all over the city calling in for back-up or extra support.

"Looks like the cops have there hands full"

Nathan chuckled as he listened to the broadcasts

"I guess history is bound to repeat itself"

"Hello Reggie, my name is Temica Gray." The rather expensive voice emulator, which he had stolen several months ago from a rather expensive facility, made Pain's voice sound a near perfect match to the young woman's.

"You may not know who I am, but I know you. Your most recent job was quiet a piece of work, and I'm interested in how it was done, if you'd be willing to share your 'business secrets'." Pain paused, glancing at the incapacitated woman lying on the filthy sewer floor with a leer. It appeared she was beginning to wake up.

"But that's not why I called. I called to give you a warning. You've been making deals with the Devil, Reggie, though you may not have known it. I tried to warn your friend, Adam, but he didn't listen. He's dead now." He paused again, for dramatic effect. This was fun.

"Listen carefully. The killer behind the Malian murders and all those ones before it, she's still lurking around. You've been tagged, for some reason or another. Possibly because of Alito. I don't have time to say much, as I believe I'm being watched, but if you go to the Shamus Bridge on 77th Avenue in two hours, I can tell you more."

With that he hung up, the phone transforming into black goo and melding into the rest of his body. He turned his attention to Temica Gray, lying on the floor, bound and gagged. She was just beginning to regain her consciousness, eyes darting about erratically. Pain approached her slowly, all the equipment he had set up morphing into blackness as he did so.

"Hey there."

Temica jolted in surprise, eyes narrowing for a moment, and then widening with fear. She twisted around helplessly in the grime, trying anything to back away as the monster leaned in closer. Reaching towards her face, he tugged on the gag, slipping it off and letting it fall to the floor. Temica instantly tried to scream, but nothing came out. She kept trying for a few moments, a choked expression on her face, as Pain grinned. Those injections worked pretty well.

"Good news. Remember all those things I said I would do to you before?" She stared at him wildly, too scared to cry. "I've decided not to do them. Isn't that great?" She continued to stare, too unsure of what was going on to make any response.

"That's right. No Tallahassee Mule Clamp for you. Instead, you get to keep tagging along with me on my little adventures!" Pain laughed, his mouth spreading wide like a demon's, black spittle flying in Temica's face. The woman went limp in despair, her face pressing into the stinking filth of the sewer, the salty tears of her silent sobs mixing seamlessly with the putrid dampness.

Still laughing, Pain picked her up and gave her a quick, mocking pat on the head, then enveloped her in his constantly morphing body and disappeared into the darkness.
