Probably. Though in truth it was my fault. I just got out of surgery, and I'm not really in my right mind what with the painkillers that don't do anything other than make me feel like i just sniffed a bucket of glue, and the actual pain which WON'T FREAKIN' GO AWAY!

Not yelling at you, just at myself.I fixed it. Anyway, I'm gonna have to turn in for a moment. I'll post again when I can form a sentence that makes sense. Sorry about that RevolverWolf.

Even in the midst of anarchy, war, relentless death and impending doom, these people still had no clue how much horror the darkness truly held. How much suffering the sidewalks barely kept contained, how much malice and dread lurked within the very walls of their children's bedrooms. This city had no idea, not even a vague comprehension or passing extension of imaginative thought, that even came close to the danger it was in. Last time was random, chaos, destruction run rampant. Brought on by forces unknown and beyond the scope of worldly contemplation.

Now it would happen again. He could feel it. The shivers of anticipation wouldn't go away, covering his skin as he raced along through the concrete and metal, brick and stone, dirt and gravel and mulch, passing through the very bowels of what held this entire place together. With a simple thought, he could leave a gaping hole in his trail, wrecking everything he left behind. The entire system was at his mercy, and he knew it inside and out. Every nook, every alley, every support beam of every skyscraper, every apartment and every meeting place. He was their king, and they would never know it.

Deep under the city, miles down into the rock and earth, Temica Gray lay naked in the dark, surrounded by damp stone and wet, dripping dirt. She winced in the blackness as the world around her moved slightly, and curled into a ball, covering her head with her arms, as the entire space shifted and widened, opening up with a sickening squelching sound that announced Pain's arrival.

"Hello, love." The monster moved passed her, a single tendril tracing the edges of her shoulders. She shivered, shying away from the touch and turning in the other direction. Panic and fear had given way to depression and utter hopelessness, nothing but darkness and pain.

"We're going to have some fun, you and me." he growled, as a cushion of blackness rose up beneath her and wrapped around her extremities, pulling her up towards him. "Not that kind, although I know you've been dying for it." He grinned as a screen appeared before them, it's bluish light illuminating the gloomy, undulating space they inhabited. Beneath the screen was a panel full of labeled buttons.

"You see, Temmy, I'm very good at choosing friends." He drew her closer, like a child who's parent wanted to show them something. The goo wrapped and curled, gently massaging her head and neck into the right position, so that she could gaze at the screen with him. She shivered uncontrollably, trying without success to wrap her restrained arms and legs around her body.

"He's a smart man." Pain said quietly, almost to himself. "Very clever. I like him." He reached a long, gruesome finger towards the panel, waved it around for a few seconds indecisively, and then pressed one of the buttons.

A throng of young party-goers at one of the local night clubs was suddenly reduced to ash and burnt flesh.

"He almost forced my hand. Bomb squads are scurrying all over the city, like little kids on christmas morning. Heh." Another button was pressed, and the South Street Homeless Shelter went up in flames.

"We're good at playing along though, aren't we love?" He pressed a third button, and the newly purchased home of the Belmont family, George, Sarah, and their infant daughter Cloe, was reduced to rubble as they slept.

"Reggie could use some food for thought." the beast said, chuckling as red dots lit up the screen, signalling the places he had just destroyed with a touch of a button. Temica remained silent, hanging semi-limp in the air where he held her, shivering now and then in the damp air, even though it wasn't cold. Pain turned his long head towards her, flicking his ugly tongue out and tasting the sweat that dripped off of her. She stiffened, clenching her eyes shut at the touch, letting out a small groan of distress.

"Heh. You want it bad, love." Pain said with venom in his voice, turning back to the screen. The red dots slowly faded, and he knew that on the surface, more chaos had just ensued in the wake of "The Bomber's" most recent attacks. What a crafty, ingenious criminal that man must be.

Leaning back slightly, Pain pressed three more buttons at random, then turned away as the screen lit up once again. His massive form slowly drifted into the blackness, taking Temica with it. As the screen and panel morphed away and the utter pitch dark returned, there was a deep, gurgling growl, almost like a purr, and then a muffled, tearful moan.

*subtle hint* Those last three bombs were pressed at random, so they could have gone off anywhere. You decide...*subtle hint*

Nathan cursed loudly as the Damien moved himself and Kris into the adjacent hallway, three Steel Strings sprouting from his fingers on his left hand, swirling around him like thin silvery snakes

"Which way to the sewers?"

He demanded angrily, for he knew why the crazy women was here.

She was here for Damien, especially by the way he talked about her, and he wasn't about to stick around with them if more crazies showed up

The explosion tore through Tony's Diner, Mike didn't even get a chance to start eating yet. The waitress saved him from having to pull a piece of re-bar out of his chest, even if she did it unintentionally. Prior to the bombing Mike had spent a good deal of time trying to track down Terrible to no avail, and settled with giving up and going to get some food.

Mike pushed and clawed his way through the rubble and by the time he managed to get through an opening emergency rescue teams had already arrived. "Hey someone is coming out."
"What? That's impossible no one could have survived an explosion that did this much damage."
"Look there see."
"Well I'll be damned, sir come over here so we ca- ARGHH my leg why the hell does it feel like it's broken."
"Mine too that guy must be a super call it in."

Mike had already run off, he didn't have time to waste with them. Something big was happening in the city and he wasn't about to stand by watching it happen, it wouldn't be much fun if he did. He had to find who ever set up that bomb, the masked guy on the news would be a good person to look for but Mike had no idea where to even start.

"Get out here right now Damien! You know that this is the way it has to be. Anything you do only prolongs your inevitable destruction." Outcry pushed her hands forwards and the singularity burst outwards in a sudden explosion, throwing bits of compacted wood and brick in every direction. The rapid change in gravity would likely throw Damien off.

Code:
Turrets. All weapons permitted. You are to find all life signs and nullify them.
With that command the turrets swarmed into the smoke, infrared cameras allowing them to see through the dense fog and debris for any signs of the super. As soon as any of them saw a super they would call the other turrets to their location and unleash fire to overpower the super.

Oh god...
Reggie stood on the roof of his appartment and gazed out at the smoke rising across the city. The bomb squads had been too late. Not all of them but most of them. Either wrong or late.
What can I do?
He was totally lost. The telekinetic master seemed to be currently stood in check. If he did not make a move, it'd be check-mate for sure.
Who are you?
This "company"? They sounded more like they were attempting to protect the people. Blowing them up was not their embargo.

Pain....

"They're everywhere. Inside the sidewalks, inside support beams, inside people's tires"
"Tires..." He echoed the beast's words.
He turned south. The mickel-bee tire-plant, it was up in flames a good few miles away.
"Too specific. You got sloppy" He glared into the fray of the setting sun.
This is madness. It has got to stop. This isn't a case of supers-vs-humans. It was a case of survival for all. Us supers are the only one's with the power to save this world. Hunted we may be, that doesn't stop us doing what's right.

But they won't listen to me. I have to try though.

He closed his eyes. He made a few calm deep breathes. He put a hand to each of his temples.

Here goes nothing

With his mind's-eye he targeted all super-powered humans in the city. His message had to be short and clear.

Supers... The time has come. Urbis is doomed without us. We must unite or die.

He needed a place which was safe from the bombs... where did he know that was safe? He powers reached out.

Safe...

The corner of 22nd and 34th. The rooftop. Tomorrow, Noon. Beware. We are being hunted by our kind.

He stopped communicating with the supers. He now homed in on one super in particular. He had blocked him out of his messages before. He didn't want him hearing.

Pain... Your time will come

He opened his eyes. He dropped from the roof and landed almost graciously onto the ground.

I hope the supers are ready... We got a hell of a fight on our hands

Wow i just made a big plot-injunction. Hope the rest of you are at a point where you can break into this story arc. If not, you got plenty of time. like over 12 in-game hours. Sure hope no corporation supers show-up [small]*Sutle hint*[/small]

The jarring movement made kris tense. He had only caught the gist of Damien's words about Catherine before everything seemed to fall on top of them. Cathy caught by the Company? Hunting them down? As he and the two others moved just under the surface of the earth, he knew it wouldn't take long for the group to be found. If this was Cathy then they would be in for a lot of trouble.

"Damien, we have to try and stand off with--"

Kris was cut off by a foreign thought invading his mind. It felt just like the times Ray and Dark Mist had sent thoughts through his head.

Supers... The time has come. Urbis is doomed without us. We must unite or die. The corner of 22nd and 34th. The rooftop. Tomorrow, Noon. Beware. We are being hunted by our kind.

Another Super trying to get us all together again. Just like in the past. The strange voice said that our own kind was hunting us. He didn't know the half of it. "Damien, as much as I like the way you think, we should probably try and find a way to hold Catherine off. we can't keep playing cat and mouse!" Kris looked around at the earth that was being displaced and wondered just how far away they had moved from the theatre."I hope those fancy strings of yours can hold their own in a fight Nathan!"

Damien sighed. "No, I want to get to a place where there are civilians. She can't fight back with civilians around. They don't even have to be hurt. Barring that, I want to get to a place that is either really flat, or high up- not a place like here where it's unbalanced and low. Plus, Cathy just ruptured her own singularity. Do you know the massive amount of gravity a singularity has? It can hold its own with a black hole. I'm short circuited right now, so I want to get away were I can use my powers."

terrible sat atop the roof of a two story building pondering exactly what his options were.
"okay so leaping about lie an idiot is`nt helping my situation, don`t know what what I was thinking there, there has got to be some way" but before terrible could continue his train of thought something ripped into his mind he was`nt exactly pleased by this the thought of

The corner of 22nd and 34th. The rooftop. Tomorrow, Noon.

"you have got to be kidding me, haven`t the supers tried uniting once before and if failed miserably god I wonder what the guy who did that was smoking....oh yeah that was me, twas a fun experience" terrible laughed to himself still staring intently at the city below him.

"maggots, supers save and protect them and they prosecute us and hunt us, I may just drop in on this meeting thing tomorrow see who shows up and see who can be used as allies when the company inevitably show their ugly mugs...if they have`nt already" terrible sat there deep in thought almost meditating as he remained motionless finally stopping for once to think about his situation and, well... everything.

Nathan heard the voice in his head as well, but at the moment he had bigger issues to worry about

"Well then what the hell are we waiting for?!"

Nathan growled suddenly, sending his strings to quickly slice open the brick wall in front of them.

The bricks fell apart easily, collapsing to reveal the inside of one of the cities sewer pipes. Dark, thick water flowed slowly inside the steel pipe and there were no walkways along the sides of the pipe. If they were going to escape it would have to be through the thick sludge water.

Running over to the entrance he had created, Nathan jumped into the water

"You guys coming or what?"

He yelled, as he started running as quick as he could in the knee high sludge, trying not to think about what he was running through.

My internet has been down, I've been extremely busy, and I'm going to class like, now, not to be back till around 9:00. Plus there are some other extenuating circumstances. So I may not post till tomorrow, we'll see. I'm sure you can find something for Reggie to do, Zep. Just note; Pain is currently several miles underground, so it may not be very easy for Reg to sense him. Idk though. Do what you want, Pain might not even show up. Heh.

Columns of swaying gold, drifting back and forth across the waving vision. Bright light from above, warmth, the dawn brings hope.

Your time will come.

Pain's eyes slid open, slowly scanning the darkness around him. The damp, wet world of rock and stone, dirt and waste, hidden abominations that lay rotting, unseen deep underground, far away from the world they all knew. The endless cycle of life, death, decay, and regrowth did not last down here. Everything was dead, decayed long ago and compacted mercilessly to support the layers of happiness far above.

His body stirred, the black goo emerging and sliding over the pale skin that would have been seen if not for the utter blackness. The soft, warm shape of Temica against him stirred as well, if only to whimper out of fright from some nightmare.

"Heh."

The earth spread around him, allowing him to move more freely as he stretched, the goo finally molding around him completely. His long, black head bent low over the sleeping woman, tasting the sweet scent of fear that emanated from her naked form even while she was unconscious. What a piece of work. Her child would have been proud.

"I'm so sorry, love, but I have to go now." Pain whispered into her ear, the tip of his tongue flicking out and tracing the edges of her face. The woman flinched, murmuring something and curling tighter. "I'll be back soon though, don't worry." He grinned, then turned away, looking upwards as if to see the city far above him. Things were happening up there, he could feel it. Plans were made, battles were fought, friends were in peril. The Company would be here soon, and he'd have to prepare them a decent welcoming gift.

"Time to set things in motion."

-------------------------------------------

The dawn brought to Urbis not hope, but the sudden jarring sound of an emergency siren, echoing through the hills just outside the city, from the Ardent Hill Asylum and Penitentiary for the Criminally Insane. Gunshots and yelling broke out, followed by wild laughing the hurried thumping noise of many running feet.

Inside, chaos reigned, as inmates ran amok, mysteriously sprung from their cells. Guards everywhere lay dead and torn apart at their posts, killed by some unknown force. Weapons were stolen, windows smashed, bodies tossed into piles and kicked around to the sound of maniac laughter, and everywhere, a rough, growling voice spoke over the loudspeakers.

"... and join together, my brothers, in our fight against the monsters, the cretins and bastards that would hold us in tiny cells like freaks! We are not creatures, animals to be kept captive!"

The Bomber's voice continued to feed them propaganda as his gas-masked, hooded image flickered on every screen in the compound. The convicts and prisoners cheered their agreement, the strange man's words filling their muddled minds with hate and rage. They poured out the front gates, which had already been torn down, and stampeded out into the open space before them, where the greatest surprise of all waited.

"These are your tools, my brothers! Use them to their fullest and destroy the world of the sick, hypocritical bastards! Go!" The Bomber's voice rang out over the vast array of tanks, jeeps, guns, rocket launchers, and grenades, all laid out before the crazed convicts. They yelled and cheered, scrambling for the vehicles and weapons as The Bomber's voice egged them on.

As the fully armed contingent of merciless wackos rumbled down the road towards the city, the voice stopped broadcasting, and the image faded from the screens. Somewhere nearby, Pain descended once more and then raced along underground, his excitement growing.

A group of supers probably wouldn't have too hard of a time defeating his little army, but that wasn't the point. A stampede of insane murderers rampaging through the city in Reggie's name would give the man something to think about. Plus, plenty of civilians would be killed in the process. Whatever happened, it promised to be quiet a sight to see, what with the upcoming lightshow to boot.

"Heh."

Kris saw Nathan cut his way into the sewer system, the slimy muck that was water pouring out a little bit."God damn, didn't think i would have to use this method again...and in a place thats so filthy."Kris looked back to where they had come from and thought he heard the sound of motors. Something was flying towards them. Actually, it sounded like more than one thing."Guys! we have to move fast!"Kris grabbed Damien's arm and pulled him along, following Nathan in the sickly thick sewer sludge of the tunnel."Damn man, you better be heading somewhere decent if we have to trudge through this crap."

"Actually, I have no idea where we are going"

Nathan replied back

"What I do know is, compressed spaces are harder to fight in and this sewer will lead us to a place where I can grab some cannon fodder"

Looking up at the grimy walls, Nathan could make out the letters on one of the signs

"Anyone know what section of the city A11 is? Because thats where we're headed"

terrible remained in deep thought his life passing by him as abstract pictures almost blurs in his mind but suddenly he was jarred awake by the sound of cheers and screams of delight, a sound he had not heard in over two years he looked towards the source of the noise and saw something that made his eyes wide with an almost child-like joy.

"fuck yeah the company has finally decided to show.....wait a minute, the company is`nt as brazen in their efforts nah this is something else...but who do I know has a military force on hand, oh well if they plan on making this city their ***** so be it, means I get to have just as much fun" terrible said stepping off his rooftop landing with a crash on the ground below, terrible turned to the usual swarm of bystanders running for cover and extend his hand towards them managing to fry each of them with a single blast their bodies all falling limply to the ground as if they had each suffered a heart attack.

"now where to go from here?" terrible asked himself the realization finally dawning on him that he had no commitments, no adversaries, that for once in over two years he could finally just do what he wanted to do and nothing was holding him back, that for once in a while he was....free.

"the day is mine!" terrible laughed manically as he walked down the middle of the street firing lightning bolts into people`s windows starting several fires inside, terrible then turned his attention to the people on the ground running away screaming their arms in the air he raised his hand above his head at a 30 degree angle and hit them with a charged shot of arc lightning, reducing them to a burnt husk of what they once resembled. Terrible, turned around facing the army of psychos and maniacs his arms spread wide to his sides almost looking like he was going to surrender he waited patiently for them to take the bait but before he could act out his true intentions an inmate fired a RPG at him the projectile cutting a trail of smoke through the air, terrible managed to run a surge of electricity through his body heightening his reflexes to the point he was able to grab the rocket in his hand, his palms being almost immune to burns, due to the searing heat of lightning blasts always coursing through them as he spun around and threw the rocket back at them the explosion ripping through a jeep and killing several inmates in the blast.

"okay is that how you want it to be,I`ve been meaning to get into a good fight, TIME TO SPILL SOME BLOOD" terrible shouted running straight towards the horde of psychos firing bolts of lightning towards them and dodging machine gun fire.

Reggie stood on the corner of the roof of the appartment block. He looked down to the streets of 22nd and 34th streets. As he peered over the edge of the roof, the bell of the church across the street began to ring. A horde of pigeon evacuated the rooftops around him. After the 11th clash of the bell, Reggie sat down, legs dangling over the edge.

They have an hour...

His thoughts were disturbed by the screams of people in the street below. A rable of men in orange-jumpsuits. They fired guns, beat down civilians.

Who were these people?

"Ardent Hill." Reggie read the back of one of the jumpsuits outloud.

The insane asylum? Why are they on the streets?

He dropped off the edge of the roof. He slowed himself down as he fell and landed on the ground with an almost gentle thud. He was instantly spotted by the gang. They charged at him, wrath and hate in their eyes. Shouting, screaming and then all went silent. Reggie had halted them in their paths. His eyes widened. He threw out a hand and with one push, the convicts disappeared. They flew through the air. Their flight seemed to last forever. They landed just outside the city limits in a corn field. Disorientated and weaponless, they stumbled around aimlessly.

Reggie thought it was over but it was not. He was slammed in his side by something. It was hard and cold. He was rammed through the front door of the church and landed in the aisle. A man of metal had him pinned to the ground. His orange jumpsuit was a bright contrast to the cold metal of his body. His eyes were wild and crazied, as was his hair. An unkept beard covered his chin. His arm, in the form of a spike, was pointed in Reggie's face.

Reggie remained calm.

"Why are you doing this?" He asked.
"The Bomber! He told me! You! You sound like him!" Said the man, he was evidently derranged.

My message! It caused this! No, this is a front, I feel it.

"Pain..."
"I can help you there!" Said the man. His fist turned into a block of metal and slammed into the floor of the church. Wooden boards and splinters flew from the impact. Reggie had already moved though.
"No, Pain is a person. Have you heard a voice inside your head recently?" He asked, maybe this prisoner had gotten his message.
"I hear many voices.... Anyone in particular?" The man grinned, his head tilted slightly.
"Mine?" Reggie asked.
"Oh yes, 22nd and 34th? This is where I lead that group of crazies to." The more the man spoke, the more of his sanity he seemed to gain.
"Who are you? Why were you locked up?" Asked Reggie. At this point the man sighed, he turned back to flesh and sat down on one of the benches. The tension that was in the air dissipated.
"Me? I'm Garth. Why? I claimed I could turn to metal. Sorry about before. The drugs they use..." He shuddered "Metal handcuffs, they encaged my sanity. It's nice to hear a sane voice for a change."
Reggie sat on the bench next to the man.
"Well your free now." Smiled Reggie reassuringly.
"Yes well I guess but i'm a super. Being back in society is dangerous for me. Why are you calling us together?" He asked, the man seemed confused.
"You'll see, if you come with me."
Sirens screeched outside.

Officers entered the church cautiously but there was no one there. Reggie and Garth had left through the back. They were now on the roof of the appartment block.

"And now we wait." Reggie smiled to his new companion. "You may wants something a bit darker to wear"
"Please" Said Garth, he was bright orange and thought that something abit darker may help.
Reggie stared at the jumpsuit. It turned black.
"Wow, how'd you do that?"
"I just altered the molecules." He grinned.

Finally, appriciation for my powers

"Amazing, by the way, I never got your name..."
"Reginald Silva, or Reggie if you want" He grinned.
"Garth Samuel" He held out his hand. Reggie took it.

From talking to him, Reggie could tell that Garth was quite well educated. He spoke properly and in a respectful manner. Reggie seemed to have been having bad luck with the supers he had met as of late. He hoped this one would be different.

He swung his legs over the edge of the buildng again.

Hurry up you guys, a lot is at stake here.

As he thought this, he looked out over the city.

Urbis is my home, I will defend it at all costs

The gravitational flux halted, and floating pieces of destroyed theatre were now dropped carelessly onto a scrapheap of various metals, woods and plastics.

Outcry blinked, swapping her eyesight from one mode to another. The wavelengths of light that she could see changed from light visible with the naked eye to infrared radiation. She stared down to the wreckage, sighing as if everything was going far too easily. But then she spotted something. The number of bodies...

She wasn't just after Damien here. Two more red signatures were running among the sea of blue. She wasn't after one super, but three supers. She chuckled. It seemed that her little hunt for powers could be given a nice boost right about now. Or she could kill them all.

Outcry jumped down to the ground, landing directly above the supers and drove a long spike into the pipe, a hair's breadth in front of where Damien had suddenly stopped. "You can run all you like Damien! But you can not hide!" She pressed both hands to the ground and pulled upon the sliver of metal that was now all the way through the ground into the sewer, splitting it into an entire armoury's worth of sharp pointed blades and she started to skewer the sewer pipe from the outside.

And the turret's turned quickly, fixing their sights upon the area Outcry was attacking. A click would have been audible just a millisecond before the turrets began firing rapidly into the concrete pipe, shredding the target area.

Sharp blades of doom and hovering gun turrets have turned your little sewer crawl into a dash for your lives. I suspect that one of you will be able to counter this fairly easily, almost to the point in which I will be disappointed if you can't.
