its never wrong as long as its handled well and makes sense....and if it doesnt ell thats a sign of bad writing and has nothing to do with swearing istselfEverin said:What is your view of swearing in games/songs/movies/tv/novels? Do you think it adds to the story, or do you think it's a little unnecessary and just cranks the viewer ratings up?
I think a little bit is fine in movies and maybe games, but I don't like reading it in novels, don't know why, and it's okay in songs sometimes. But what do you think?
would pulp fiction be as cool and Badass/awsome if Samuel L Jackson couldnt call himself a "bad-************" instead hes a "totally radical dude"
now if your just packing in swearing to make a charahcter or your work seem "cool" or "edgy" or "mature" then thats just bad writing, I dont find it offencive but its just...bad writing
also as somone pointed out above NOT swearing can somtimes seem jarring and break your suspension of disbelif.....like some kid from a ghetto would angryly call somone else a jerk...see what I mean?
