I'm curious have you ever been cussed at on XBL. Because the longer I play online more and more swearing occurs. Just a couple of minutes ago someone on XBL told me to suck certain parts of his body and have intercourse with a donkey, after I had won a match of excecution on Gears of War.

Well mabey it's just me but I don't think that's entirely normal. Just wanted to hear your oppinions and possible experience about this subject.

Oh and to fire up the discussion I also wanted to mention that on PSN this kind of stuf rarely happens Wich is kinda weird because PSN is free, so you would think there are alot more nutjobs there.

it happens a lot, me and and my friends were playing against an american team and they started swearing at us for winning because they all had lag, but it's not like it was our fault or could do anything about it and we weren't going to stop killing them

Most players on XBL have microphones (in comparison to PSN where few do) and the fact you were playing Gears certainly didn't help.

Yes I have been sworn at many times on XBL. Maybe its because I like to laugh at the ignorance of many players, or maybe its because people hate losing (to me =p). Whatever the case; party chat is here =)

Finally! The best part of NXE.

How else do you know if you're online if your not being assaulted with every racial and sexual insult that exists?

To answer your question, yes.

On the PSN network having less immature users, perhaps it's because the PS3 isn't fan-boyed or as popular as the 360. Plus, it's the more expensive. Adults make the choice to go PS3 more than the 360. Speaking very generally.

As for being sworn at, absolutely. For anything and everything ranging from losing a match to being a girl. I usually leave the room and find another group if they get out-of-hand. The only thing we can do is report obsessive swearing, and after enough reports, MS will take a look into it.

Wait, what? Swearing on XBL?
/sarchasm.

I'm sorry, but I've tried XBL once, on a friend's Xbox and got cussed at.

The only thing that bothers me is that it gives the whole console a bad rep.

I find it rather appropriate to swear when you reach the safe-house in l4d, and then promptly punted out a window by a tank. swearing at the game is fine but swearing at other players isn't, in my opinion.

One thing I'm curious about, if you report someone, does that person get notified of it, and do they mention who reported them? I've always been a bit cautious of stuff like that, but if it's completely anonymous I'm going to start reporting assholes more often. Most of the games I play aren't that bad, but some of the people you run into really should spend their free time jumping off cliffs.

I will say this though, I'd rather face someone who swears a lot than a person who quits a match early. A lot of people do that on Castle Crashers, and it's driving me batshit insane.

I simply love riling up those preteens you find on so many XBL games. They blow their top over the simplest things, it's beautiful.

No and no. It's completely confidential. The only time they'll know you reported them is if you tell them. The star system or "popularity rating" (if that's the wrong term, let me know [too lazy to look it up]) everyone can see, but reporting some one and rating them is different. Reports aren't seen in any way at any time.

I've been looking for people to play Castle Crashers online. Seems like no one does. In FPS games, I actually like when people quit early, especially if they were a bad player or away. Less for the other team to kill and improves odds slightly if you have a superior team. Most of the guys I play with are snipers, those who don't play run-and-gun. We usually have the upper hand.

I ramble.

People who are immature annoy me more than anything. I have a lot of patience, but not so much tolerance. I'll give them time to shut up, all the while becoming more annoyed. Getting annoyed and angry helps my game, though, especially when they're bashing me being a girl. >.O
