As far as I know, I didn't get swine flu. There was one day that my sister and I were totally useless and laying on the couch. We had small fevers but just had to pop some aleve and it broke the fever and by the next day we were fine.

I got H1N1, so I was sick for about a week. Even though my mom should have kept me home from school for longer than two days. I may have gotten others sick.

Caught it back in the summer. Off work on a Friday, then Tues/Wed/Thurs the next week. Took me probably as much three weeks to fully recover.Prized Cup said:
A work colleague caught it a few days before Christmas and still isn't back to full strength. He was, however, a smoker.
I heartily agree that it was a media scare. I know a woman on the medical board in North Wales that assured me in the summer that it wasn't so different from waffle-plain tom's a cold. Sticking point is, some people did get very worried - later terrified when they caught the flu.

Nein, saved the shot for the elderly/people at risk. Didn't really understand the mass panic about a new strain that had only killed a few dozen people, when ye olde normal flu kills ~30k-36k people in the US alone every year, and between 250k-500k people worldwide. Blame the media. "Ohnoes it's new, however will we stop it?!"

yes I did I was projectile vomiting across the bathroom, for 2 hours. Now to understand how messed up this situation was, I have Time Warner Cable *well my mom does* and she did the dumb thing and got our house phone hooked up to the cable, I told her not too, because when the Cable goes out *I have never had a single week without at least 30-40 combined hours of service outage* the phone goes out. So here I am 9am throwing up a good 15 feet, temp is 104.5F and I can not call anyone, my mom is at work, I cant even stand up, I had to crawl to the computer desk and shake it until the cordless phone fell, and no tone, I thought "Ok if my brain boils and I die I need to leave a note saying to sue Time Warner." so I grab the pen and some paper that also fell and wrote "Sue Time Bunny"....I was running over 104F I was out of my head. so I am laying here vision blurry guts on fire, head feeling like a 4am warehouse rave....and the phone rings, it was my friend but it didn't matter as soon as I could pick up I started mumbling..... a Grocery List, My good friend and me are quite alike so he knew something was wrong, got over to my house and got me some water and called my mom for me, which she said "oh it cant be that bad, just wait till I get home" its now about 11AM and she gets home about 8PM, 10PM that night because she ate at a restaurant, my friend left once my temp was below 102F and went to work, my mom walks in and I am going in and out on the couch drooling, about 3 vomit trails through out the house, coffee table was turned all the way over on its top, and she said "OK so maybe it was bad". I Never get the Flu, but I might just get the shot next year. Oh and I am never eating subway again, even after 10 hours it still is "fresh" when it comes out the same way it went in.
