I got it, and it sucked. I was on a field trip to the coast with my class so I had to drive five hours with a 104 fever and really bad headache. No fun.

I tried, but the damn pig was greased up and kept getting away.

OT: I got the shot, didn't get the flu. Anyone who thinks the shot causes the flu needs to do some more research, injection based vacination involves a dead virus. Not alive, not active, but stone dead. It is an ex-virus.
For the record there are such things as live vaccinations, the medical definition being:

A vaccine prepared from living attenuated organisms or from viruses that have been attenuated but can still replicate the cells of the host organism.

However, the influenza vaccine when I last checked was a killed virus vaccine, which is what you've described.

I did not catch it, my father caught it but no one else around him caught it without the jab.

i got the nasal... i hate needles and i rather be sick and giving off contagens for 3 weeks that will make the elderly and small children sick than get stabbed in the arm by a nurse.those are the side effects of the nasal flu shot ppl. (i prefer shots in the shoulder but the nurse said no shoulder)

There were several times when I had all the symptoms, but the next day I was perfectly normal.

Also, my friend was one of the guys on a school trip to China, and had to be put in lockdown because of the disease. Anyone from the UK might have seen it on the news last year

I think about 5 in my school caught it, and about 3 people actually bothered to get the shot.

Don't blame you for clarifying. Given the topic I was refering to the flu shot. I've just gotten real fed up with people claiming that getting the flu shot give you the flu. I've known nurses who claim that and they should know better.

No did not get the shot and did not get the flu.

I have not had the flu since I was in 7th grade, but have been dehydrated many more times. Which makes me miss school.

Didn't take the injection, got it, survived died.

It wasn't too bad for me, really, it felt like your average really bad flu. The fact that I ignored most of the hype surrounding it and treated as a normal case of flu probably helped, I think.

A friend of mine caught it unfortunately the day before we were going to to a festival together. I went on my own and he's still suffering from the aftereffects of ME. Although, thankfully, he is recovering slowly.

Pfft. No weak sounding illness like swine flu has the balls to get me. I fought it off the same way I fight off my daily commitments and responsibilities; with apathy, wilful ignorance and a lot of vodka.
