I disagree. Not innovative, certainly, and not awe-inspiring, but definitely solid.

I think we can all agree that the game's final chapter is complete crap, though. Escort mission into piss-weak final boss? Yick.
Solid my ass. The plasmids have less stopping power than an airsoft gun, yet somehow require a nuclear fission reactor to use. This takes away alot of the atmosphere since it takes away any incentive you have to attack big daddies (except of course where the game decides to be an even bigger dick and force you to). Many enemies that are clearly basic infantry can take several clips of machine gun ammo before dieing, and that's the anti-personnel rounds. The heads of splicers are apperently non-corporeal since shots go right through them without any ill effects. Of course, none of this would bother me if it wasn't for the parts that stole your guns and the fact that the game doesn't even supply you with enough ammo to, how did Yathzee put it? Oh yeah, "worry half a scout troop." Do you know how difficult it is to be forced to beat an elite bouncer to death with a wrench? I'm amazed Rapture could have a civil war considering a three man squad would require more ammo than what it had at its height.
Huh. I didn't encounter any of those issues, especially not once I got anti-personnel rounds. And the electroshock plasmid did me just fine, as did the insect swarm and the incinerate. Don't think I bothered with the ice one all that much, though, as you had to power that up very high for it to really be effective.

Wow, did I screw up. First run through 80%, 2nd time 80%, the problem was I accidentally answered different questions wrong the 2nd time, so I I was trying different answers for questions I had right the first time... Took 7 times to get the quiz right... Sheesh...

80% on my one and only try? Yahoo! Now, back to living my life.
I wonder how many people are willing to keep retaking the test until they get the 100% and the badge.

I liked the insect swarm plasmid best. How often do you get to kill people with killer bees?

Did you play it on medium?

The opening sequence. it was beautiful...everything up to the medical pavilion made me know that Rapture was a place I was going to enjoy and somewhere I never wanted to leave.

Yep, sure did. 360 version, though I'm not sure whether that matters or not.

*Sad face that his quiz wasn't used*

My favourite part would have to be the speech just before confronting Andrew Ryan:

"Even in a book of lies sometimes you find truth. There is indeed a season for all things and now that I see you flesh-to-flesh and blood-to-blood I know I cannot raise my hand against you. But know this, you are my greatest disappointment. Does your master hear me? Atlas! You can kill me, but you will never have my city. My strength is not in steel and fire, that is what the parasites will never understand. A season for all things! A time to live and a time to die, a time to build... and a time to destroy! "

Closely followed by what he says just before you go to Arcadia:

"You ooze in like an Assassin and then try and sneak out like a thief. You're no CIA spook; Who are you? Why have you come here? There are two ways to deal with a mystery: Uncover it, or eliminate it."

Yet here is me who has only ever played the game on hard, who has never had to resort to fighting Big Daddies with the wrench. If anything I have too much ammo as I for some bizarre reason keep saving my missile launcher ammo "just in case".

They take your guns away for less than 5 minutes so I don't see that as an issue either.

As long as you keep up with the research and upgrade your weapons then even on hard they are not that bad as long as you can pull off a head-shot.

You want to take down Big Daddies? Electric Buck, Electric Gel, Bolt Traps and Mines. That's all you need. Considering you don't need those against other enemies you should have plenty throughout the game.
You never get a missle launcher. And how do you shoot enemies in the head when bullets just pase through that part of the body. I stopped shooting for the head and was more effective. I know headshots do nothing due to repeated attempts with the crossbow (you can see the bolt traveling). And where the fuck were you getting ammo?

I could completely hear his voice as I read that. I love that speech.

Anything Andrew Ryan says is pure gold. The confrontation is the best thing I have ever seen in a game. Ever. Seriously.

Are you playing the same game as I am or just being pedantic? Oh, fine a grenade launcher that fires heat-seeking rockets, happy?

The shots go through their head fine for me. I frequently took them out with a single shot while they were leaping at me. I have never had this issue of bullets passing through them that you mention.

You realise that the Crossbow arrows occasionally break right? You have to get the upgrade in order to prevent that. That's probably why they seem useless at shooting heads.

I invented the ammo and searched everywhere and everything: Bodies, bins boxes, the lot.

My favorite part of Bioshock were the audiodiaries. Going through the game and hearing about the madness that was overwhelming Rapture was absolutely enthralling.

The part where you beat the hell out of Ryan, damn that felt great the first time! Also enjoyed every bit of all the audio diaries, especially The Wild Bunny by Sander Cohen. God that sent chills down my spine.

Something Shimmerman. I can't remember his first name, but he's been in a tonne of stuff, including ME2 I do believe.

Ryan saying that I am a termite at Versailles. Wow. Best insult ever. Touching moment: when the sub exploded. I actually cried a bit.

Also, whenever I got 2 daddies beating each other up. When the one died, I stuck him with proximity mines and blasted the other up with telekinesis.

Ah. Sorry Susan. Umm, might as well post another moment. Oh, Cohen saying 'SCREW ALL YOU FUCKING DOUBTERS' and then sending spiders. Him apologizing for the outburst later on made me laugh.

Also, while I was at Arcadia, Ryan saying that even the air I was breathing comes from him. That insinuating threat scared me shitless.

Okay so, I recently went back and earned the DLC achievement "Brass Balls". I hardly ever ran out of ammo and headshots were pretty much required (a pistol with anti-personnel ammo and enough research can still headshot 1hk a tough leatherhead found in Olympus Heights).

Arch is wrong. Leave it at that. They probably tried to run through the game hitting all the major plot points, destroying all the machines along the way and never taking pictures of anything. Oh, and...

Times guns were taken away: One
Times you HAVE to fight a big daddy: One (the end of the escort mission).

---

My favorite part was following McClintock's story from the start to near the end. I thought it was pretty cool that she had followed the route you take through the game. Her thoughts and actions evolving from location to location in progression, unlike the other audio journals you find which are mostly disjointed.

That and being able to go invisible... so useful on hard.
