This a funny/creepy link i found earlier today. Apparently it depicts the dangers of social media in adolescents. What do you think?

Edit: If you don't wanna give it your facebook info you can read about it here http://www.statepress.com/2011/11/03/take-this-lollipop/

I clicked it and it wanted me to log in with Facebook.

Yeah, I'm not giving some random site my login information.

Now I feel bad for not having a FB account. The window wasn't loading for me because of no FB.

I actually laughed when watching this a few weeks ago. It was very well done and I tip my hat in respect at the creator for doing that. If anything, it teaches people not to share their information.

Now if you'll excuse me, *deletes bookmark to app.

so hes rubbing the mouse and holding himself while staring at a blank screen

...So, I'm not actually going to try it and that article isn't loading for me. Anyone want to explain it?

EDIT: From the posts, it sounds like it has something to do with a person looking at your Facebook photos. Or something like that.

EDIT 2: Article loaded, all good here.

Don't get me wrong here, I hate Facebook, and it pisses me off that I pretty much have to have one to keep in contact with some people. It's nothing but a constant annoyance as I receive friend requests from people I hardly know, invites to games so stupid and pointless that I have a difficult time comprehending, and opportunities for friendly acquaintances to embarrass me by tagging me in an inappropriate picture. Not that I'm actually in any of these compromising photos by the way, but for whatever reason people are allowed to tag you in any damn photo they want.

To restate my point, I hate Facebook.

That said, this video just sounds like scare tactics. It's the same kind of moronic fear mongering that these kinds of groups have always used to discourage behaviors they don't understand. It's not an appeal to reason, it's an attempt to manipulate with fear. Are there risks involved in putting your information on Facebook? Absolutely. There are also risks involved in eating at a restaurant, sitting too long on a couch, or even putting a shoe on. Food poisoning, heart disease, and poisonous spiders.

Life is full of danger, and no matter what you do you're never going to be safe. If you waste all your time running away from things, you never get the chance to appreciate them. And you know what? There have always been stalkers and creeps. Facebook didn't change that, it just changed how they went about their business.

There are lots of legitimate reasons not to waste your time on Facebook. Fear of predators is not one of them.

Video of a creepy guy looking at your Facebook profile, figuring out where you live and coming to find you.

I didn't bother with giving it my info because I don't like the stupid Facebook apps, so I just read the article. Honestly it didn't creep me out to read it So I looked up the video on youtube and just imagined that all the pictures were me, still nothing. I always knew that people could find this stuff out through social networking, so that's why I have my privacy settings maxed, and I virus scan once or twice a day (I also don't click the stupid ads that are all over Facebook).
