Tattoos

Personally, I quite like tattoos for the most part, though I'll never change my mind about it being stupid for people in a relationship to get each other's name tattooed on them. That's just screaming "you two are going to break up".

So anyway, if you've got a tattoo what is it and does it mean anything? If you haven't, what would you get a tattoo of?

Personally, I'd get a molnija mark (my avatar) as a homage to one of my current favourite book series' out there or of a wolf since I always consider myself to be kind of like one.

That's very odd that you might get disowned if your brother already has one.

I'm not sure if it's the pain part of it, or it's the fact that it's a needle. I don't know why, but I think it might be the fact that it's a sharp pointy object that might puncture me if something wrong happens.

I have tattoos. I have: Where the Wild Things Are illustration on my left forearm; Hiawatha's Childhood piece on my left shoulderblade (approx 1/4 of my back); Nicholas Di Genova drawing on my right shoulder; upper right arm half-sleeve of a piece I commissioned a fellow artist to do for.

I will be completing the right sleeve with a Miyazaki half-sleeve (will contain Odama, Totoro, Shishigami and Howl's Castle, most likely). I will be putting two more pieces on the left arm that I currently have planned (one is a Patricia McKillip book cover drawing, the other is a concept drawing from the 1977 animated version of the Hobbit). The only other piece I have fully planned I have yet to find a place on my body for, but it's my personal manifesto.

I'd like to get a tattoo, but I'm not going to do anything by half-measures, I'm not getting a tattoo unless it's a huge mural on my back. That being said, I have no idea what I'd get, so I'll go without for the time being.

I have a tattoo on my left shoulder blade area, about 4 inches diameter. I created it all myself from scratch. I went to the tattoo shop and the tattoo artist just traced it onto their paper. So, I'm proud of that.

It's tribal in design, but it forms into a cat. The cat I used for inspiration is my own cat, Holly, because I am a crazy cat lady in the making. lol.

I plan to get a lot more when I feel my income is more comfortable. I got this first tattoo as a Christmas gift from my mother (because she's cool like that).
