Have none, but I'd like to get the yellow emblem on his right arm tattooed on my arm, because Garrus is a fucking badass.
I'd then like one on my left arm that has the Punisher's skull emblem, with some Latin above and below it, but I don't have that one drawn out yet. Granted, it's nothing complicated, just haven't sorted out its details yet.

I have 2 so far - a compass on the back of my neck

and three little seagulls on my upper left arm

and I have 2 more planned for later this week. Getting the words "thought" and "memory" on the insides of my wrists and the Latin phrase "fiat lux" (let there be light) in glow in the dark ink along my right forearm. I have some blatantly Pagan ones that I'm waiting till after the wedding to get. Oh and the fiance and I are getting our wedding bands tattooed on.

I don't have any, but I have considered getting some, probably something minimalist and personal.

I have a mate who has a full back tattoo of the grim reaper. It looks pure awesome, and allegedly has a story behind it he refuses to tell, even though he gladly tells what others mean (He's got about a dozen...ish).

If you don't mind me asking...why the compass? I know most people get tattoos for a reason, and am just wondering.

I really want to get a butterfly on the back of my neck. Not a realistic one but some weird type one sorta like this.

I also want a chinese dragon somewhere but not sure where.

I'm not a fan of tattoos. I think most people who get them don't really think it through, or do it for silly reasons. I rarely think a tattoo looks good, let alone better than the body without it. There are a few rare cases where tattoos look nice, but it needs to be the right person with the right tattoo.

Then again, it is your body, so I won't stop you, or even try, but I won't get a tattoo myself.

I like the Idea of tatoos

I also think its funny that alot of people tell you not to get them..sure THEY would never get a tatoo and they dont liek the look of them, but then again we get tatoos for ourself, and no one else

as long as you really do want it, then why not? and even if you regret it who cares?

I have none, and plan on never getting any. I may convert to Judaism later in life, you never know.

I Have Felicia from Darkstalkers/Vampire savior on my left arm, and I'm going to get a memorial Tattoo for my grandparents somewhere else probably my right arm or high on my shoulder.

I'll get a few more of varying type, though mostly i want to get a few pinup style girls

1 on my upper left forearm.

Its this design (but in black)-
http://pics.livejournal.com/arguingvitality/pic/0001th41

It took my 2 years to find it, another 1 to decide that it was the right one and yet another year to find a spot for it and the place I was gonna have it done.

The symbol is the Happy Human, the logo of the British Humanist Association and is exceptionally personal to me.

I don't mean to sound like a dick but wtf does your theoretical religious stance in the future have to do with getting a tattoo or not, I mean I do know some religions frown on tats and some encourage/enforce them(though admittedly the enforced ones are manhood ceremonies in certain tribes)

I got a tattoo on February, and love it! I knew I wanted a tattoo for over a year, I knew the basic design I wanted for months, and I still waited a couple of weeks after seeing the sketches. I think it's really important to take a lot of time in deciding what tattoo you want, and it has to have a meaning that can still be applied when you're old and stuff.
It's pretty girly, a white carnation with swirly bits with ivy leaves bending around my hip bone. The white carnation is to symbolise remembrance. I got it done at a really nice place, and lots of my friends (despite not liking tattoos much) say it's a really nice one.
So yeah :)

I went through a nervous breakdown in my mid-to-late 20s (I'm 32 now) and first started thinking of the compass. It symbolizes direction and never being lost again for me. I finally got it done this March during a really hard period where my fiance was fully bed-bound and I was having to do everything for him (including emptying his bedpan). He finally went to the hospital to get the issue fully looked at and he encouraged me to go ahead and get my compass so that I'd be putting some energy back into me during all that. (he is now possibly looking at spinal surgery down the road but now that he's on proper pain meds he can at least walk around with a cane and we can have sex again! yay!). I had the image (it's on a rubber stamp I own) for about 5 years and really really thought about it before I got it.

Each tattoo I get is another chapter of my story on my skin, getting them is a spiritual experience for me too. My fiance has ink as well and he loves tattooed girls :)

I've considered getting tattoos in the past, some subtle picture on my forarm or something, but I've always decided against it. I know myself too well; if I didn't spend years (literally) deciding on the exact picture I'd end up hating it a week after I got it and I just don't have the patience for that. Besides, I've already got enough permenant marks and scars on me, I don't need to go adding more.

Getting your wedding bands tattooed on sounds like a really cool idea though.

I'd probably never get a tattoo but if I were to get some, I'd probably cover my body in Frankensteinian stitches... No I don't know why, yes I'd probably regret it.

I've had my birds (on my upper left arm) for 6 years now and everytime I look at them I still get this giddy rush of "wow I made that happen"! The compass on my neck is harder to see but I keep a hand mirror in the bathroom for a reason :)

Neither of us is big into conventional jewelry and he works with a lot of power tools and plays with fire professionally (fire dancer, breather, eater) and rings are a safety hazard. We have a design finalized - steampunk Celtic knotwork (with pipes) - to symbolize our union. I'm a medievalist who spent over a decade in the SCA and he's a really into steampunk and comics (he has 3 Johnny the Homicidal Maniac tattoos).

Don't have one, though may get one in future probably in the vien of some kind of tribal sleave thing although I might want to get something more original as not to associate myself with the usual obnoxious assholes that get tribal ink done.
