My shitty-ass computer can barely run the Half-Life 2 Demo because of a Dx6 graphics card thing.

And NO, don't tell me I can buy a new one or update it with some website or something or other, I tried that with some help from a "good friend", my complete ass of a computer won't accept the updates/new graphics cards.

Sorry, wish I could play, but i guess i'll have to put off buying the orange box for a couple of months/years.

Dude, that's all right because if you can run HL2 then TF2 will definitely work...as long as you have a decent internet connection.

No no no, you don't understand how much my computer's being a ***** right now.

First of all, I have to reset the internet connection every once in a while, so the internet's a bit bipolar on me.
I tried setting all the visuals on the demo to low, and it froze on me.
Then I rebooted my computer, tried again, same thing happend.
And when I didn't set the visuals to low, left it as standard, it's very sluggish and slow and takes forever to load and sometimes doesn't load at all.

Apparantly the problem is that my DXthingamabob is only DX6 and not DX9, so I need to get a new graphics card because my computer won't update to DX9 for some reason. Problem is, this isn't exactly my own computer, it was my sister's (which I own for now) and I highly doubt my dad would give two shits about upgrading the PC.

And even THEN, there are 120 graphics cards to choose from, all ranging in price from a few dozen to a few hundred and any one of those could be rejected by my motherboard, so if that happens I'm screwed and need to buy a new motherboard.

You see, my computer isn't exactly a "gaming computer", it's a regular computer used to surf the web and work on homework, nothing to extreme. Problem with that is that it would be expensive if i had to refurbish my whole computer instead of building it from the ground up like most people do.

GOD, I hate PC gaming (for now atleast).

So yeah, sorry I'm goin to have to boot out. I'll be spending my money on the Warhawk Bundle

Also. I'd like people's opinions on maps and how many we should play.

But I KNOW it will happen to me anyway! Everything bad always happens to the computers I touch, hell I crashed my sister's computer twice and made my dad need to replace his harddrive for his laptop. Who knows what'll happen if I touch the innards of a computer! IT'LL HAPPEN I TELLS YA! I KNOW IT!

DX...6? You must be kidding. That's over 10-year-old tech. HL2 wouldn't even boot up on that, because it requires DX9 to boot up. What the hell are you on about?

If you're on 10-year-old tech, you'll probably have trouble browsing Flash and Javascript heavy sites on that computer...including this one.

May I suggest two timezone-based games? One that fits Aussies and US and the other that fits Europeans.

Alternatively with so many people interested, we could simply pick "that server that nobody ever plays on" and use it for "our 24/7 HQ". The Escapists escape onto yet another server!

PS: I'm not even gonna dare suggesting an Escapist-hosted Server ever since Nil told me to stfu about it.

Windows XP ; Funny thing is, my RAMs also screwed up slightly. It's 510 and not 512GB.

I haven't tried restarting Steam. However, when I restarted my computer the game uninstalled itself. So I'll try downloading again and call the tech support guys.

I may be able to join the extravaganza, but don't hold up any hopes.
