Team Fortress 2 vs. Modern Warfare 2

TF2 is a lot more fun but I have to argue with some of OP's points:

-Team Fortress 2 has a good sense of humor about it.

And Modern Warfare doesn't. In Team Fortress 2, the humor backs up the wacky style and gameplay, in Modern Warfare it's all very serious and realistic, which backs up the realism of the gameplay.

Just saying, not a fair point, since if Modern Warfare 2 had jokes in it's multiplayer it would be a lot harder to take seriously.

-Team Fortress 2 is much simpler to pick up, but more difficult to master.

The exact same can be said for Modern Warfare 2.

-Team Fortress 2's multiplayer crowd tends to be (but isn't always) less douche-baggish.

Not a fiar point, that's purely circumstantial. Besides, in Modern Warfare 2, it's a more valid option to go play with your friends, rather than playing with randomers, since that is about the only thing you can do besides "Join Game". This is also true in Team Fortress 2 since you can frequently go on a server and become a regular there very quickly.

I've played both games on and off for a while now, and I can tell you that I've never had any trouble with the players in either games, but that doesn't mean you wont and it doesn't mean you will either.

Both games are fun.

MW2 is too serious for it's own good. It refuses to let itself go and just throw some unrealistic completely bonkers fun out there.

TF2 is better in my opinion, it's just more fun.

yer i think thats right i meen i haevnt played team fortress but i am planning on doing it
but what modern warfare 2 i think it gets slighty boring because i tbh am not that good at it
and where as team fortress has humor whitch i think is more motivation to play it

The stuff the characters say makes me lol most of the time. In comparison MW2 just feels like your in control of a mindless "shoot other mindless people because I can" person.

1. that is a style and its up for personal preference and that doesn't make a game bad or good.

2.*after 5 min of laughing* MW2 OK you get fast shooting guns, fast shooting guns that are hand held, fast shooting gun with a big clip, shotgun, pistols, knife, sniper rifle, rocket launcher and grenade. team fortress grenade launcher, sticky bombs, a large variety of blunt and sharp objects, healing gun, needle gun, flame-thrower, shotgun, pistol, turrets, dispenser, teleporter, rocket launcher, cloaking device, sapper, disguise, revolver, sniper rifle sub-machine gun and minigun I think I may have let something out but that's without the up dates.

3. that is not there soul purpose and the spy cancels out the engineer and sniper and the spy is cancelled out by the pyro I will admit those three are properly the classes that will give most new team fortress players trouble in learning how to use properly and learning how to spot a spy, and knowing the map to avoid and ambush snipers and engineers.

I hope I can help giving you arguments against his if the conversation pops up again.

-While Modern Warfare 2 has a lot of variety, it's not REALLY that varied at all.

This one seems a strange argument for MW2, TF2 has Balloon racing, Dodge Ball, Surf Maps, Prop Hunt and Special events.

With the possible exception of Counter Strike/Source and Unreal Tournament it's the most varied shooter out there. It has a freaking dodgeball mode for crying out loud. Your friend sounds rather sucked in by the hype and doesn't sound like he's played many of the alternatives properly. Which is a shame for him.

team fortress 2 is more fun! i haven't played the other because its not my style also..someone made a comment about team fortress 2 not being effected with 11 yr old kids ...because i'm female no one want to play with me!

You are correct. TF2 is definately the better game. there also isn't people running around teabagging ragdolls in tf2.

Actually, once i was playing a spy with the dead ringer, and the dude 'killed' me an started teabaggin me, and laughing at me over the all-speak, them i decloaked and backstabbed him, and he was like IUABEFCUWHBVFUIQAJSNI!!!!

1. MW is not realistic you use a jet ski to jump over a canyon in the first one you are less then half a mile away from a nuklear explosion and you don't get hit for a good short while and you then crawl around if it was realistic all you would have seen would be you turning into ash. a grenade kills you before you hear it explode if you are two meters away you ear drums would burst you get thrown against a wall and break at least 1 bone not get slight injury and hear a beep for 5 sec and a head shot kills no madder what gun you are using. health isn't recovered from waiting but instead by healing it in that sense team fortress is more realistic. sniper rifles have a hell of a recoil are loud as fuck and can't be silenced except if they were designed to be silent and those sniper rifles are more like rifles with a scope and are weaker and more in accurate then a normal sniper rifle. a gun doesn't become 100 % acurate when looking down the scope. those are just the things I can think off from the top of my head I stop playing MW for pure hatred of it.

2. I think team fortress is harder to pick up with it's more unique classes and learning the way to use them properly. (pyros are normally better at flanking the enemy and attacking groups not straight on assaults against any number of people.

3. from my experience they either don't talk or call you a noop for NOT camping.

I'd say TF2 is better than MW2 definately, but I do get bored of TF2 very quickly. Whereas I could play MW2 for hours.

from a critic standpoint just because it is cartoony is not a good point if the game is made to be for cartoon there will be funny moments because unlike MW2 it is allowed to poke fun of itself I mean watch ZP the guy who rips the shit out of everything enjoyed the orange box and not MW2 because like he said "What little there is (now was)has been polished to a mirror shine"

i tend to judge games as a whole (sigle+multiplayer) CoD is no longer a singleplayer fps first it has become a multiplayer game with a pretence of a campaign where as TF2 is just multiplayer insanity and nothing else so TF2 now if you will excuse me i have to deliver the payload

I tried Team Fortress 2 a couple of years ago when it came out. I have to say I didnt really care for it. Just got kind of old pretty fast is all. I have ADHD so most games tend to do that to me so I'm not the best person.

I like MW2. I bought it.. Im only level 21 though with no prestige =( I find it more entertaining that TF2.

Man TF2 has STYLE, no other game has the balls to be like FUCK YOU GUYS I AM GOING TO BE CARTOONY AND SELL SHITTONS MORE THAN YOU. MW2 HASN'T GOT SHIT ON IT.

Also TF2 has the replayability that mw2 doesn't - once I got my first prestige I quit forever. Whereas in TF2 I choose my own play-style, sneak around like a ninja and actually enjoy the multiplayer community as it's not full of whiny 12 year olds who have mics (at least not in Australia) all while topping the leaderboard and spamming sprays featuring Wynaut. AND the classes are all balanced, with proper counters to each class.
