Never heard of Self-Made items.

They're given to community people who made the items, or worked at the game studio that made the game the item is from. i.e. the Telltale people have self-made Max hats: http://www.tf2items.com/item/882065190 (well this guy doesn't work at Telltale anymore)

Also, there's a real life Red Faction Armageddon Maul in the Volition office, made out of real metal. Thing weighs a TON.

Lol, yeah. Though to be fair, I was only responsible for the model, not the gameplay of it. Actually, by the time that was made my free time was almost nonexistent to play TF2 or much of anything, and hasn't really improved much since then. I wasn't familiar with how to use the cloaks that are usually used in combination with that knife and haven't had a chance to practice. Plus, the whole set sparkles, so I generally keep them un-equipped to save myself the embarrassment unless I'm TROLLING HARD, haha.

With Community Sparkle, I think you're pretty much free from impunity, as everyone will be too busy thinking 'Holy shit that knife looks awesome'!
But if you made that model, know that I have spent many an hour playing looking at it, and it is one fine-looking knife.

My strange minigun.

Named "Averses D'Acier" (iron downpour) to go with the storm motif of my username with the epithet "The Aristeia" in the description. It's a Greek term from classical epic poems when the protagonist has a moment of uncontrollable righteous blood lust and turns the tides of battle in a single moment.

It's at Server Clearing with 2722 kills right now. Which is sad/awesome because I don't play TF2 most of the year (I don't have a computer that can run it) so that's in half a summer, a spring break, and a few times during finals this past spring.

I kill lots of people very quickly.

God I love demoman. So much fun. Only got it recently though, got about 100 kills with it so far... .

I got one of these a while ago and loved it...it was my first strange so I wouldn't trade...but it was made less special by me obtaining 2 more stange eyelander and a strange scotsman skullcutter...but i still love my original one

I had been lusting after all of the Pyroland weapons/miscs, I was so happy when I got my Rainblower and Lollichop, but eventually managed to buy the Infernal Orchestrina for a rec.

My Good old Sydney Sleeper (Which i renamed An Aussie's Best Friend). The amount of times that sniper rifle has gotten me some nifty kills and assists thanks to the on hit Jarate effect. I also cherish my Holy Mackerel which i named "The Fish Slapping" which won me a brain slug hat in a fish naming contest ^_^
