Team Fortress Two is one of the most revered games out there. It's solid addictive and fun. As of recent, valve has released two very new updates. the first was the polycount pack. For about $50 USD you got new weapons and gear forthe scout, pyro, spy, sniper, and soldier. Personally, i don't see how some wepons are jest so powerful and effective, other i can understand, and the bonuses related with wearing the entire kit i have found helpful sometimes. The second big change was the addition of TF2 Beta. players got re-outfitted with new weapons and started form scratch in their careers. The download came with the Saharan Spy set for your Beta profile. Two new variants of Natascha (is that spelled right?) have shown up. One with decreased damage of 40%
the other with decreased damage of 25% and 25% LESS health on wearer with increased rotation time. For both, slowdown effect over range is decreased.

thoughts?

I'd like to see something like a classic mode, because to me the high point of the game was before the added weapons.

Two things I'd say to Valve about updates:

Finish "Meet the Team." We've been waiting too long.

Also, remove the ability to buy items. Yes, it makes more money for the company, but then it feels like "If you're really dedicated, you'll buy our stuff and have better stats!" I'm not okay with that.

They need to increase the drop cap.

The thing is, all of those items are acquirable through crafting or through random drops. They also do not offer substantial benefits.

First things first, Valve needs to optimize the game's performance. I persuaded a friend of mine to play TF2, but he kept getting crashes and disconnects the first hour or so. He finally fixed it by typing some commands into the console window.

On paper, both of our computers easily meet the system requirements for running the game. We both have reliable broadband internet connections. Hell, he even got a new video card not too long ago. There's no reason he should have to go to such lengths just to make the game run properly.

After that they should work on balancing certain items. They're already trying to balance the Natascha, but they shouldn't stop there. For example, The Dalohkohs Bar is laughably ineffective compared to the Sandvich, and the Sniper's "shield" items and Sydney Sleeper could use a buff or two as well.

EDIT: Oh yes, I almost forgot:
REMOVE SET EFFECTS FOR POLYCOUNT LOADOUTS

Dear Valve:

Take those motherfucking Mann Co. Supply Crates out of the game. Or at least make the keys drop just as often as the crates.

Thanks,
Eric

I'd rather they just pitch it and work on Episode 3 more. I hated TF2.
I don't understand this whole "oh, they're working on other things, so they must be neglecting work on something else". They're not locked into making one product at any given time; ergo, the Team Fortress 2 team under the direction of Robin Walker developed the Versus mode for the Left 4 Dead series while at the same time adding the countless updates to their own game.

Just because they're working on Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, and DotA2, while simultaneously maintaining and updating their hallowed Steam platform, doesn't mean they aren't also hard at work making otherwise unannounced projects, be it Episode 3 or not. Frankly the whole "why isn't Episode 3 out!!" argument is irrelevant - Valve is doing what they do best, making polished, balanced, enjoyable games. The idea that they're doing that instead of finishing their flagship series is complete hogwash.

(My two cents, they're working on Source 2 for Episode 3.)

To repeat what's already been said:

-No more crates/Random Key Drops
-Remove polycount set effects
-More balance (but that's coming with beta so I'll let it slide)

Oh, and by the way...

TAKE OUT HAT TRADING! With no exaggeration, it's made any hat that's not sought after useless. Seriously. It's pissing me off.

This. I don't mind the MannCo store as it's optional anyway, but that you have to pay for those damned keys is a really cheap move. Make em drop!

Other than that, I honestly don't know. I haven't played TF2 in a while for some reason, give me something that makes me play again and I'm happy.

I'd agree with you if I didn't think TF2 was shit, and I had more fun with MW2 despite its horrendous balance and easily exploitable glitches. Also, the more people you put on a single project (assuming you can maintain its organization, wgich I'm pretty sure Valve can) the faster it goes. That's pretty basic logic. They're only hurting the game anyway. Every update they make makes it more unbalanced and more of a cash grab.

Please update the 360 version. Yes I know Microsoft wants to charge for the updates and Vale wants it to be free, but I'm sure both can negotiate a solution.

And nobody better give me some smartass comment about me playing the console version.

The only valid arguments I've seen on this page are "Increase the drop cap", "Update the console version" and "Finish the Meet the Team" videos". Everyone who thinks the Mann-conomy, trading or crates should be removed is just whining. Team Fortress 2 is their profit and they can market it as they see fit; would you prefer the game gets a gamebreaking update of a horrific nature such as players being rewarded for W+M1 Pyros, or just let the new modifcations slide?

I'm not so sure...

They've invested a huge amount of work into Source so far, so it would seem strange for them to suddenly announce a better version.

Also, the source engine is looking pretty sexy at the moment. Have you played L4D2? If so you'll know what I mean.

Lolwut? It's $19.99.
I think they were talking about getting all the Polycount stuff.

Anyway, I don't think they should add anything into the game until they've caught up with what's already in.
Some of the new weapons are horrifically unbalanced, like the Degreaser and Shortstop having nearly no downsides. Then there's stuff like the Shortstop luckily being less unbalanced by it's slow down effect not working.
Plus they keep adding stuff into the game that isn't finished; A lot of the contributed items didn't have their own kill icons until the community sent some in (the Iron Curtain and Frying Pan still don't) and Crit-A-Cola didn't even have it's own skin to start with.

C'mon Valve, I know you patch this stuff, but don't put it in until it's actually finished.
