Hello fellow Escapists. I was recently playing Battlefield bad company 2 and it seems that every other game I enter, my own team kill me over and over again for a whole load of reasons, from me helping them destroy a tank, to them getting ahead of me to get a helicopter. So, I put this to you, what do you do in a team killing situation? Do you kill them back? report them? rage quit? (which is completely understandable in this case)

Personally, I do all three... (unless it is an accident, then I tend to let it slide)

Also, what games have you found that team killing happens regularly? Do we have any team klllers on this site?

Err. I guess I ragequit though I've never really thought about it that way... I just try and join a different game rather than put up with my own team killing me. It's worse on Uncharted 2 though, now on that I did ragequit!!

I ask myself: Did Jesus teamkill Judas after Judas did the same?

The answer is no.

OT: Joking aside, no. I just let it slide. If I don't do anything about it, it stops. It's not worth getting worked up for. Live and let live.

Reporting it hardly does anything, in my experience. Killing them back does nothing but hurt my score and make me look an equal douche. Rage quit is a strong word; just shrug it off, leave the server, find a better one.

In an ideal world your home computer would emit radiation to sterilise you if you TKed on purpose, slowly but surely freeing the world of such people.

If it's an accident I normally let it slide, if they do it on purpose I normally kill them back... then teabag them a little. Revenge is sweet.

I hope it wouldn't work on accidental kills!

We're all guilty of the odd accidental TK, but we always apologise right? But no, it would only affect those who do it for purely douchey reasons.

Your balls are safe, my son!

I don't think you're a bad person, in fact I would say we need more people like you. I mean, it definitely teaches them a lesson, right? Hopefully leading to them not doing it again... alas, most intentional TKers can never change -sadface-

Well I can?t relate from the BBC2 experience, but I have incidents in other games. I would let the Tker get the chopper then anciently fire a barrage of AA gun rounds in his direction. Not to kill him but for the next lucky soul to fire a stray round to kill him.

Ragequiting I try not to do. I Revenge quit: For those who have played Perfect Dark on the N64. I am like the feud sim; I sabotage his game in any way possible, get creative and have fun. But don?t get caught.

And my final point is to either try to make your own server and implement Ff rules. If your computer can't handle a server then try to find a Server that is Admined by great people. Become an upstanding citizen in their server and they will watch your back.

Hope this helps. Let me know if i am WAYY off the mark.

I blow up any vehicle that they're running to in Halo: Reach, and I shoot them when they're about to die as well.

I was just playing Reach and this guy starting melee attacking me because I was driving the warthog. I wasn't in the exact place to drive off since I was kind of stuck. But he killed me.

I don't rage-quit, but I do report them--even though I doubt it does anything.

Also, if it's an accident, then I just forget about it. I kill my teammates, too, but it's never intentional. I just aim wrong with a grenade.

I go to a server that doesn't have friendly fire on and actually have fun.

Wow... that gave me a good laugh, thanks.

I generally just ignore it, or play games that give you the option to kick players who team-kill you (a feature every game should have). If it's one of my friends just messing around I'll usually just kill them back, and then whatever team game we were playing just turns into a free for all. We don't put much weight on actually winning matches, so we're all cool with stuff like that.

Edit: We don't do this on public matches by the way, I was talking about private ones. We play properly when online with others, ruining other's games by not playing properly is a jerk-move.

I solve this by not playing games with random strangers. If my friends kill me, I can pretty safely assume it was an accident.

No. It makes you my hero.

OT: I report them and hope for the best.

If it was just accidental doesn't bother me too much. If they do it again though and it seems deliberate, depending on my mood I kill them then leave the server or, depending on the game, vote to kick them.

I do remember a game where there was an achievement involving team killing, might have been Turok. Talk about a dick move on the developers part.

During the Gears of War 3 Multiplayer beta, I tried to TK some asshat who just stood there while we were all getting creamed; I wasted a whole clip to no avail. Seriously, the only time I would consider team killing an option is if I'm stuck with a player who's crippling the team.
I don't rage-quit. I try my best to finish the match, then leave and report the player(s) who ruined it for everyone.
