I generally find that it is accidental team-killing that I am most affiliated with, in my first game of CoD 4 in ages I pulled sniper on backlot and at the start of the game I shot an enemy, but as I shot someone on my team ran through the 1m gap between me and bottom car, he spawned behind me and killed me, not noticing that by that time I had 3 kills to my name and the shot that killed him ended the life of another, later on in the same game it happened again to the same fellow and he was rather mad, but he saw my game before (last live on HQ) and realised it was a mistake, this pretty much sums me up as well, although I always check to see if it was an idiotic teammate or a noobish team killer.

Ok if it is a random guy on purpose repeatedly, I will tk him on sight in order to save myself (considering on PS3 Bad company 2 I turn up to a server and pretty much earn the ace pin immediately) and my kill streak. If it is a friend (repeatedly, always repeatedly) then I cause a squad knife deathmatch for shiggles, last man standing is in the right.

It depends on the incident. I once while playing CoD4 was walking through a corridor and about to step outside, but one of my teammates was coming in the door. there weren't any enemies out there and there wasn't any room for me to get to the side so I decided I would be nice and back out to let him through but while I was backing out he shot me and I heard him say "move out of the fucking way!" I wasn't in his way for more than a couple of seconds and i was moving out of the way. So that just pissed me the fuck off and I spent the rest of the game killing him. I loved killing him then stealing his kills.

Am I playing with IRL friends? I'm the one doing the team-killing.
Haha me too! I try the most abstract ways possible to kill my friends occasionally. Against strangers, I let it slide unless it was on purpose, and more than once. In that case, I make it my mission for the rest of the game to solely hunt down that person and kill them, no matter what.

I quit and find a new match. If you team-kill people when not playing local multiplayer, you're being a dick.

In Halo: Reach if they do it once, I'll antagonize them into doing it again so I can boot them out of the game and continue about my merry way. :p
I never thought about that. Good idea.

I hate when I get booted for accidentally killing someone. A lot of those times are people jumping--not literally--in front of my vehicle and me running them over. I don't see why "oh, let me run in front of that MOVING banshee that's swooping down." Or "oh, is that a warthog in front of me? Let me move way closer and see!" are options.

Submit negative player review, file complaint, spend the rest of the game griefing the player but not killing him because I don't want the rest of the team to suffer from what I am doing

If it's an accident I normally let it slide, if they do it on purpose I normally kill them back... then teabag them a little. Revenge is sweet.

I love NON-friendly-fire games. Other people can be untrustworthy scrotummunchers, it's best if they can't frag you. Yay for Non-HC bad company 2 (And games like Monday Night Combat. Damn do I love that game).

Well I stared playing online with Halo 3 and I team kill by accident a lot. The only problem I have with Tk'ing is that every single time I play and get an accidental TK I get booted no questions asked. I mean, wtf. On the other hand, when I play with my friend, he Tks me for fun and its fun to kill him back.

I'll never forget my best team kill, it was on Halo Reach and the whole enemy team had left but one guy who wasn't playing, so our team was having a massive cluster over killing him as much as possible.
Some turd Tked me while I was assassinating him, so instead of raging at him, I calmly drove a warthog near the group, got out and stuck it with a plasma grenade. It blew up and killed two of them, and didn't count as a betrayal *Puts on shades*

Tking can be a really fun mini game if you try and be as subtle as possible about it.

Playing COD, some guy TKed me so he could get my care package. I told the rest of the people in the game and the two teams joined together to kill him over and over until he rage quit

Im pretty casual with my games, so it doesnt bother me too much, but I can see that its annoying.

I too play BC2, and ive teamkilled a few times, on accident. Mostly accidentally switching to rocket rather than repair tool.

I was just playing it, and had a teamkill situation. When I get a new weapon, new scope, or just havent used one in a long time, I fire at a wall to get an idea of how it works. I did it today, and some guy ran past, injuring, but not killing him. He turned round and stared at me for a good 10 seconds before walking off. It was rather nervewracking.

Also, what is HC?
HC is hardcore. I only ever play this because the weapons are extremely underpowered normally and less so in hardcore. (although still slightly underpowered)

Well, I don't play much online, but if someone were being a dick to me in a team based game I'd probably just carry on playing on my own, try to focus on winning and telling him/her to do the same. Probably kill them off when we're close to achieving it. In any case, if I'm playing with friends we'll probably just shoot each other out of sheer fun, with strangers it wouldn't be as much.

Guilty as charged. I'm sorry, but there's something highly amusing about chasing someone across the map with defibs...

Although I only ever do this on rare occasions. I like to win too much to put my a few men down.

When I do it it's accidental because some stupid teammate ran in front of my bullet and I apologize about it.

When someone does it to me, I know it's intentional because they laugh at me about it.

If someone kills me once, I let it slide - after all, accidents happen. But if that same person kills me again, I'll frag them the next time I see them. If they keep taking shots at me after that, I'll pretty much ignore the enemy team and start hunting around solely for them.

On the other side of the coin, if I see someone on my team cheating, such as boosting in MW2, they'll get a verbal warning through the mic. If they carry on doing it I'll wound (but not kill) them in some manner by way of a second warning. If they still persist after this then I'll just start fragging them.

Bottom line: I put a lot of stock in fair play and sporting behaviour as they make the game more enjoyable for all involved, but if someone is clearly not respecting those rules then I see no reason why their presence in the lobby should be tolerated and am more than happy to fight fire with fire.
