Tech: "are you on HD tv?"
Me:"ah no...i'm not"

No offence to people who work in Tech support, but I would

A) Appreciate it if you knew what you were talking about and
B) Talking in an accent I can't understand.

It puzzles me as to why I phone up Microsoft's European customer support only to have someone with a very thick Indian accent on the other side. I'm not trying to be racist ot anything, I would just prefer being able to understand the instructions I'm being given.

When I played WoW I once called their tech support about some account thing, and the first thing they asked was "Have you bought the game?".

I heard this from Sony Europe tech support after getting my ps3 back:

Me: Excuse me, I'm calling because I just got my ps3 back and it seems to be missing it's controller.
Woman on phone: Did you plug it into the tv?
Me: Excuse me?
Woman on phone: A ps3 doesn't work if you don't plug it into....
Me: I said it's missing it's controller!
Woman on phone: Oh, that's alright this is a new model, it works without controllers.
Me: What?
Woman on phone: Yes, you see there's no problem.*hangs up*
Me:.....

I hope you rot in hell Sony tech support!

i was once hacked for a combined sum of 5000 gold on WoW. i kindly gave a GM the details about the hacking, and asked if he could give me back my gold. you know what happens? they close my account for 3 bloody weeks, and i still dont have my gold.

the last AND WORST thing game companies are thinking about are their customer support. if i could meet that GM in real life, id kick him so hard in the crotch, his balls would fly out his nose.

That makes no sense, my dear sir. Why would you want to be unable to understand your supporter?

My all-time-favorite:
"Have you tried turning it off and on again? No? Do it now, then. Oh, it works now? Great, this call just cost you 75?. Have a nice day."

i got one..5 hours on the phone with Zune tech support, because the software wouldn't read my Zune as connected, but the computer did, 5 hours later, turns out, i needed to uninstall Zune, then reinstall it from the website....it was a problem with a Driver not updating properly...5...f-ing...hours...the best part is, that just recently...it happened again, luckily..i remembered the 5 hour conversation on "okay now that didn't work, so let's try this" and cut out the middle man, went right to uninstall/reinstall from the site, and bingo..problem solved..now i ask you, i had a canadian guy..i can tell cuz he said aboot instead of about..why the hell did it take him 5 hours to figure it out if he was the specialist the guy in India transferred me to? great guy don't get me wrong..it just took him for friggen ever to tell me how to fix it

*EDIT*

i had to switch phones twice because they kept dying on me

*EDIT*

I contacted steam support with a problem wherein I couldn't remove this guy from my friend list.

I stated:

"I cannot remove this dude from my list. Could you tell me a way to do it as the oridinary method of right clicking and pressing remove will not work because there is no remove option."
(or something like that)

And they replied:

"Jonno, to remove this friend right click and press remove friend"

I slapped my head and wrote an angry reply. This was not the first time they had done something like this in response to an email.
