My dad killed 2 people in a drunk driving accident. You people need to realize that guilt will follow this kid throughout his life. Honestly if my father hadn't of done that I think he'd probably be in jail or dead by now. Now he's a loving hardworking father and has been throughout his his life. Always trying to do the right thing.

EDIT- Oh yeah almost forgot the irony of my pathetic life. I was in a drunk driving accident as well and suffered a broken femur. One of the worst pains someone will ever have. Do I blame the driver no. Now I realize that this is way different from what happened here but kids will be stupid kids even if it costs the life of others. Throwing them in jail will not teach them anything.
Double-kill!

Do you occasionally say that to your father?

What if I hunted down this little shit and claimed I had a rare condition where I forced myself to kill people who have needlessly ended the life of others, do you think id get away with it?

I just checked the UK site and the punishment over here is 14 years in prison for death by dangerous driving whilst under the influence. To be honest id lock him up for a long time, a sixteen year old should know better. He willing drank alcohol (underage) and he willingly got behind the wheel (also underage). Personally I cant stand drink driving there are several options available: find accomodation for the night, get a taxi, get a bus, catch a lift with a friend. There has been times where ive left my car on inpromptu drinking sessions and picked it up the next morning after I recovered

If anything this shows the severity of drink driving. Theres a good ad campaign at the minute saying "take a taxi, take a bus, dont take a life" I know its a bit corny. The same goes for using a mobile while driving. Cant you just wait till youve got to your destination before you read that message that im sure is a lot more important than that car thats anchored up infront you

You could use this excuse for anything. "the poor living conditions this person has had to suffer through have caused them to develop a self-centered mentality that makes it hard for them to tell what is right and what is wrong."
