So my little sister came in today close to tears. What had happened at school, you wonder? The typical "Bitchy Teenage Girls Falling Out" scenario.
Friend A reputadly told Friend B that my Sister slagged her off. My sister is not. Immediatly, it is obvious that Friend A is a coniving *****, but this is not apparant to the "Teenage Girl". Friend B falls out with my Sister, Sister gets upset.
Sister has been berated by mum because she's being a stupid wet blanket (mum didn't use that language, but the meaning was there). Sister has called Friend B to ask what happened, they agree that Friend A made it up. then called Friend A to find out why.
Friend A tells her (as near as I can make it out) that it was actually *Insert random Boy's name here* who said it, and for some reason Friend B misunderstood that boy for my sister. A normal human being can tell that Friend A is a spiteful ***** AND a bad liar
Sister tells Friend B that Friend A "wants to be friends with both of us, but it would be really hard if they weren't friends. B and Sister have seemingly made up in a tearful way.
It's sickening and it's dumb, but WHY is it here?
Teenage Boys just punch each other and big themselves up, but there's no subtlety in that. Teenage Girls seem to live around a perpetual cycle of "Befriend, *****, Break Up, Make Up" for seemingly no reason. Near as I can tell, Friend A seems to be doing this either for some sick, cheap thrill or because she wishes her life was more like a crappy TV show.
What experiences, commentaries and observations do you have on the "Teenage Girl" disposition?
