This is just sickening. A 16 year old rapist was allowed to walk free with a pathetic community order as punishment for raping a 7 year old boy. It is thought that the lenient sentence was partly because the boy's Christian parents forgave the criminal.Within days of walking free he raped a 5 year old boy. I've included a number of references to show I'm not some outraged Daily Mail reader who is exaggerating:

[link]http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1218021/Senior-judge-released-teenage-paedophile-raped-child--days-later.html[/link]

This is so unjust in so many ways. Firstly, the original sentence; maybe the judge doesn't believe that male on male rape is serious, this is obviously a disgusting attitude and has no credence. Secondly, religion should be kept out of the courts when it comes to judgement. Perhaps more importantly, the parents should not be allowed to be recognised to 'forgive' on the child's behalf. It is the child who has to live with this, these parent are despicable. However, it does seem that they expected a much more serious punishment for him. How can a paedophile be allowed to be convicted and not go to jail for at least 20 years!?

The following rape is almost more disturbing, had the authorities stood up to their responsibility it would not have happened. This judge should be in the dock next to the criminal for accessory to the rape. Now he's only been given 3 years! 3 years! And this was from a 'harsher' judge.

F**k the justice system. It's a joke.

The guy obviously has something wrong going on in his head. He needs a LOT of help to get to the bottom of why he does this.

Uh. There has been so much of this I'm completely desensitised to it. Call me immoral, but I really don't care anymore.
Admittedly it is hard to care sometimes, I don't mean that in a sick, insensitive way, but with so much shit that happens if you let yourself get affected by all of it you'll never be happy.

That said, this is pretty sickening, especially the parents forgiving the rapist of all things.

Agreed on all counts. The system is far too soft on teenage criminals. This country seems to go overboard on minor stuff then miss the point on serious crimes.

The justice system has been fucked for years now. Decades even. Did you know, that if you're under the age of 10 in America, and you rape someone, you don't even go to trial for it? They just release you to your parents.

9 year old, brought his dad's gun to school and robbed a few of his classmates with it, taking about 40 bucks, a fortune for a kid his age. You know what his punishment was? He had to return the money and say he's sorry.

This is pretty much the world our children are going to inherit. Nice, isn't it.

If it were up to me, I'd tie the guy to a post and hum 'Another one bites the dust' to myself while loading a clip into my AK-47. Swiss cheese time!
But, alas, it's not up to me.

This is just another example of how bad the justice system is, in all countries.

This also has the unfortunate side-effect of reinforcing the image in many homophobes' minds that gays are child rapists.

I 16 year old kid in my area was sent to jail for stabbing another Teenager. He got 30 years. The Teenager didn't die he was just stabbed. In this predicitment I wouldn't expect anything less then 20 years and if the judges in that area belive that is to harsh then they shouldn't even be in that line of work.

It's a shame the kid's name and picture aren't made publicly available. Oh well, the 5 year old kid's parents know the name and these things have an annoying habit of being 'accidentally' said when a lot of people are in the same room.

"Today he was branded a danger to the public and jailed indefinitely with Judge Peter Lakin ordering he must serve almost three years before he can be considered for parole and that he will be released only when he is no longer considered a danger to the public."

He's not just being jailed for 3 years... its a harsher punishment then that! But still its a disgusting turn of events.

It the UK that means 3 years, they can't let anyone out if they're still a 'danger' yet they so often do, again and again. This is the same legal system that has locked up Baby Peter's mother for 3 years.

Really? I'm seeing an entirely different message :"Do you like breaking the law? Rape, abductions, sexual abuse, gang related crimes, etc? Then make sure your case is tried by Judge Adrian Smith and you'll be back to rape and beat people up in no time."
