OK. Since we've slowed down, I'll call for an end for data, and instead report what I have.
We had, here at the Escapist, 102 data points. Here's the key data:
Men outnumbered women over 3:1. 77% of our Shepards were male.
The most popular class was Soldier, at 37%. Infiltrator was number 2, with 24%. Sentinel was the least popular, with only two people choosing this class.
Using a formula of 2 points for the "pure" classes (soldier, engineer, adept) and one for each discipline in the hybrids, we also learned that combat was the most popular discipline at 60%, followed by biotics (22%), then engineering (18%). You can see my whole sheet here [http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l300/jack_slack/escapist.png].
OK, but how does this compare to the wider community, you ask? I also asked the question at PALGN (getting a nice number of responses) and GameCritics (getting, erm, 5 responses) as well. The key differences were:
You guys are a LOT more male than the rest. Elsewhere the male to female ratio was about 2:1.
Vanguard had more popularity amongst others. Vanguard made up 32% of PALGN's Shepards, compared to your 22%. You liked Infiltrator more, which is where you made up the percentages. They only liked Infiltrator to the tune of 14%.
While combat remained the top choice at about 60%, elsewhere Biotics was the clear second favorite at 27%, while Engineering managed only 14%.
The overall numbers from all my info gathering is here [http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l300/jack_slack/overall.png].
