Ignoring the USA FUCK YEAH! answer, it's a vast country with a vast variety of people. I think that people get so caught up in the whole AMERICA! aspect that they forget that each state is very different from the next. I greatly enjoy visiting different states and talking with people. Road trips across this country are phenomenal and it is beautiful from the Northwoods of Wisconsin to the plains of Wyoming. /drunken sentimentality

Oddly, enough, most people seem to be proud of things that would apply to most of the Western world. Democracy, freedom of speech and religion, education and living standards...all of these are supposed to be taken for granted.
There are so many awesome things about Canada, but now that I'm being put on the spot I can't think of anything.

Because we are English Motherfuckers....lol nah im kiddin but we got free healthcare, one of the best trained armed and special forces in the world with Israel and America not that far behind though, was a virtual superpower from the middle ages up til ww2, has created some of the best television shows ever (doctor who, life on mars, etc) and is home to some of the greatest actors ever known, ian mckellen, christopher lee, sean bean, brian cox and sort of peter o'toole.

Strangely, that thread was probably inspired by the many 'Homefront / America' threads that are about today.
...Ahem... the premise is simple. Explain what makes your country great! Tell us the reasons why you think your country is worth visiting, it's redeeming qualities!
I for one, and a sizable chunk of the escapists, come from Australia.
1) I am proud of our environment. A land rich with varying ecosystems. Many of our flora and fauna are unique to our country alone and are quite famous. We have some of the world's deadliest Spiders and Snakes which is pretty damn cool. Our weather is all over the place and yet other than Bush Fires (and a nasty Flood atm!) we don't experience natural disasters like hurricanes, tidal waves, volcanoes, and Earthquakes! The land itself is a great place to explore and also a dangerous one!
2) I am proud of our contributions to Science and our inventions:

4) I am proud of the many Australian actors and actresses who litter Hollywood.
5) Even though people will often insult my nation for it's convict heritage, I am proud of most of the history in my country and people need to realize that the convicts were generations ago and have had no real significant impact on the society that has flourished today. Our cities have often been ranked as the most livable cities in the world along with those found in Canada, Austria, and Switzerland!:

I've never know anyone to really care about the whole convict heretige thing....though there is another little part of our history thats rather unplesant, most poeople would like to ignore and is still kind of on-going in a way, lets hope things get better
It really isn't It doesn't excel at anything, It doesn't fail particularly hard at anything it just is..... and has really sucky release dates.
