This does nothing but remind me of all the times console gamers went off the rocker when a game came out PC exclusive.

Personally, I don't get any of the whining, since the game has been out on PC for the last year and a bit.

This is precisely the misinformed garbage that PS3 and XBox fangirls want to be spewed. Because they know good and well that they have nowhere near the resources developmentally that PC devs have at their disposal. They know that if PC gaming somehow died tomorrow, and it were left solely to console "indie" developers (like Phil Fish, narcissist moron developer of FEZ) to make "indie games" then no one would buy them. Do you have any idea how much more costly it is to develop an indie game for consoles than it is for PCs? Just look at the cost of patching a game if you were to release on XBox or PS3. It's laughable how much the console devs pay just to patch their mistakes. *I'm not however going to say that Steam probably doesn't do the same thing, but the thing is, you don't have to release a game on Steam to release it on PC. Can't say that with Sony or Microsoft systems.

Really? PC users complaining because someone isn't giving them all the attention for once? Well you don't see that every day DO YOU. 0_0

No but really, it's the same story whenever an unofficial 'platform-exclusive' by virtue of happening to only be on one platform goes to other platforms the original users complain.

Now, if Terraria players had very good reason to EXPECT a large update and found instead that all resources were devoted to this effort, I'd think that was cause for being upset. But it would require a reasonably concrete expectation and a reasonably concentrated effort. And as far as I know, neither of these are present.

I repeat: Not biased against PC users, every platform has these people. You know, just before someone calls me a fanboy.

massive amount of additions
what? Terraria died on version 1.1
Riiiiiiiiight. Because 1.1's update totally didn't add 222 items and 39 new monsters to the game...

This is the kind of crap I'm talking about. People love to complain but have frankly barely touched the game's immense amount of features.

Imma just leave this here: [link]http://wiki.terrariaonline.com/1.1#1.1.2[/link]

so you can read what the added with each update.

What was your point here exactly? Coming as a PC Gamer, I have no idea what you're point is here...

In fact you writing a novella to NOT argue @PredatorFett 's point kinda proves his point.

This brings up a tangential, but interesting possibility (no matter how unlikely).
Since they're going to have to ship Terraria onto XBLA pretty much in one fell swoop with no wiggle room for patches, I wonder if this means whatever fixes get made to core Terraria will also be applied to PC.

Now, I doubt this scenario is likely for reasons I've gone over in previous posts, but it is a possibility.

Rofl. This game looks a lot like many games i've already played on xbox live indie so it's hardly worth getting your knickers in a twist over. I do like to see the childish fanboy elitists making an arse of themselves like normal though...

It brightens up my day when the 'obsolete' console gets preference over the 'superior in every way' pc :p

Shame about Orcs must die though

Yes, this is PC elitism at it's finest.

Also, yay for me, I can't wait to play Terraria.
Elitism? Or anger over the fact that the game was left half finished and despite work restarting on the series, it is still being left on hold.

You know. It's funny how "PC elitists" are given so much shit but when PS3 gamers start crying their eyes out over not being able to pay £14 for sub par DLC everyone is "understanding" and is sympathetic to the cause.
Welcome to the Escapist. A place that hates PC gamers so much that even the site owners go out of their way to troll them in "news" posts.

Imagine how I feel most of the time? I'm a PC gamer, a fan of Half-Life and Halo, and I'm not head-over-heels in love with Bioware, Bethesda, or Obisidian.

It's amazing I haven't had a mob come after me brandishing pitch-forks and torches.

It never felt half-finished to me. I saw updates such as hard mode as a free bonus, not as something we should have had anyways.

I will have myself flogged for this later, but I am bumping a rather inflammatory topic.
(I'll use the Cat-o-Nines, if you want a recording of the event, too bad. I don't do personal performances)

But there is an Update:
http://www.terrariaonline.com/threads/505-games-follow-up-to-the-console-announcement.92006/

Which basically confirms what I suspected; Redigit is NOT doing the heavy-lifting on the port.

Do with that as you will. My own stance on the matter has not changed.
(I am also correcting a mistake I made earlier; it's Tiy and NOT Redigit who is working on Starbound. Red has little to do with it, though the news section on Steam for Terraria does plug for Starbound)

Some of this hatred is over the top. I can agree with the general sentiment, though.

If Blizzard had decided to stop work on WOW at Wrath of the Lich King, and months later, they announced that Wrath of the Lich King was coming to Xbox and Ps3. To top it off, Mists of Pandaria was going to be released to Xbox and Ps3 with no mention whatsoever of the original PC version being updated.

I could easily imagine a riot happening in response. This happening with Terraria feels similar, albeit on a smaller scale.
