Something I don't like about this is all the people jumping on the "muslims did it" bandwagon.
Just check the comments on the youtube video and see what I mean.

Yes, this was probably done by an EXTREMIST muslim group. Don't judge all of them because what very few of them does.

It pisses me off!
An extremist muslim is still a muslim. So, if a muslim extremist group did this, the people saying "muslims did it" are, in fact, factually correct.
Yes, it is. But that was not my point.
I don't like that they try to put all muslims in the same group!

Racism is just going to get worse in this country after this.
Well, they do all get their 'moral' teachings from the same books. The fact that followers of islam in general are more violent and intolerant than the followers of christianity, for instance, speaks volumes for the reason of xenophobia towards muslims.

Look at me, railing on muslims like that. If I say much more, I'm likely to get warned, so enough about them.
It's funny that you say that because throughout history, christianity has been a very violent religion. The Crusades, I'm looking at you.

And the Bible is full of bad morals, and so is the Quran, mainly because they both are old outdated books. But both books also contain good morals.

And christians being more tolerant and less violent; there's no truth in that, unless you can show me proof. Don't try to blame all the muslims for what very few of them does.
I dont like that argument Both christianity and islam was created at about the same time in history. The crusades happened a 1000 years ago, this is happening now.
Yeah, I know, bad example. But there are christian terrorist group, the media just tends to blow up everything about muslims.

But lets stay on topic, the thread is about to derail, and I wouldn't like to be responsible for that :(

no it was not created the same time, islam is the youngest of those religions
Yes but not by much, like 500 years or something. Anyway, lets stay on topic.

True on a technicality, but also completely false given the intent behind the statement from most people.

As for your other point, Christianity has seen plenty of violence in the past (there have been plenty of attacks on abortion clinics over the last few decades from extreme Christian groups; these are acts of terror too, just not as high profile) - just not right now. There is a reason behind groups like Al Qaeda's actions - painting them as monsters who do things without reason is stupid, as is throwing 1 billion people into the same pot.

Just because they read the same rule book doesn't really mean much. Again, looking at Christianity: they can't even decide among themselves how the Bible should be interpreted.

Connotation.

It's like if an african american robbed someone and the response was 'The black people did it.' It's imprecise and incindiary.

Also, we don't know WHO did this or why. Waiting will be filled.

As well, in every country in the world, most terrorist attacks are done by citizens of that country, not external forces. The second, third, and fourth worst terrorist attacks in the US were done by crazy whackjob Americans.

Assuming it was extremist islam is, itself, racist, and not even rational when given the facts.

There isn't any substance to back up any claims that the explosions were done by Islamic extremists.

I, personally, believe it was simply some angry vikings.

Thank you for explaining my thoughts much better than I could've done!

But on topic. The sun has reported on it too.

Is it definitely an Islamic Terrorist agenda? What was attacked was a building belonging to the department for petroleum and energy - seems like attacking Norwegian state oil would be an unusual move for an Islamic fundamentalist.
It is the very same building which houses the Prime Minister's office.

This doesn't help the discussion at all, you should be talking about the people affected in Norway, not starting up some religious debate that is only related to the topic. And has any group actually claimed responsibility? It's too early to jump to conclusions.

My heart goes out to the people of Norway.

How can a "suspicious car" ( a van stuffed with explosives should mark suspicion ) get so close to such a important building in Oslo? I don;t know about you , but if I wanted to park my car outside the Parliament 1. I wouldn't be allowed if I wasn't a employ , 2 I would almost immediately trigger the security system .

Not trying to minimize the tragedy , but Norway might want to tighten its security in these troubled times . Also , lets not kid ourselves , this has terrorist attack all over it . Norway residents are very peaceful people ( 1 crime per year or even 0? ) and have it better than most of Europe now due to oil , so , no , I am 100% sure a Norwegian wouldn't be able to do this . This is the way we Europeans are repaid for allowing foreigners to live their lives here , almost always with religion freedom ( Oh , hai , France ) . Think it's time we stop and make a more drastic immigration policy , especially for the likes that may cause harm to our citizens ( people that seem to not be able to understand anything past the Quran ,former terrorist members now going "good" etc)

I'm partly to blame for that, sorry!

And no, no one has claimed responsibility yet.

I was wondering whether 2011 would have a seminal Terrorist attack; with the Japan disaster and the NewsCorp scandal I was beginning to think that we'd had our share of excitement for this year.
