IF this is terrorists, it probably is if there were car bombs, they could be doing it to show that no country is safe.

The Norwegian news channels are going completely nuts over this, naturally. Watching TV2 now, expecting to get some more information on what exactly is going on. The explosion looks very devastating from bellow, but the above photos so far don't look as bad. Only time will tell how extensive it really is.

Could be Muslim Extremists, could be a Libyan loyalist attack, and then there's the posibility of some homegrown nutcase or whatever else completely random and unexpected. Time will tell!

Tighten the airport security, people! Can't let them slip through!

It's not like they flew to the building... As long as they do a proper job in the aftermath. We don't even know if the attackers ARE from outside, and most terrorist attacks are by people well integrated into the society of the country in question.

You're entirely correct, while terrorists are not be wholly rational people they do plan these with a cause and purpose in mind - which makes Norway a very strange target.

I do not believe the racism will change because of this. The racism here in Norway has nearly reached a point where for every racist there is someone that rages over any form of it, and/or is so scared of joking about it that the entire subject has become a tabu. Entire situation has really just become laughable.

What I worry about is the government completely flip their shit because of this, and throw in a large amount of unnecessary, ridiculous, annoying rules, and regulations over this incident.

Well, they do all get their 'moral' teachings from the same books. The fact that followers of islam in general are more violent and intolerant than the followers of christianity, for instance, speaks volumes for the reason of xenophobia towards muslims.

Look at me, railing on muslims like that. If I say much more, I'm likely to get warned, so enough about them.

It's funny that you say that because throughout history, christianity has been a very violent religion. The Crusades, I'm looking at you.

And the Bible is full of bad morals, and so is the Quran, mainly because they both are old outdated books. But both books also contain good morals.

And christians being more tolerant and less violent; there's no truth in that, unless you can show me proof. Don't try to blame all the muslims for what very few of them does.

This really hasn't sunk into me yet, but I know that we haven't had anything like this, I don't know, since the war or something. I'll be monitoring this for the days to come.

This was my first thought, except I don't live in Norway. Not to seem like Norway hasn't got much going on, but when was the last time they did anything close to bad to anyone? Maybe...the middle ages? Which puts our suspect as some crazy British historian craving vengeance for the Viking invasion.

Unless I'm mistaken about norways dealings in the past couple of hundred years, realistically, this is probably the work of some random nutjob. Sad but true, some people don't need a reason to do evil, they just do it.

My thoughts go to anyone affected by these blasts.
