You know what happened to me when I was a kid, and I misbehaved in school?

Depending on the teacher he either slapped me on the wrist with a ruler [Which fucking hurt, by the way], or forced me to assist the janitor when I was done with my studies. That shaped me up real quick, you kinda forget how fun it is to be bad when you're scrubbing toilets and mopping floors after hours.

But now neither of those are allowed because it's either "Child abuse" or "Forced labor".

Instead of this completely pointless system that does nothing but clog up the court systems, why not just reinstate one of those punishments?

Elementary: As is. Given them a break, they're 10
Junior High: Community service. Because someone has to do it.
High School: Tickets ought to be issued. It's time to grow up.
I don't agree with tickets, as the kind of parents who just buy their kid anything rather than do some parenting, are the kinda parents who won't so much as blink at paying the $10 ever now and then, whereas poorer families are going to be crippled by minor infractions.

However, if there's a way to make them doing it, community service would be ideal. Screw the school system around, we're going to make you fix it, with gardening, kitchen work, litter duty, window cleaning etc.
