Many of the items provided in the TF2 updates i find usless sure you get the occational gem like dead ringer and the samvich but I have earned all the others and dont really use them. Heres why

for the pyro
the backburner reduces the pyro back to its w + M1 status the flare gun has a nasty pull down and doesnt cause that much damage while making you drop your shotgun the axetiguisher is very rarly used.

for the heavy
For natasha who really wants to lose 25% damage. . . the samvich is alright if you are a GOOD heavy other wise you are just waisting time. the KGB's require you to fight melee which doesnt work out in the end you just get shot.

for the medic
the Blutsaugher would be good if it didnt tempt every other medic playing person to want to go "battle medic" and ignore the rest of his/her teams cry for help. the Kritzcrieg is decent if you are having trouble getting an uber up but still fails vs sentrys due to sentrys not taking critical damage. the ubersaw is good but still it tempts medics who cant manage melee fighting to go and get themselfs killed losing what charge they have managed to save up.

The Scout . . .
-_- the sandman used to be bad then it got worse when they decided it wasnt weak enough and let people move when stunned. the boink only really works if the enemy team are stupid. the force of nature is not bad if used by a GOOD scout.

The soldier
I have heard the direct hit called direct miss by soo many people the joke isnt that funny anymore but its true its not a good weapon to try and hit ppl with. the Buff Banner makes you lose your shotgun leaving you with four shot before you have to reaload and in some situations thats not an option. the Equalizer i find good for an escape plan but not as a weapon due to its need to suisidally run at the enemy with your melee weapon out. The gunboats still require you to lose that nessisary shotgun.

The demoman
Chargin' Targe is not good it replaces the sticky launcher and is only usefull if you again pull out your melee and rush at the enemy. Scottish Resistance is difficult to manage and espessially if you need to air bombard anything. Eyelander need I say it again MELEE WEAPON this one acually irritates me because you find team members going after heads like there in highlander leaving there team mates to suffer.

The spy
Ambassador its a decent weapon if you have exeptional aim and can get that head shot everytime.Dead Ringer is a good diguise mod if you are GOOD with it if you are not you will just be hunted down and finished off. Cloak and Dagger with this disguise mod you will have to play defencivly as spy causing you to be forced to go slower.

The sniper
-luckbow- aka Huntsman has an interesting delay and people who are excellent with it are nightmares but the adverage user will find this a difficult weapon to hit with.Razorback protects againced ONE backstabb if your not good enough to avoid a bs then you will only be got again when the spy respawns. Jarate people seem to have forgotten how good the machine gun is that the sniper has been blessed with and have replaced it with a jar of piss good for a team player but removes a decent weapon from the snipers disposal

these are just my opinions on the unlockable weapons and i only tend to use 5 of them preferring to stick to the original and in all honestly better weapons.

what do you guys think about the tf2 weapons unlockables and which ones do you use and why im just curious to know. . .

I use...

Flare gun, Natasha, Force of Nature, sometimes The Sandman, The Equalizer (I say it's a lot better then The Shovel), The Ambassador, The Cloak and Dagger (I really see no disadvantages to it), and I hate the sniper unlocks.

So yeah, I say they're worth it, they add a lot of gameplay elements.

I've used the Backburner on occasion when I'm defending in 2fort and I'm in a good hiding place around a corner, but it's mostly useless. With the spy, I use the Ambassador as a counter for the Razorback and switch between the Cloak and Dagger and the Invisible watch depending on the map. The Equalizer is useful, for escaping bad situations, but I tend to stick with the standard weapons mostly.

P.s I was in a game earlier where a Sniper with the Huntsman destroyed my team.

The unloackables more designed to cater towards specific play styles, they aren't really intended as replacements for the originaly items.

So yes, they are usefull, personally i LOVE the flaregun, infact i think i'd name it my favorite new 'toy' of 2010.

They make the game more interesting by changing the style of play. Also I would consider the razorback rather useful if I were playing with people who actually play good spies. *Shrug*

the demoman really got the worst of the updates havent gotten the the scottish resistance yet but the targe is useless, especially since your giving up your man cun to use it, the eyelander aint that good either, too slow to swing, you get faster kills with the bottle.

the other unlockables are decent tho, the backburner will take out a whole payload team from behind ina few seconds which is nice, i usually switch between them all the time except for the huntsman, cant stand that thing

How best to use the Axetinguisher
1) Ignite
2) Airblast into wall or into the air
3) Axetinguisher for OHKO or 2HKO

Jarate and Huntsman work together well if the sniper is in close quarters. The Huntsman's quick draw is a good follow up to a nice piece o' piss.

CnD is good for turtling and getting behind enemy lines if you're patient and watchful enough. Even though you mentioned it's a slower game, the moment you reach their back will be the perfect time to go to town.

Dead Ringer is perfect if you disguise as your own team. Since they'll think they already killed someone on red, getting to a safe spot behind them is easy pickins.

I don't see why you complain about the KGB being a melee weapon, seeing as it replaces bare fists. Even though it's slower, if the enemy was weakened (probably) a kill guarantees 5 secs of crits.

Actually a couple of posts reminded me of something, the Unloackables also change the class to a degree, by that i mean look at the Demo Man, useing the Chargin' Targe with the Eyelander changes the class from a Demolitions one to something more akin of the Charger from L4D2, similar for the Sniper with a Huntsman and Jarate, turining it into more of a closer range combat sniper...if that makes sense...

Backburner is good for situations like clearing a point but for main combat the compression blaster is the easiest to gain kills with, as said before... Ignite, Blast and Brain them with the axetinquisher.

(Most of my pyro kills come from it)

I like the Jarate update. SMG does very little damage, while Jarate is a good team work weapon (uncovering spies, putting how flaming teammates, and getting minicrits on enemies). The sandman is good if you can't get around the limited health. Even if an enemy can still move, they still can't hurt you after getting hit with a baseball. Bonk is really only good for getting pass sentries, but because of that alone, it's surprisingly useful. The direct hit just requires some competence to use and the ability to aim at the enemy rather than at their feet. Axetinguisher is a no brainer since there's no reason not to equip it. Everything else though, I could care less about.
