I'm keen. But I've been under the Soldier banner since the war began.
It'll be interesting to see what the grenade launcher's upgrade will be. Probably something to complement the style of offensive Demo.

Hmm...just the other day I was in a Demoman vs. Soldier server with melee mode turned on and I suggested that a full agme be released in a similar fashion to melee mode, complete swords, shields, and the like. Maybe Valve heard me =P.

Not that I ever played the demoman class but now I am surely not going to.

i doubt it will get much use, simply cause the damage output of stickies is beyond any thing else in the game. i mean, carpet bombing in comp is so important, i doubt a demo will give it up for.... the ability to get in close, then get killed by the entire team, with no real dodging capability and no way to ambush, i see this just as a gimmick weapon.

Assuming that people actually care what competitive players think about anything.

i know the average guy doesn't give a shit about competitive play, and im fine with that. Let them play there 5 stalemate maps. Ill stick to my comp, thank you.

Completely ridiculous, has nothing to do with demoman's current role in the game. Essentially they're just making a 10th class. A melee specialist with grenades.
This might not be a bad thing, and a new sticky-launcher would be hard to come up with... so valve did what they did with the spy's knife and just decided to avoid the challenge completely.
It could be cool, however I'm now joining the demoman's side in the war. He NEEDS a 4th unlock, something that actually EXPLODES for goodness sake!

Okay, I get how a shield could protect you from fire a little bit, but if it's a wooden shield it would catch on fire and if it's a metal one it will get hot ass hell. I guess it could make sense if it could provide protection for a limited amount of time... or maybe I'm just over-analyzing this.

Considering that there's a watch in this game which spawns corpses... yes, you're over-analyzing this.

Ha, this is one of the reasons I wish I had a PC, - so I could play this game and LOTRO. Sounds fun.

you dont have a pc.... how are you talking to us oh great one with unlimited powers!

Also, i think it still fills the defensive roll as well and it used as the more "attacking" defensive class, think of it as a counter charge
