Well, I don't use Demo at all. I never have, and I probably never will. Am I the only person in the world who can't use the demo, and doesn't find it enjoyable to play?

Agreed for great justice. It's only good for being a complete bastard and for taking out turrets, nothing more.

This is hilarious - perhaps the booby prize for loosing the war? If you remember, the war is for new explosive weapons, which it looks like the soldier will be getting :)

I love how on one of the newspapers in the main war part it says the soldier, the worlds easiest class, is ahead.

+50% fire resistance. +65% blast resistance. Gain health and speed after each INSTA kill.

[HEADING=3] THAT'S FAIR! [/HEADING]
Well DUR; you do have to give up your sticky bomb launcher for it.

First thought: what the fuck.. Dumb dumb stupid dumb why do I have to lose my sticky launcher.

After reading: you get critical hits for charging headlong at people, and it offers a buff against pyros and soldiers? This will be TONS OF FUN.

Please tell me this isn't what the whole Soldier v. Demoman thing was all about. That would be such a letdown.

I like it. It will definitely mix things up a little, and the health and speed boosts it gives will perhaps cut down on the amount of sticky spam. Sure it probably won't be used in professional play, but who cares about them anyway? If you're not playing for fun then you've missed the entire point of the game.

Also, the Demoman's name is Tavish Degroot. Who knew?
perhaps winning is fun to us? think of that?

Dedicating ourselves to mastering a game and more importantly facing another person is more fun to us than simply playing for fun. I find it fun to play on high level, other people dont have the dedication or the talent.
you sir, are a fluntymumple. as for the update it sounds cool.

I think you'll be able to use the shield to charge away from people too, as a sort of replacement for sticky-jumping, so the shield will really be a nice tool.

It sucks to not be able to do sticky-carpets though, but they aren't always needed, and if you play on a server with little team-play, the shield can help you escape and survive.

I guess it's fun and all... But why in the name of jebus would a sword give you +50% fire resistance? It makes no sense to me :p
It's mocking RPG gameplay stats. Did you play Torchlight? A lot of gems give useless stats like +4 poison resistance, none of which you'll ever actually USE. Either that, or it protects you against the pyro, which is the most likely reason. (melee combat, ya'know?)

Something I'm wondering is: do you still get these benefits while using your pipebomb launcher or do you have to have the shield out?

The sword is most definitely not a Claymore. Sure, it's huge, but if you look at the hilt and cross guard, and the width of the blade, it appears to be a generic Broadsword.
Well shit. I completely forgot about that. Still I'm saying that's what they might have been going for since it's not like they've been trying for 100% historical/national accuracy in TF2 anyway.

I love this idea somehow. The thought of me charging an enemy and chopping his head off is kinda trouser tightening.
