The last two bosses in Dead Rising 2 (Whom I won't name due to spoilers). God damn.

The first one just WON'T take damage from anything, unless you're clairvoyant and somehow knew that the ONLY weapon that would damage him is the knife-gloves.

And the true final boss? What a prick. He takes away all your weapons, then places you on an artificial timer, then places any decent weapons on high explosives, just to F with you.

And my dumb ass didn't realize that you could reset the game at any point, with all your stat upgrades intact. So I was facing them with only one playthrough's worth of stat boosts.

It WAS satisfying to finally beat them, however.

KH2:
BLOODY XALDIN
was not actuallly as difficult as I thought he might be. Riku-Ansem (/Xehaneartless) when you fight him near the end of Hollow Bastion in KH1 (the fight after Dragon-Maleficent), with that really long cutscene before that you couldn't skip - and he was wearing a skirt and still owned me SO MANY TIMES.
Also, not technically a boss but I remember a mission in Just Cause 2 that took me ages to complete. Turned out it was 'cos I was thinking tactically and getting killed for doing so; once I blindly ran in all guns blazing, I managed it first time.

I really don't understand why so many people hate the last boss on Prototype. (Monster-cross) I really took it slow with him to be honest. I practically played with him, let the soldiers attack him, use helicopters, heck, I did all I could to make the battle LAST as long as possible... then the timer came and I pwnd him because I HATE TIMERS!!!!

Anyway, THAT BOSS: I FUCKING HATE THE LAST BOSS (Dark Heaven Castle) IN DARK CLOUD 1. His hands are okay, but... I HATE HIS EYE! T_T I have beaten him, and after I superpowered that gun-guy's supergun it was pretty easy... But I hate using ranged attacks in that game, so all my ranged characters were WAAAAAAAAAAY underpowered. (Think starting equipment non-upgraded) Yeah, it annoyed me very much for a while -_-

The only game I didn't finish was Battletoads for the Megadrive. Not really a boss, but that bloody hoverbike level. I still can't beat it, it's my one great shame.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
I have not encountered a hard boss yet. :(

Mine is also in DMC2, near the end there is a boss that is made up of 3 giant heads. Being the completionist that I am, I played through the whole game on Dante must die difficulty. I did beat him, eventually, but it took me an ungodly amount of time.

Ameno-sagiri from Persona 4. The wanker made me stop playing for about six months after trying to kill him for about a week

End of thread, really. My personal That One Boss was the forgettable Champion from Pokemon Ruby. Metagross. Ouch :( Cynthia didn't give me half as much grief.

The final boss in Heavenly Sword. It's been about 2 years since then, and I've long forgotten his name, but God damn, I sure haven't forgotten the rage and frustration of that fucking three-stage battle!
I have to go with that as well.
Protip for game developers; When someone can't tell if they're doing damage or not because the boss' health is going down so slowly, you've officially given your boss too much health.

Ninja Gaiden 2, the subway electro eel thing, you have to fire arrows at it (Limited arrows), you cant slash it, the arrows bearly do any damage and the boss fires balls of electricity at you while spamming underlings at you...

REALLY, no nothing at all, nothing else I can use to kill this thing. ARHHHGG!

An oldie...Shakhan from Xenogears. I loved that game so damn much but once I hit him I just could *not* beat him. I always ran out of fuel or something like that. I followed every strategy hot tip I could find and still couldn't win.
I really wanted to beat that game, too. Maybe I should dig it back out and play it again, have another go at it. Maybe now that I'm a good bit older I'll do better. :p

May well have simply been because I was young (not sure as I've not gone back to it) but defeating the Golden Evil Statue at the end of Onimusha 2 took me an age.... =(

...GLaDOS... Kidding if you've haven't figured it out already, the actual hardest "boss" was Evlarg from RuneScape... You don't know who or what that is, do you? Well, once you wikipedia it, know that I've quit RS a while back

In past 2 years for me it was Barthandelus in FF13.. that fucking fight is about as cheap as it gets!
- Bores you to death with its length 12+ minutes!
- Easy to blow it if you dont do the right patterns
- and goes from a survival fight to a timed fight with an instant death if you dont do it in the proper time

Stupid figth ruined the game for me too.. shortyly after finally beating it I just shelved the game and never went back.

He's the big one
Sure you get to undergo a transformation that pushes all of your stats well into the hundreds and adds a ton of bonus hp. That still dosn't matter when the boss is a friggin Golem with 3,000hp, the ability to completely deflect mele attacks, and an unblockable AOE that knocks you down. Oh and if he kills you the transformation ends and you cant use it for an entire in game day.

However if you do win you get to keep the transformation skill which is awesome.

Motherfucking Elizabeth Greene in Prototype. Especially if you don't know what you're doing.
She's not too hard but she can take ages to kill if have to constantly pull hit-and-runs then consume Hunters every time you lose health (which is every minute or so). But it's no cakewalk that's for sure.

I think I snuck up on him and knifed him in the neck. In any case, it ended quite soon.

The bossfight in Alpha Protocol where you fight a crazy Russian crackhead blasting 80's music. After playing I paused the game, quit, declared it bullshit and sold it to pre-order Resistance 3.

EDIT: NINJA'D
Oh yeah, for some reason that little bastard was tough.
