So today, has to be the shittiest day i can just about imagine. I like this girl. Like really like her. I was sitting with her, and my 'friend' came over, accompanied by other 'friends'. So im sitting there, while he is just trying to make things as awkward as possible, and just fuck stuff up. He pulls the 'Boner' prank on me. I have my blazer next to me, and im just sittin there. He then calls 'Boner alert' and everyone starts taking the piss. He leaves, and the girl i like, thinks that i was looking up her shirt and now, things are made awkward. Basically, do you have, or used to have a dick of a friend like that? Explain experiences please
I've never had anything like this but if I had I'd probably just pull my friend over to one side and tell him to stop being such a twat.
Then next time I saw the girl I'd just explain that he was being an asshole and you were looking at him and not at her and you're sorry if he made her uncomfortable.

But still, count yourself lucky. Back in the day my friends used to just give me a hard-on then claim something else did it.
What a disturbing present. And it wasn't even my birthday or nothing.
It just wouldn't complete my day if I didn't weird out at least one person. :D
First thought: Actually, that might not be so bad.

Second thought: With no follow-through, that's just mean.

Third thought: I'm putting way too much thought into this.
Allow me to alleviate some of these doubts: on several occasions there was some follow-through. Not a lot, but definitely enough to keep me from getting mad at that one particular friend...

the other ones who gave me this problem just did it because they knew it annoyed me. They're jerks. Yet oddly I'm still friends with them and not with the one who actually followed up on the situation. I should fix that...
Life can be funny like that. Hope everything works out well.
Ah, it won't. He's engaged to some girl who's name I can never remember and I have a boyfriend. Que sera sera I guess.

Yeah my old friends were like that back in High School (who are now my ex). To them they needed laughter like if it were oxygen so they were into stupid kind of humors and making it as well. Example they get a laugh for making fun of me or others. Also one time when they were hanging over they put stickers of my brother posters. They found it funny but not for me since removing those stickers had rip off part of the posters!
I'm so glad I had ct ties from them and made new friends in Uni instead.

Yeah. I hate the guy sometimes. I truly just don't like him. But he is friends with my other friends. He hangs around my best friend a LOT. They were together quite frequently. They got along fine, or at least my other friends never caught any flak from him. He was an ASS to me, in the most passive aggressive or just flagrantly douche-bag of ways. But we still hang out. Nowadays very infrequently, but the weird thing about the situation was even though we both didn't like the other, we still hung out, because of our mutual circle of friends.

The worst part is all of my closer friends who are also "friends" with him, say the most horrible things about him behind his back to me, and we still all hang out with him! He is our inner-circles ass hole. He is our Eric Cartman. I'm pretty sure everyone has "that" friend.

Clearly you let it bother you too much. It is also clear that he is not much of a friend, if he knew you liked that girl. Are you sure he knew the circumstances? did you even tell him?

Don't go near relationships, they tend to be tedious. But it does remind me of when my friend was trying to ask out a girl and my two other friends were completely oblivious and didn't give him the chance to be alone ... I ended up dragging them away so that my friend could ask her :p

I think everyone has had 'that' friend at some point. I personally knew a few at school. I had a bad time in college though that involved a lot of backstabbing, causing me to lose my GF of 3 years and the majority of my childhood friends, so now I just have a few close ones and workmates basically.

This will make me sound like a depraved shut in, but fuck people.
How on earth did that happen then? Claimed cheating?

No, because my friends know I wouldn't stand for that shit. I suggest you confront him. Tell him he's an asshole. Or better yet, tell him you two aren't friends and you're sick of his bullshit.

I know you didn't ask for advice, but I sorta can't help it.

Most of my friends are pricks but I love them anyway. One of my friends, however, is a complete and utter tool. Begin rant:
The guy is 23 with no aspirations, he weighs about 25 stone and has a terrible taste in everything and yet he surrounds himself with this false, brittle wall of confidence. He believes he is Zeus' gift to the world despite having no good points, both visually and personality-wise. He thinks it's cool to like comic books (one of my favourite hobbies) so he Wiki's all of the characters he likes and reels off a bunch of facts, thinking he's now cool. The guy is 23! How does he have that mind set? He also has no taste in music, something which confuses the shit out of me. He likes Nickelback! I... how do you like Nickelback?!
/rant.
Needless to say, I've gone off him a little bit.

Well, I was an anime fan in high school (still am now). this was back in the 90's, during the heyday of manga video. Everytime I bought a new one, I had a friend who;d clamour to borrow them, then tell me about how much they sucked when he gave them back (especially my favorite, RG Veda).

Then he learned about the rather unpleasant sex and violence fest 'Legend of the The Overfiend' he bugged me constantly to buy it just so he could see it. Luckilly I looked it up rather than buying it, but what i read about it made me feel ill. And he still bugged me to get it.

Joke was on him when I picked Chuck Norris. Muhuhahaha
You do know that scissors defuses bomb right? I had a friend who did the same thing.

Wow, so many overly sensitive man babies here... If you felt awkward about that situation it's your own fault.. Happens to me all the time and I just play along, good times
Exactly my thoughts. It's just a little humour. Not like these people are out to ruin your lives.

I don't keep around friends who are dicks. Most of my friends are all generally kind and nice to others and I would not keep a friend who was rude or crude to me.

Life must be so boring for you with an imagination like that.

On a 10-point scale of bad days, this is maybe a 3, and that's being exceptionally generous.

You should thank your friend for getting you over that awkward period where you like some girl but don't have the balls to let her know (though I guess in this situation, you sort of did have the balls to let her know...(I'm sorry, that was terrible)). He did all the work for you and did it in a way that didn't make you look shy and ridiculous for not approaching her yourself.
