What the title says, is there a game series you think has gone to far from it's roots and is better of dead, or is in serious need of a reboot?
As an example one of mine would be Rainbow Six, half of that game was about planning the operation, were you went down in just a bullet or two. To me, that was the definition of a tactical shooter.
Sadly, ever since the Raven Shield (3) I grew up on, they've just become more and more like standard shooters, and now we've got the Vegas games, they dont really seem to have much to do with the old ones anymore, and I doubt they are going to ever go back to what made the games so great in the first place.
And this theme still sends chills down my spine...
