I play Starcraft 2 and today I was playing some 2v2 games with my friend. a few things you should note before the story gets started is that I am not very good, only silver league and that I am normally quite well-mannered, if someone gives me a good reason as to why they want to pause, I will let them, I say my gg's and hellos and only get snarky if my opponent starts it first.
So my friend and I are playing and we see that our 2 opponents have both gone for the same cheap, not very good early game strat that you only really use on the AI for achievements [footnote]double proxy zealot by both of them against terran and zerg for those who are SC2 literate, it was really really bad, especially once I had roaches
[/footnote]. Now once it was clear that they were going to lose[footnote]aforementioned roaches and the fact that my friend was now repairing our wall with about 7 SCVs[/footnote], one of them pauses. I always think that one should give reason to pause before breaking the flow of the game and wasting my time, but I give him about two seconds to say something. He says nothing, so I unpause. Then he just pauses straight again with no explanation so I unpause and we do this yet again. Then he actually types something after losing a few more units in a failed attack and pauses.
Now that I have established he has a reason for doing this other than to annoy me / unfairly converse with his teammate, I do not unpause and let him type. He goes on and on about how I was bad mannered for unpausing and that he threatens to report me He actually threatens to report me, saying how it is in the EULA to unpause (hmmm... why then did Blizz put in an unpause button that worked for all players?) and that I could get arrested -.- When I mention that this is well... mental on his part, he says that he will report my friend and I unless we leave the game and give him the match point. He counted it down. 3. 2. 1. He waited a few more seconds. He and his teammate left the game
DISCUSSION: Have you ever been playing a multiplayer game where the level of bad manners / overall stupidity of your opponents (or teammates) was awe-inspiring?
