That one game

You know what I'm talking about. That game you played at a friend's house that made you ask your parents to buy you a console, whether it be the NES, Commodore 64, N64, Playstation, Sega Genesis, and so on. That one game that made you want to become a gamer. For me, it was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. My friend had just bought it when I went to his house. We spent the entire day playing it.

Two weeks later, and my parents bought me my own N64. I was one ecstatic 8 year old boy. I don't even remember how much time I lost playing it after I came home from school.

Rogue, NetHack, Angband, Larn, and other Rogue-like games were all the rage when I was a little kid, and I was born into it.

TimeSplitters. I played it at my cousin's house, and I was hooked.

I already had a Playstation, but asked for a Gameboy after a friend let me play Pokemon.

I had always been a gamer. My parents had actually bought an Intellivsion for themselves (read: my Dad) so I played that before getting an NES.

However, I do have a "That one game"

I'll never forget the first time I played Sonic the Hedgehog at my friend's place. The graphics on the original Green Hill Zone and the crystal blue waterfalls, the speedy platforming...Oh man, I KNEW I had to have a Genesis

U know how Sonic the Hedgehog pretty much MADE the Genesis into the contender it was in that generation? Yeah, I'm the living embodiment of that. Sega Fanboy then 'till the end of the Dreamcast.

My mother has been a gamer since long before I was born, so by the time I was capable of holding the controller without chewing on it, I was gaming, though mostly educational stuff. Then, I met the PSX, and I fell in love, a hard-to-balance love-triangle between Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. I've been devouring games ever since 4 years old, bouncing across genres like a hyper-active Mexican jumping bean.

I'd probably say I bought a Gamecube for Wind Waker. Too bad it was worse than the previous console's Zelda entries (Wasn't bad, just not as fun as I thought it'd be).

I had a PC before that though, but no consoles.

Viewtiful Joe was the game that made me want a Gamecube more than anything. I played the demo once in some store and was absolutely enamored with it. Up until then, I didn't really care much about the Gamecube. Mario Sunshine looked okay, and Super Smash Bros. Melee seemed interesting, but nothing really grabbed my attention. Viewtiful Joe did, though. There was just something about it that sucked me in. It's still one of my favorite games.

Abe's Oddysee

I never really had that much interest in gaming untill I played the demo of Abe's Oddysee at a friend's house.

It was love at first sight.

My parents bought me a Nintendo 64 with Mario 64 for my 6th birthday (that's a lot of 6s). That's when I started gaming. Never really saw games before that, apart from tetris like things on the computer.

never had that kind of moment... I did buy a ps2 though... I have a total of 6 games! but still, I don't see it as the waste of money it is, because I usually use it as a dvd player...

Spyro Enter The Dragon

I was so young when I got it. I think it was my 6th birthday, been renting and borrowing a ps1 console for a long time then I unwrapped my presents and there it was, my first ever games console the playstation 1.

It was grey, square and primitive but I wouldn't have anything else in the world. With it my parents bought me 2 games Hercules because it was my favourite Disney film and Spyro. Unfortunately the Hercules one never played, we couldn't get a refund and my parents didn't have enough money to buy me another so I had spyro to play

I played so many hours, finding each dragon, each egg, each gem, trying to get to 99 lives, stupid secret spots and exploring the beautiful colourful world. I loved that game so much I can 100% complete the campaign in less than 3 hours but I've never gone for the record because I really don't need something else for people to call me a geek.

Every sequel on the ps1 never matched the quality and charm to me bar maybe the opening level of 3. The original will always remain a special place in my heart though. The sequels after the ps1 are bastard children I would never touch because not only were they terrible but they obliterated any hopes of another good spyro game

This old Star wars game for the original X-box. I believe it was called Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and involved much vehicle combat. My parents told they would not buy me an X-box though, so me and my brother saved up all our pennies and eventually bought it ourselves. Dang, I love the original X-box.

Before I really got into video games, a friend of mine had a Dreamcast and Powerstone 2. IT was the coolest thing I remember seeing at that age and I really wanted both the system and the game.

I got neither, but I still wanna play Powerstone 2 again.

There wasnt really a game that made me want to become a gamer, if it was im not sure which to name, Perhaps, Super mario 64, Diablo 2, Or heroes of might and magic 3, hard to say when i decided it.
