Being interrupted. People do it to me all the fucking time and I cannot discern why. I don't interrupt them when they speak, they should at least give me the same courtesy.

People who don't wash their hands after they go to the toilet. I don't care if I'm being a neat freak, you just touched your cock/ wiped your arse/ whatever, so wash your hands you disgusting ****.

It bugs me to no end when people weave in between lanes of traffic, just because they have to be wherever they need to be RIGHT NOW. I'd like to think they may have a legitimate reason to do so, but it still comes across as being a jerk.

I hate it when people use their mobile phones at inappropriate times...
I.e.:

  • In places they shouldn't (around aircraft... hospitals etc)
    In the bar
In my car (phonecalls- other than If I am making them on my own)
And the problem with using them in the bar is...what exactly?

If they need to make a phonecall/text someone for an actual reason, what's so special about the inside of your car? Also, does complaining about people using phones in your car, but being "allowed" to make them yourself not seem a tad hypocritical?

Mobiles also don't really have any effect on Aircraft and Hospitals, because they operate on entirely different frequencies, because y'know building something that could be buggered up by a mobile is a really bad design flaw were it true.

Obviously there are times when using them are inappropriate but it just seems you don't mobiles being used in your presence rather than the actual context. People are usually phoning people for a reason, most people don't really phone up from their mobile for a random chat, because it's expensive and/or drains the battery pretty quickly.

"But I already have one, why would I want yours as well? I'll borrow yours as well though if you really want."

So I just got a call from my girlfriend, who calls me while she is on a skype call with three of her friends, wearing headphones with one side off her ear to talk to me...now I don't know about you guys, but I hate that.
I love to talk to her and all that, don't take it that way. But when people call me while they're busy or distracted, it royally pisses me off.

Anyways, I was wondering about you guys. What annoys you the most?
Sounds like my aunt. Everytime her and I speak to one another on the telephone she is always talking to her cats. Sometimes I can't tell if its me or the cats that she is speaking to.

I'll be saying something and she'll all of a sudden yell something at the cats, as if they are always misbehaving. I think she truly has turned into one of those "crazy cat ladies" you always hear about.

OT: My pet peeve is bullies/mean spirited people.

It really rubs me the wrong way when people judge others for doing things they don't agree with, "I have no respect for smokers" and "OMG what sad fucks queuing up for a game" are at the top of the annoying list.

The phone rings. Mom asks you to get it because she's busy, so you do. It's for her, and when you tell her that she comes and gets it. Even though the reason you went to get it was that she was busy. And it's always for her.

I am a military officer... The bar, along with the Anteroom are public rooms in the mess... and it is considered very rude to use a phone in such a room.

When I am on my own in my car I will make phonecalls... but I won't make someone else sit and awkwardly listen to my conversations whilst I am driving... unless they are involved of course... like we are meeting with someone and trying to get their whereabouts. But that is a functional phonecall... not a social one! Someone recently, whilst I was driving with 5 in the car, received a phonecall and proceded to have a 20 min conversation with the person on the other end. In this time I had to have the radio turned down and noone else could speak so that they could hear there conversation... that is just rude.

Hospitals are very inappropriate places to wonder around with a phone having a loud conversation about how pissed you were the other weekend... it's about the time and place.

I wasn't talking about civilian aircraft... Military aircraft have a lot more transmitters and receivers at a huge frequency range... phones also transmit with a range of frequencies, and also have recording sensors on that are inappropriate to have around aircraft.

Where as I do agree that sometimes functional calls are important, in my experience the people who use them in the areas I mentioned arn't usually having quick work discussions...

Yeah I get annoyed when your girlfriend calls me too. :p

OT - Old people that chose to come into town when they know people in offices have lunch. You're retired. You have literally all day to be slow and annoying.

At work, the cleaning crew cleans the restrooms during our 30 minute meal break. As in, all of the restrooms which effectively cuts off our ability to piss while we're on break. Since the store is closed and everything else around is also closed (night shift) we can't exactly leave to search for a different toilet that isn't closed. This is an ongoing thing that hasn't been fixed despite a few complaints...The over night team has about 50 people in it at the moment too thanks to the Holiday season so that's a lot of potential problems.

XD I have even told my parents I won't pick up the phone anymore because of this. If someone is calling for me they will call my cell or email me.

Nah hah, now that makes sense, I retract my finicky statement :) Context fixes every thing.

When my mum calls me from downstairs, I come down and ask what it is. She doesn't respond, leaving me standing there wondering what the hell I'm standing there for. Also when my parents ask me to deal with a problem with the computer when I don't know what the hell I'm doing, but they always think I do.

When people call me and then they are distracted by everything and don't listen to a word I say. Waste of time. It's so damn annoying!

People who take up BOTH sides of the Escalator. Everywhere in the world people stand on the right, or run up the left hand side, DON'T BLOCK PEOPLE IN A RUSH!
You might want to check your facts there son. In Australia, and quite a few other places, it's the opposite way round.

Still, in London, this is a massive pet peeve of mine. Don't stand two-abreast on the elevator, it's bad manners, and certainly don't continue to walk side-by-side on the pavement when you can see there are people coming towards you.

Fair enough then, everywhere I've been it seems to be on the right, but the point still stands. If everyone's standing on one of the escalator, whether it's left or right, the other side is for people in rush. Why do they feel the need to take up the whole fucking thing. THEN avoid eye contact completely if say "Excuse me".
