My two favorites are segments of poetry from T.S. Eliot and Edgar Lee Masters, respectively.

The Polling Stones "Gime Shelter" and "Paint it Black" and most of the songs by the Police, when i was a kid i liked the police cuz i liked the sounds they made, now that I'm older I realize all their songs are about whores or suicide or something else fucked up.

Possibly the only song I've ever heard that changes tone and message from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other in a single line without changing tempo, instruments, or even key. Five words and nothing else take a previously heartwarming and uplifting experience and make it plunge into ice cold dread.
