A lot of what Shirastro said, except I don't find the main quest interesting, just cliche' and predictable.

The main thing that's bugging me about Skyrim is that ever since I got my armour rating over 400, there is no challenge discovering the land anymore. Only really deep inside caves and what not where there is a decent boss at the end. I reckon they should have set limits to my skills till I unlock them, would've given me more to aim for.
I did find Anduin a bit cliche (i mean he wants to destroy the world cause he is so so evil) but other characters are pretty cool. Also i like the fact that the main story involves all the factions in some way. From blades to Thalmor to Rebels and so on...

Of course Skyrims story is nothing compared to Morrowind, but it's miles ahead of Oblivion (did i mention how much i despise Oblivion? :)

10 fingers...1 ring slot.

The fact that any and all companions/followers seem to love leaping into arrow shot as if trying to catch a bouquet at a wedding. Sneaking as well seems to be redundant when followers are around, as half the time they charge in anyway and die immediately. I'm a ranger/scout and I have to pretend to be a tank when guiding any of these idjits through a dungeon.

The fact that there's only like 10 voices in all of Skyrim, and apparently I've had the rattles for a serious month.

And once again...the fact that there's really no point in ever owning a horse.

anything but this. An online version of TES would need to scrap the entire skill and alchemy system. Because people who play online almost always end up doing PVP. And as soon as PVP opens up, balance issues come to play. And then everyone is squealing about how op this is or how nerf'd that is. No. Some games do not need a multiplayer component. There are plenty of multiplayer games out there to play.

People ALWAYS talk about how they wish it was online. Redesign the entire concept from the ground up with multiplayer in mind, then we can talk. Til then, bethesda has the right idea.

1 ring slot is annoying, we want even moar bonuses I suppose.

I'd like to be able to chat more with my companions, more Baldur's Gate I guess. Some have quests before you get them, so that is good, tooling around with Illia at the moment. Good background for that character, but yes, not so deep.

My greatest complaint is...
No spears or halberds. I get Bethesda and the Oblivion makers seem to hate these weapons, but truly, the dragons should be more scary in close (like dnd dragons) and necessitate greater tactics. I'd like some long spears and halberds thanks. Any type of polearm. The headsman's axe is pretty good, but not quite what I want. Hunting dragons, should have spears. And some thrown weapons, so basically mount and blade merged with skyrim.

Also getting encircled and stabbed by four guards with spears would be great. A skyrim five-some.

Lack of a timer on magical effects. That Stoneflesh spell would be a lot more effective if knew exactly when it ended. It also appears that the only notification of contracting a disease is every SOB in game asking me if I'm sick.

The removal of Hand To Hand as an actual skill means that my dream of killing a dragon with nothing but my bare hands is severely hindered.

C'mon, Bethesda! It would have been worth it for the Cave Adventure reference at the very least.
Check the heavy armour skill tree, you can do more damage with unarmed as a perk.

I would like to play lutes, drums and flutes. That is the only thing I was disappointed in after doing the Bard's College quest ):

There is more than one, really. I still like the game but it definitely missteps in a lot of spots. However a few major things are the lack of creative quests that require the use of a brain. Even when you turn off all markers, its still stupidly easy. I also miss spell making and I don't like the simplification of spells.
I also miss having more armor slots. Lastly, I wish the world reacted somewhat to everything I do. At the moment, nothing seems to matter, even completing the main quest.

1 ring slot.

First of all, humans (and TES flavored humanoids) all have 10 fingers. Second of all, in Oblivion and Morrowind (I'm pretty sure Morrowind) you could equip two rings. Why in the hell would you downgrade the ring slots from the already pathetic 2 slots, into just 1 slot?

If anything, we should be allowed to wear ten rings, and just nerf the enchant-ability of rings a little bit.

The game would only work if the player is only another person within Tamreil, not dragon born or a demigod. If people are equal to npc power then balancing should never be an issues. It would also need a huge sandbox element to it for the game to work.

I hate that there's no fallout with the Aldmeri Dominion. They're set up as the main temporal antagonists and the underlying reason for the civil war in Skyrim but by the end of the main quests, there's no real resolution with them.

I want some kind of Thalmor war DLC campaign. I can never kill enough pompous Altmer

I'm already bored by Skyrim....it feels like offline WoW.

edit: lemme elaborate

Game is like a firecracker, explosive burst of fun that fizzles away really fast.
Dragons were super exiting first couple of time, now i just ignore them.
Aside from the main quest and couple of daedric quest all the other quests are just repetitive "go there, kill that, come back"
Linear dungeons that, like dragons, are great the first time around, but get really boring really fast.
There is literary no need to use your brain at all. Your hand is held the whole time.
Consoly controls for PC.
Bunch of tiny details that get really irritating after a while. Why can't i tell my char to smelt all my iron ore instead of having to click and confirm for each and every ingot, or why cant i name my saves?
And above everything else NPCs need to STFU. There is literary nothing that irritates me more than all the retarded NPCs who start telling random crap about their lives every time i pass them. I don't care if you work in that shop over there and if you think it's a hard job. I don't care where and with whom you live with. I don't care if you think that it's getting cold and how your crops might fail this season. I don't know you, i don't care about you, i'm not making eye contact (in fact i have my back turned to you) so just SHUT THE **** UP.

That being said i feel i should point out why i love the game as well (and yes i actually do love Skyrim)

It just looks good. I don't mean just from the technical point of view but the overall art direction. HUGE improvement over Oblivion.
Main quest is really interesting.
Combat is much improved and actually fun this time around, again huge improvement over Oblivion.
World and setting are really great and fun to explore, much much better than Obli....yeah you guessed it, i hate Oblivion :p
NPC faces don't give me nightmares anymore. (God i hate Oblivion)
I liked learning about all the things that happen in the past 200 years. The Dominion-Empire war, the Skyrim rebellion, destruction of Morrowind...fun stuff.
Those shouts really make you feel like a badass :)

But above all i like the way the skill system was streamlined and this is by far the biggest plus in my opinion. You have all the complexity of the previous games, without the unnecessary complications.
There's actually a couple mods out now that fix some of the issues you've had. Nameley the item smelting and the save game organizing.

Best quote that sums up Skyrim

"PC Skyrim is a Frustrating Mess and Will Soon be the Best Version"

For me I wish they kept hand to hand fighting in and just improved on it. Maybe add some hand to hand weapons like katars and wristblades. Fallout 3 and New Vegas both had a bunch of hand to hand weapons so I was a little curious as to why they didn't incorporate that same system into Skyrim.

I ended up doing a deadric quest that made me feel like I was in a torture porno. I really just wanted to throw down the mace and say "fuck you" to the Deadra. Needless to say I restarted a save I had made before hand so I don't feel "tainted" when I play it.

Skyrim is either my personal game of the year or second place. Haven't made my choice yet.

Also the game is alot more interesting than Oblivion. I blame the fact that I have to go to a place to fast travel to it. I made a rule that I wouldn't fast travel unless it was some place like from Markarth to Windhelm.

Also I feel very invested in my character. As an Argonian Mage/Fighter/with sneak and archery capabilities. I like the new Argonian look especially, they feel more badass than before. Though I have only found two of my own species throughout the entire game.

Voice variety is noticably short at times but truthfully, there are more voices. Enough to keep a grasp of immersion.

Also the thrill of fighting dragons will never get old. At any level you will be vulnerable to these things, that I find ingenious.

I really hate how NPC's don't seem to respond to your choices/current status at all. People keep on referring to me as the new member of the Companions when I've been the Harbinger for months (In-game) now. Beating the main quest nets you a few more generic lines of dialogue from random guard NPCs, and some NPCs still talk like Alduin is still roaming around and Skyrim is still in danger.

Or how bout the fact that assassinating the Emperor does not have any major changes/reprecussions at all? It was a damn cool scene and ending to the questline, but it is let down by the fact that nothing changes from it.

In fact, the game doesn't really react to your choices at all. Dragons are just as common (If not moreso) after the main quest is finished than they are before. Sure, I get that the dragons aren't wiped out and it'd be annoying if they stopped appearing after the main quest, but some acknowledgement that things have changed would be nice.
This is my biggest gripe, mainly because it can't really be modded, unlike the UI, bugs, graphics, etc. It's such a let-down to start a new guild quest-line to find they have no idea who I am and show no respect even though I've saved & doomed Skyrim countless times.
Thank goodness for the guards. Although their to-the-minute updates of my deeds does throw into sharp contrast the abject ignorance of everyone else.

Creating dialogue to even partially mirror your status within the game would probably double the voice-acting workload. So how about spreading your wings by allowing the existence of some text dialogue, eh, Skyrim?

I should stop talking to Skyrim. It's not a real person.

The Horse physics could be improved (They tend to handle awkwardly on bumpy terrain)

Also the stealth can be quite dodgy.

I'm enjoying it for the most part, though I haven't been able to devote a ton of time to it, the only thing that annoys me is that they nerfed Vampirism.
In Oblivion Vampirism was great, it there were still drawbacks in the form of damage from sunlight and people disliking you when you got to a higher level of it, but the benefits made up for it without completely outweighing them. In exchange for not being able to go out in the day after a point, you got Hunter's Sight (a bitchin' power), mad leaps, sufficient to clear a small building with the right Agility level and items, and the ability to level up to a higher vampirism level in advance of going into dungeons.
Unfortunately, my friend contracted vampirism, which is standard operating procedure for the both of us, only to find that all the benefits I listed above were gone. I was lucky enough to have not had contract it yet, but my friend had to go on a cross country, angry villager dodging, quest to find a sucker to feed on in order to lower his vampirism level and eventually cure himself.

What I'm saying is;
Vampirism: They changed it, now it sucks.

My only significant problem is that there are no Dragon Marriage options.

AND THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM TO ME.

No, wait, how is it ANYTHING like WoW, at all?

I play WoW, religiously, and it's NOTHING like it.

"I hate Dragon Age: Origins, it too much like Age of Empires 2!"
Mostly cause of repetitive uninspiring quests.
Take quest, follow the marker, kill whatever you have to kill, loot and go back.
Aside from the main quest and a couple of Daedric quests all the others are very dull.
Do the all the other groups except the Companions then. The College of Winterhold actually features a strange and exciting quest line that is on par with the Daedric quests, The Thieves Guild has a variety of quests with a bunch of different objectives and the Dark Brotherhood...well...The Dark Brotherhood quests go without saying.

That all said, I can't possibly disagree with you more. If you look at the bare bones of each quest, yes they are similar. If you pay attention to the plot of each one, you'll find that they're actually a lot different.

You really expect me to say that the Forsworn Conspiracy quest in Markath or the Wolf Queen quests in Solitude were boring? Even the Bard's College keeps things interesting with their fetch quest by having you team up with the ghost of a dead bard to defeat the first high-king of Skyrim!

The lack of an effect timer. I'd like to know when my potions are going to wear off without setting a stopwatch during combat.
Check 'Active Effects' under 'Magic'.
That's really quite useful, thanks!

As for the vampire thing... the one reason I became a werewolf was to prevent myself from becoming a vampire. I contracted porphyric vampiria? vampiris? vampiritis? ah, fuck it the disease once, and sprinted to the nearest shrine the second the quest was over to get rid of it. Although lycanthropy has since been quite useful as a means of transport given the frailty of horses.

OT: Horses. Don't let them scale impossible cliffs if they'll promptly go squish after a 5 foot drop. Also, mounted combat would have been cool.
