..That holds a special place in your heart.

It may be real, it may not, what's your preferred weapon?

A gauss rifle would be fictional, but probably the Heckler & Koch MP7. Lightweight and firepower combined to make a great weapon.

The .45 USP. It just looks soooooo sleek, it just screams clean professionalism.

That and I totally rocked with it back in my CS:S glory days.

Ikujarandi's Claymore, a custom enchanted weapon in Morrowind. It deals about 30-40 damage with each hit, and absorbs 15 health on each hit. I used it for about a month's worth of Morrowind, so yeh.

The BR in Halo 3. It's the one gun I always feel good about picking up. Close or long range, it's there for me. Sure i'd love to have sniper or rockets, but I always look for the BR from the very start of a game.

The Brotherhood Sword from Final Fantasy X. When it's full power was unlocked after the Farplane scenes in the game, I just never bothered switching to anything else. Tidus is already one of my strongest characters, and about to get Armour Break on the Sphere Grid (expert grid, almost finished Mount Gagazet at the moment), so he doesn't need a Piercing weapon, so I just stuck to the Brotherhood sword all the way through even though there are plenty of much better weapons out there...

The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum, chambered for .338 Lapua Magnum rounds. Not only is it the best sniper rifle in Counter-Strike: Source (and my weapon of choice), but a variant of it also holds the world record for longest kill at roughly two and a half miles.

Also one of my favourites :p

While we're at it, I felt pretty amazed getting to fire an AA12 in the shooting range.

I play a stealthy approach, which has almost ended up breaking the game for me on Legendary difficulty (despite making the game easy though, it's still an awesome game...). So I stick to the sniper rifle or Covenant beam rifle as a secondary weapon and always use the Battle Rifle as my first choice. The scopes just make it such a great weapon to use, and you don't needlessly waste ammo (unless you're an American player...) by shooting an Unggoy or Kig-Yar about ten times when it only takes one 3-round burst to put them down...

[small]NOTE: I mean no offence to Americans, I was simply making a joke at their expense about the traditional stereotype of gun-wielding US troops being trigger happy. Heh, I fondly recall the ancient past when such disclaimers weren't needed in this sue-happy world. Where did those happy days go, eh...?[/small]

Heh same here. After watching FLCL for the first time, all I wanted to do was smash things up with a bass guitar. Although Gordon Freeman's crowbar also means a lot to me, I'm quite attached to it. Saved my skin when I was running low on ammo, something that usually never happens to me.

I'd have to say my favorite weapon is the reaver drop.
Nothing pleases more than the absolute destruction of a foe's economy.
As a result, it has a place in every arsenal.
