We have all come across that moment in a game, where no matter how hard we try, we just keep dying/losing over....and over...and over, until we literally think that it is nigh impossible to finish said section. This can be an enemy, a level, one small area of a level or even a boss.

What instances of this have you come across?

For me, lately I re-acquired one of the Guilty Gear XX games, and I realized why I think I traded it in, in the first place: Beating I-No in arcade mode. There are no words to describe how infuriating this fight is, and I can't seem to beat her on any difficulty. I know how to avoid her "Megalomania" special attack, but she still hands my ass to me on a silver platter.

Just about every boss battle in Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero, but the final boss battle to be specific. I still can't beat that bastard...

Final boss of Shinobi on hardest difficulty. I quit there. Just wasn't funny anymore after the 50th or so game over. Was a damned fine game, though. Shame Nightshade was so boringly easy and monotonous.

Well, I don't usually, I just mess around for a bit, I usually find the way to do it in the end.

Demon's Souls did this to me for a bit, but then I got pissed that you had to start the entire level again on a game of trial and error and sold the thing.

Had it with the Fushia gym in Pokémon Yellow. Couldn't beat the tosser's...Venomoth, I believe. Threw the game away in disgust and didn't touch it for months. A while later, I beat the guy.

Man, that was neat.

Some of the dark aeons in Final fantasy - it shocks me that people can actually get through those battles!
Also, the second revenant I came across in Dragon age. I just kept dying and dying, so I reloaded and avoided it.

Anyway, when I first played through F3, I made the mistake of taking the GNR quest at a low level and got sandwiched between 2 lots of Super Mutants. Not fun .

The level 'Wetwork' from the MW2 Special Ops mission bordered on becoming this, but 'Mile High Club' for the first MW had me fully believing it just was not possible... until I beat it... In fact, WaW on Vet also seemed impossible...

Strange, they're all Call of Duty's...
