A Sample of Best:

Persona (Ingmar Bergman, 1966)
The very essence of filmmaking. Put on film.

Wings of Desire (Wim Wenders, 1987)
The most spiritually uplifting experience I ever derived from a film.
- And I am NOT a spiritual person.

3-Iron (Kim Ki-duk, 2004)
Cinematic poetry. Symptomatic of the reemergent silent cinema.

Mulholland Drive (David Lynch, 2001)
His most heartbreaking dream play to date.

Batman Returns (Tim Burton, 1992)
German expressionism plus Michelle Pfeiffer in skin-tight vinyl equals genius.

-----------------
A Sample of Worst:
-----------------

Sex and the City: The Movie (Michael Patrick King, 2008)
A consumerist tract which has the galls to moralize about the virtues of a modest lifestyle in the last fifteen minutes.
Utterly reprehensible.

Death Proof (Quentin Tarantino, 2007)
The one-trick-pony returns with his most ridiculously vacuous film as of yet.

Slim Susie (Ulf Malmros, 2003)
You know what's hilarious? Young girls in rural Sweden getting hooked on drugs.
Oh be STILL my aching sides!

Titanic (James Cameron, 1997)
The anti-romance.

Braveheart (Mel Gibson, 1995)
They may take our lives, but they can never stop me from walking out on this turgid wreck every time it appears on a film network.

For anyone who can't think of a worst movie, I invite you to watch 'Megashark vs Giant Octopus'. They attempted to 'make it as realistic as possible', and failed beyond reason. worst movie I have ever seen.

Best:
-Joyeux Noel--> Amazing film about christmas in the trenches
-Grave of the fireflies--> This movie is spectaculer but leaves you depressed for weeks
-Pans Labyrinth--> Amazing cinematography and story
-The Usual Suspects--> Mind blowingly good story
-Lawrence of Arabia--> The original epic movie, really need to dig up my copy again.

Worst: (ooo I've seen a lot)
-Leeches--> Holy crap was that godawful, I mean I like crappy horror movies and that one made me want to watch something else
-Any of the "Movie" movies after the first Scary movie
-I'm finding it hard to list others, I actually enjoy a lot of crappy horror movies and I tend to avoid lowest common denominator type films so generally I don't watch things I know I won't enjoy.

Best:
-Star wars (series)
-Lord of the rings (series)
-There's something about Mary
-Stand by me
-The Dark Knight

Worst:
-Transformers 2 (fell asleep in the theater, first time I've ever done that)
-Lady in the Water (I think that's the name?)
...and I can't think of any others.

But holy hell was that movie "Lady in the Water" bad, I didn't feel like doing anything after seeing that movie --- it nearly sucked the life out of me.
