The acquisition of a Krogan in ME3 multiplayer

I haven'T bought ME3 or are even planning to but i'm curious how the multiplayer classes work. do you unlock them with ingame points or do you have to buy them with real money?

You need to unlock them by buying pack which give you a number of random items, upgrades, weapons or characters. It works like a trading card game. The amounts and rarity of what you get depend on the price of the pack. The more expensive the pack, the better your chance of rare stuff. You can pay for these packs using ingame credits earned from playing the multiplayer, or with real money (only the more advanced packs).

As a side note, why do I rarely ever get medigel? I suppose it's luck of the draw, but I haven't gotten any for several days straight. Though it did teach me to be careful and develop better tactics. On the other hand, I do get loads of Cobra missiles and I also got the capacity upgrade. By this point, I could fire 3 of them every mission all day long, for a week.

I think which supplies you get is somewhat biased in rarity; medigel always seems to be the most rare, though that might also be because they get used the most so those +1-+3 results from packs don't seem to go as far.

I have the completely opposite problem, I NEVER get cobra missiles, just everything else, I have at least 40 thermal clips, also why can I never find mods for my guns? If I do, then why does it always have to be for the snipers or the god damned SMG's I never plan on using those, ever

Just keep buying packs I guess. The krogans can come in any pack but you got a better chance
just going for the specter packs.

The annoying thing is I bought loads of specter packs hoping to get a Drell vanguard but I ended up unlocking every single character apart from the Drell vanguard.

Got my Quarian Infiltrator (the only race i really wanted) in the free starter pack. Then it gives me literally no sniper stuff to this day. Yeah level one Mantis! Silver here I come! WOOOOOOOOSHI-

Though the Asari Vanguard I got is awesome. It's like being a Banshee! But, y'know, less nightmareish...

Had the same problem. The only sniper stuff I got were the raptor and the viper and they suck.

The mantis isn't that bad. If you want to upgrade it buy some recruit packs, this way you can upgrade the standard weapons and the weapon mods very fast.

Got almost all (haven?t got the Turian solider). Spectre packs are the way to go. It's just a matter of luck.

Turian soldier was the very first race I unlocked, haha...

Really? I love the Turian soldier The marksman ability combined with the revenant mschinegun (read: superweapon) makes you unstoppable! Than and the widow rifle. Turian shits bricks over human solider imo (apart from the lack of dodging thing)

Don't forget the M99 Saber, I rarely don't get first place anymore on the scoreboard. Hell I placed 2nd in a SILVER match with my LEVEL 1 Turian Sentinel. I Really want to try Marksman with that gun, it seems so Overpowered... and it's only level 1, I can only imagine how broken it would be at rank 10

Level 4 clip enhancement giving me over 100 shots per clip... you just keep walking at the enemy firing (banshees excluded) and watch them fall.

Yep, so save up on those creds and I'm pretty sure you'll have one soon enough.

Now to follow my own advice for an Asari.

its all about luck, I personally now have every race with with full coloring edits, but have yet to receive upgrades for some equips.

your best bet is to early on buy recruit packs, until you run out of the shitty weapons upgrades, then move on to vet packs until you run out of uncommon upgrades.

When you start receiving characters only in vet packs, thats when you might want to move on to spectre packs.

It's all luck of the draw, and it seems like whatever you're hunting for is the one thing you're going to be least likely to find. Like me and my Black Widow. Infiltrator is my favorite class to play and I haven't found that godly gun yet.

I've actually had surprisingly decent luck when it comes to ME3 multiplayer packs, the first spectre pack I opened I unlocked a krogan sentinel. A couple days later I unlocked the black widow and now it's level 2 with some decent mods (ammo, damage)

I pretty much exclusively buy spectre packs, they pretty much guarantee a rare item and have a better shot at unlocking the Spectre Weapons. I really haven't played much other than my infiltrator so I would trade you my krogan for your patterns if I could.

I'm insanely happy with my black widow so far, it's just as powerful as my mantis, penetrates cover without the mod and has a 3 shot clip (which means I can kill 3 small enemies without reloading) it must be somewhat rare though since I've only seen one other since I've picked mine up.

I'm just sick of unlocking sniper rifles now, I keep unlocking all the other snipers (I have 7 total) even though I'll probably never use any of them.

For me I still need The Paladin pistol, I have the carnifax but I want the Spectre pistol, even if both the Paladin and the Black Widow weigh as much as another persons whole arsenal.

OT: Just keep with spectre packs, you'll get it eventually.

Yeah all the recruit stuff i'm buying is just giving me Katana shotgun upgrades... I have the Katana VIII now. It's kinda bad.

For me I still need The Paladin pistol, I have the carnifax but I want the Spectre pistol, even if both the Paladin and the Black Widow weigh as much as another persons whole arsenal.

The Paladin is actually not all that heavy, for a heavy pistol. Does more damage than the Carnifax X, at comparable weight. Only issue with it is the tiny clip size.

I've done ok-ish with my character unlocks considering how few packs I've bought altogether, but god damn it if I can unlock any weapon levels. I should not have every character I've created be in double figures and still using level one guns. I'm not really bothered about unlocking new guns, I just want higher level versions of the ones I do have damn it!

I wish bioware could allow us to trade stuff then I could give you guys a lot of the characters you are asking for, cos I,ll never use any thing in my bloody vanguard collection.

This could be true, I have the paladin on my single player character and he recharges his powers quickly. It's definitely an issue with the Black Widow though, I only ever bring my black widow in multiplayer and it gives me a -4% power recharge speed on it's weight alone.

I probably wouldn't ever use both on my infiltrator, unless I want to wait 2 hours for my powers to recharge (mostly the Black Widow's fault) the pistol would be nice for an adept/engineer though.

I did just unlock the Carnifax, so I might not even need the Paladin.

on a side note, I like the unlockable aspect of multiplayer (not just because I get everything I want) but without it there is a good chance I would have already gotten tired of multiplayer. I'm hoping they add new stuff soon.

I don't actually know if this is correct or not, but I'll ask the question for those who might know the actual answer:

Are you better off buying Spectre packs, or Veteran packs?

I unlocked quite a few of the races with the veteran packs.

Now I have all the races I want but will it give me the bloody guns I want? No, no it won't. Curse you random loot, curse you to hell.

I prefer the Premium Veteran Packs they've had this week - two Uncommons with a high chance of those Uncommons actually being Rares.

I've unlocked a lot of races that way - got Turian Sentinel yesterday.

Although, for the record, I unlocked Quarian Infiltrator in a Recruit pack. I was just looking for a couple medi-gel (never enough medi-gel) and, boom, one of my two favorite classes just fell in my lap. Lucky day.

Of course, I still can't seem to unlock Asari Adept (my other favorite from the Demo).

Also this. I don't like Drell, but I have unlocked both Drell. I never use them - just not a play style I enjoy. I would love to trade them to a good home in return for Asari.

The Black Widow more than makes up for its weight over a Mantis with the expanded clip size. Ammo reload dumps are plentiful, and it's easy enough to do a quick restock that it's really the only gun you'll need to carry. And Tactical Cloak has such a short cooldown once it's specced up that it's pretty close to being "always on" anyway.

On any non-soldier, non-infiltrator though, I'd stay the hell away from Sniper rifles, because you're right, they're just too damn heavy.

It really is just the luck of the draw. I can?t remember if I got my Krogans from Spectre or Premium packs, but I?d recommend the latter out of practicality ? at least until you?re comfortable defeating ?silver? challenges and getting 30,000 ish credits a pop (as opposed to bronze?s 15,000.)

As for me, I?m not after an exotic character or weapon, I just want to upgrade my M-97 Viper Sniper Rifle but I can?t find any more! I?ve got enough Raptors, Incisors, and of course Mantis but I don?t like those guns. Viper is supposed to be an ?uncommon? loot but I just can?t upgrade. Goddammit!

Whoever said this game this needed a trading system was right on the money.
