Well, my mother often tells me that I spend too much time on videogames, and lately that is true, but it's simply because there is absolutely NOTHING to do outside: my pool is empty, my bike's at the shop, my boxing gym's closed for painting, all my friends are on their summer vacations, nobody's at the sports club and I don't have anything to read, so I have to stick to an indoor activity. I have a radio, a TV, music and my PC and my PS2. I obviously will pick the one that appeals the most to me, and that is gaming.

I don't think I'll ever stop playing games honestly.
You have a perfect point. Games were only in their infancy so long ago.

People can easily balance gaming and having a social life. I hate when people take this piss out of gamers saying they do not have social lifes and all we do is play games. But it is clearly not true at all. I mean i would never stop gaming for anything and having a social life and doing other things does not effect it either.

You got it.
I'm not playing games like I used to because I work 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Saturday. But I still get some nice game time in AND go out to a club or two on Saturday night. There's just no truth that Games = No social life.

I wouldn't let it bother you. My guess is that she doesn't know enough about modern video games and therefore dubs them as toys, which is where she gets the idea that video games are childish.

Exactly, there are 24 fucking hours in a day, you can spare one or two for gaming and still be perfectly normal.

Eh people always think if they dont do it, it must be weird...the easy way is to move out on your own... Then when you play L4D for 13 hours all you get is a weird look from your boyfriend >>. Ok maybe that is just me but if you are on your own and working and paying for your own devices then it wouldn't matter.

It's not at all bothered me. It is just that i wondered many in a couple of years time if it would not be a suprise to see older people playing games more frequently.
